This is an average-sized Superdrug store, located inside the Manchester Arndale, while the store…read moremay not have all the features of the nearby Piccadilly Gardens branch (For example this store does NOT have a Pharmacy or a large beauty bar), it is still a good store with a nice selection of products. The selection of most products seems to be quite good, especially in the two areas I come to the store for (toiletries and ready to drink beverages), the aisles can feel a little narrow and uncomfortable especially at busy times or when the staff are restocking the shelves, but this is common with Superdrug as a whole. The staff seem friendly enough, they always seem to have a good amount of people working the checkouts, meaning the queues to get served moves pretty quickly and the staff are friendly enough. TIP: Use their multi-buy offers which are often quite good, they can also be combined with other discounts including NHS/student discounts and the Superdrug loyalty card. 4*

Like the other stores, the lighting, layout and aesthetic are all a bit of an eyesore but the low prices mean it's constantly bustling. As well as selling all the essential toiletries and beauty products you could need, there's a large section of the store devoted to perfume, skin care and make-up. Alongside big names like L'Oreal, Ulay and Elizabeth Arden, they also stock a small range of natural and organic products including hydrating lotions, body balms and exfoliators. At the rear of the store, there's a pharmacist and aisles packed with cold and flu remedies, vitamins, supplements and herbal tinctures like Rescue Remedy. In short, everything you need to keep healthy through the winter - apart from knitwear.

Though it's always, always great to have these services offered for free and with very little judgement, so close to halls, she did take exception at having to sit in the 'Corner of Shame'; two green chairs surrounded by leaflets. Anyway, Corner of Shame aside, this Lloyds sells everything you'll ever need, and almost always has deals on bubble bath. I swear the whole time this was my local pharmacy, Herbal Essences were on BOGOFs. They also stock all the, er, flavours of dry shampoo. The staff are all helpful and knowledgeable, and will give great advice on the cold/flu remedies, as well as other non-prescription sutff. As far as prescriptions go, they are efficient and quick, and when I ran out of the pill in first year, and didn't have time to go to the doctor, they happily dispensed me another pack (though at a charge) on the strength of past prescriptions etc. I thought this was a really nice touch; and it shows how helpful and nice the staff are.

I've never had one, but my mate did, a quick visit to Lloyds a month later and he was fine. Not for me that, I'm a stable man. I like the little pestle and mortar in there sign; it suggests there's something organic about it. It's a pharmacy, what else would you like to know?
