Today is October 6, and I called her. It's been almost one month since my appointment on 09/14/21. Also, the office manager sealed the deal on me lowering the rating after our conversation. On the day of my cleaning appointment an unknown lady was about to take me to the hygienist area; therefore, I asked where was the other hygienist. I was told she no longer worked there, and she had moved away with her husband. The receptionist volunteered to tell the new hygienist was great, and I would love her. The hygienist and I preceeded to her area, I sat down, and she placed the protective bib around my neck. This and her great manners were the only positive things about our interaction. Here is the rest of my experience; it's very negative . The hygienist placement of the tube in my mouth to suction the water as she attempted to clean my teeth with the ultrasonic scaler was awful. The water continously overflowed, which caused the hygienist to continually stop and wipe my jawline and also my face from all the water sprays. The hygienist rarely use the round mouth mirror to see and clean different areas and tarter. She did not know what she was doing; she just moved the scaler along my teeth like she was feeling her way through the cleaning, which doesn't make any since. I was really trying to be patient and hoping she'd get better, but when she stopped and reached for the manual plaque tool I told her I needed to speak with the office manager. This is when the office manager assured me that the dentist would call me the next day, 09/15/21; it never happened, period. Fast forward to today 10/06/21, it has been almost one month as I said in my opening; therefore, I called the office manager. She initially wasn't available, but when she did return my call she never apologized even though I reminded her of how long it had been. She went on to say they were not charging me for the cleaning, which wasn't my concern because I'll be checking with my insurance. The office manager then told me the hygienist cleaned the dentist teeth, and the dentist said she was satisfied. What does the dentist satisfaction have to do with me being satisfied? If true, I wouldn't expect anything less from the hygienist because her job could have potentially been on the line. This office manager never follows up. There have been at least two occasions she was suppose to check the coverage for procedures I was possibly getting done. Smiling and friendliness is not enough. I need results.

(Check out the pics). Previously, Dr. Stiles - a third generation dental guy - diagnosed me with facial nerve damage and today, he diagnosed me with a congested salivary gland. So if your dentist recommends you see an oral surgeon, don't think he'll meet you at the door with a scalpel in hand. He may be the diagnostician that your doctor needs to help identify the health concern. I liked that the equipment at Coral Surgery produced sharp images so Dr. Stiles could identify the problem. I love that he took his time to make sure I understood and saw the images in the scan. He's relaxed and calm. Moments before he met with me, I heard him speak to a patient in fluent Spanish (I'm STILL on Duolingo!) and then walk into the waiting area to tell the person that the patient would be out soon. One of his team did the same thing a few minutes later. They really have a sense of courtesy. It is great that he can communicate with us in English or Spanish. The people in the office are bilingual too. It's scary having to go to an oral surgeon. When you see Dr. Stiles you forget to be scared. He's a truly lovely person and his new office and team made me feel comfortable as soon as I walked in. AND, Arun's Indian Kichen is a few doors down from their office (yes, we went to Aruns after!). So, now you know a really good oral surgeon if ever you need one.

I went to a prosthodontist for a second opinion. He removed the bridge easily, confirmed it was in good shape, rebuilt the teeth, and recemented it. No extractions. No implants, No bone grafts. The bridge fits beautifully - and at a savings of $29,753. Huge difference in honesty, professionalism, and treatment approach. DEFINITELY get a second opinion.

The worst thing was when I told them I had an x-ray done in the beginning of the year and my insurance only covered one set of X-rays a year they demanded that I pay them for another X-ray before they would even see me. The day before my appointment I got a courtesy call , reminding me of the appointment then I was told that I had a balance . I asked how was that and I was told because the insurance didn't pay for a previous cleaning so I said i thought we cleared that billing months ago . I was told by the receptionist that it's my job to file that claim and by her doing that it would be a courtesy. I was a bit confused , anyways she told me when I come in they would handle it . I told her no I think we should take care of it before the appointment because I don't want to be held up by that. She insisted that she'd have all the information pertaining to the billing when I got there. Fast forward got to my appointment I was told I had to pay the balance owed before being seen . She went on to say of all the visits I have never paid anything, keep in mind other patients were there overhearing the conversation I was so embarrassed. I was in disbelief, I said what do you mean I have never paid , I even told her as a matter of fact I was over charged and I told her to credit me on my next appointment. She looked at me as if I was crazy and told me we didn't have that conversation, it was when I pulled up my bank account and showed her the payments then she looked up in the computer and realized that my payment was credited to someone else's account it was then I got an apology. And as for that balance it was her and when I said her I mean the black lady the one that is responsible for billing didn't do her job and cause it to show that I owed .
