While visiting some friends in Chile they brought us to Doña Time to experience some authentic Chilean cuisine. Doña Tina is something of a celebrity in Chile, so it was cool that we got to meet her in the way out.
The restaurant itself is located outside the main bustle of Santiago and has a cool treehouse outdoorsy kind of vibe. While the bathrooms were not very clean, it was incredibly busy as we were there during the national holiday in September.
There are dancers that come around every so often and dance the cueca, and there are also guitar players that will serenade you (don't forget to tip them!)
As for the food, it was very good. I had the chicken soup, which was basically half a chicken in broth with pumpkin and some other vegetables. Other than the fact that I had to deconstruct my own chicken, it was excellent. Almost everyone else loved their food too, although some of the American were unused to the portion sizes (shocking, right?). The bread and butter/jam/spreads were also excellent. read more
