I'm ashamed that I waited so long to try this place out. This was one of the absolute best…read moresandwiches I've ever had. I will definitely be going back

While visiting Savannah we found Midtown Deli and Bagel Shop. It was located across the street…read morefrom our hotel. We went there twice. Once for lunch and once to pick up breakfast before our trip home. Their bagels are delicious. The first day I had a bagel with "lox" and cream cheese and my husband had chicken salad. He loved the sandwich. I quoted the lox, because it has become a generic name people give to smoked salmon. The truth is it was nova. Lox is very salty and when I saw that was the only option, I was confident it wouldn't be salty. It wasn't. The sandwich was perfect. They have 2 options, platter or just the opened face sandwich. The open faced sandwich was a little less money and it was nice to see an option without paying platter price. They didn't skimp on the salmon. I ended up taking the other 1/2 back to hotel any my husband and I shared the next morning. I call the portion enough for 2 or for just my kid who loves smoked salmon. The morning we left Savannah we got a bagel with "lox" for my daughter and one for me to share with my husband. He got a bagel with lox spread and then took 1/2 my salmon and we both had plenty. Service was friendly and it's quick serve. The size is small but was very clean. It's definitely not the delis I am used to, but the bagels were great and the prices are reasonable. The will definitely return on our next trip.

Jordan and I have been going to Spanky's for years, and it's one of those places we keep coming…read moreback to because the food is always consistent and delicious. I'm obsessed with their chicken tenders and spuds. You can order anywhere from 4 to 20 pieces, and they always come out perfectly cooked crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. And the spuds? Just as good. But the real star for me is their ranch. They make it in-house, and honestly, it's the best ranch I've ever had. We also always get the house salad (with ranch, of course), which is fresh and a great addition to balance everything out. The place itself is cozy and has a laid-back vibe, perfect for a casual meal. Service can be a bit hit or miss, sometimes it's quick and attentive, other times a little slow. On our last visit, it seemed like there was only one server handling all the tables, which made things take longer than usual. It was a Sunday, so understandable, but having more staff would definitely improve the experience for both customers and employees. Overall though, the food keeps us coming back every time. If you're craving great chicken tenders and amazing ranch, this spot is hard to beat.

As a local that moved away and came back to visit, I immediately suggested Spankys for visiting…read morefriends and family. Things that went well: the food was delicious, the alcoholic drink was good, we didn't have to wait to be seated. Three of us ordered the classic chicken tenders with spuds. The honey mustard was delicious as always. One in the party got the Spank-adilla which was their twist on a quesadilla. It was also delicious. Things that didn't go well: When we arrived the hostess didn't greet us, just asked the number and then motioned for us to follow them. A friendly smile would have gone a long way. Our waitress would disappear and it made paying checks a little difficult. The women's bathroom was absolutely disgusting. I'm talking clogged toilet, toilet paper on the floor. If I wasn't about to go on myself I'd have held it. The men's bathroom wreaked of urine and was too dark for a bathroom setting. The bread and hot cheese was overpriced at $10 as it closely resembled the nacho cheese sauce you can buy at Sam's Club and the bread wasn't even sliced on one of the loaves. We resorted to tearing it apart. I felt like the chicken tenders were pretty small (see picture for example).

My boyfriend and I like going around finding new local places to try when we're out of town and the…read morelocation of the place is great, along with good parking. They did have a sign saying they are open 24 hours as well. There are plenty of signs throughout the restaurant when you walk in letting you know of upcharges (because of the egg shortages) and if you're paying with a card, which we were fine with cause we saw it before we sat down. We were greeted with friendly faces and sat pretty quickly. It was pretty busy in there! 2 elderly women serving and 1 cook. It took about 45mins-1hour to get our food, but it was pretty good for a breakfast sandwich especially the bread it was served on. It was hot and ready. We understand when it get's busy like that it'll take a little longer to be served. The only issue we had was my boyfriend never got a refill on water nor I on our coffee. Again, I'll say because of how busy it was in there. I would come back and try this place again. I loved the nostalgic setting this place has and hope that they keep it like this as time goes on and repairs/updates needed. Truly don't see many diner's like this anymore. The bathrooms are for customers only & we did use them. They were clean as well & cleanliness inside was well-maintained.
