I've been going to Doxa for about 4 years now. To date, I've admired the consistency of its leadership, the focus on the gospel, and the constant highlighting of the fact that the Bible is all about Jesus. It's refreshing to see a church community whose leadership not only delivers a banger of a message every Sunday, but actually practices what they preach throughout the week. It's refreshing to see a set of God-centered leaders that continuously humble themselves and remind the church that they are in the same boat as we are. That they are no better than we are. That they are JUST AS LOST as we are...and only found in Jesus Christ. More recently at Doxa, being a young adult myself, I've been super encouraged & excited to see the growth in the Young Adults/Young Professionals ministry. Strangers are turning into friends. Friends are starting to feel like family. "Family", in my understanding, is beginning to be exactly equal to "church". I believe that God works all over the place all the time. But man do I feel His hand & presence a little extra at Doxa. Super grateful for this community. read more

my church went to summer camp with them and they bullied us and bossed us around we had to wear shorts that went past our knees and if we didn't comply we had to wear a big black shirt like wtff bully church did not feel welcome they didnt wanna sit with us at dinner i did not feel the love of god when interacting with them!!! read more

Doxa is a place where Jesus is at the center, and the gatherings are intellectually rich, theologically sound, and emotionally engaging. The gathering isn't just a sermon, but an opportunity to gather as the Church to grow to be more like Jesus together. I trust all of the pastors and leaders there, and not just because they do the right things, but because I have personally witnessed their vulnerability and humility, and I see how they are continuing to pursue Jesus, and pursue a life that looks more like him, and they desire for others to experience the same. Practically speaking, the kids ministry is great, and my kids love it, so not only does it give us an opportunity to focus on the gathering, but they are actually excited to go every week! The church is also very good at connecting new people with a small group (MC) where they will feel comfortable and grow. Also, they serve great coffee. :) read more

Gospel centered preaching, worship is gospel centered/genuine & GOOD, staff have genuine lives of pursuing Jesus. Childrens ministry is greatl and is getting better & better and my kids LOVE it, youth and young adults programs seem to be thriving and there is an openness to the community. If you want to learn about Jesus and gain community - this is the spot. They seem to be growing in diversity among leadership too! A rare occurrence in the PNW! :-) read more

By far the most cult-like church I've ever experienced. They actively encourage young adults to break ties with their parents. There are many lovely true Christian people going here, but all the good sermons in the world will not make up for the lack of love shown by the elders or the non-biblical way in which family members are manipulated. The church is all about control, slander, cronyism, back-stabbing, shunning, favoritism, and threatening church discipline. Forget obtaining the attention of any actual elder. Biblical reconciliation is NOT practiced or sought. Every aspect of communication is controlled closely by the church. read more

Great church, right in the heart of downtown Bellevue, terrific building with great artwork/imagery for each series, love the worship at the end every Sunday, tons of parking (including the adjacent multi-story parking structure), and heart changing messages straight from God's Word. One visit was quite enough. Not a friendly or welcoming church, no, not at all. I asked someone in the lobby where I might find a Bulletin, his curt reply was in essence, We don't have bulletins, it's all on your phone, just watch what's projected on the screen inside for events and text if you're interested. I was stunned, my phone? Really? Where am I, at a sports arena? Yikks! Well, since I was already there I went to the service out of curiousity. It was one of the top three worst church expriences I've ever had, but then I'm ony 32, so likely there's more out there (though, I sincerely hope not). From the worship to the pastor's message which was delivered a bit too fast. He talked a lot, and I suppose he likes to hear the sound of his own voice, because he spent the entire time hearing himself deliver a canned message with precious little substance. When I got home I looked up the Greek Word doxa, this is what I found: "Doxa is a Greek word meaning common belief or popular opinion, from which are derived the modern terms of orthodoxy and HEREODOXY. Used by the Greek rhetoricians as a tool for the formation of argument by using common opinions, the doxa was often manipulated by sophists to persuade the people, leading to Plato's condemnation of Athenian democracy." "HEREODOXY" is a word that means: "Contrary to or different from an acknowledged standard or an established religion." True enough, it is far and away from traditional churches, so far that I can't help but wonder how they may have messed up Traditional Scripture found in God's Word. My recommendation: if you don't have really good knowledge of the Bible, stay away from Doxa lest you be led astray. I suggest you read Matthew 7:15 in the New Testament, it's part of the Sermon on the Mount. This verse begins the section warning against false prophets. ... Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's. clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Enough said, I rest my case. Be blessed and beware. read more

Being stuck in Bellevue due to the corona, I searched online for a church in the area, and found Doxa's beautiful and informative website. I attended only once on a Sunday morning (before all meetings were shut down for the virus). I found friendly, welcoming people, and food for my soul. From the girl sitting next to me, to the little group that I asked to join to pray together after communion, to the gal at the Information Desk in the lobby, everyone was helpful and also followed through on what they said they would do. I ended up returning on Wednesday eve for the prayer meeting, and had the same experience. During the day on Wednesday someone from a small group called me to welcome me, because the Information Desk had contacted her about me. The worship was Christ-centered and tastefully done, the sermon meaty, and communion meaningful. I felt I connected with Christ and His people at Doxa. It was exactly the refreshment my weary soul needed. read more

I have been a part of Doxa for 3 years now and am constantly reminded of what initially attracted me to the community. The leadership is strong at it's core and seems to genuinely care about how the church effects people's lives - both inside and outside the church walls. There is a clear focus and emphasis on genuine community and will go great lengths to make sure each member gets connected. I highly recommend giving Doxa a consideration! read more

Its a wonderful place to find community if you don't have problems in your life and just want a place to coexist. However, their community is skin deep. If you happen to disagree with the way they run things they will erase you from every board, and tell you to talk 1 on 1. It seems that parroting one popular message is more important to them than keeping their community, so if you are looking for a church that will be there for you when you are doubting, please find somewhere else. read more

Be wise of doxa church on my one and only first-hand visit. They are culty rude and disrespectful.

My wife and I (we are in our 60s) have been attending this church for some 4 years. Enjoy the teaching and the sermons, the friendly and humble, all encompassing without compromise of the Word. This church has no bulletins indeed, nor am I aware of the need to have to use the phone for anything but contacting the church for a topic or another that is being presented in the intros. The music is extremely well done and inspiring. What attracts me to Doxa is how they keep the message relevant to present day, but their analysis of scripture is deep, going back to the greek source of words and their meanings, explaining how translations can vary. It's welcoming for newbies and deep enough for those who have studied for years. read more

I have been coming to Doxa for over 10 months. The preaching here is phenomenal! Both Pastor Jeff and Pastor Justin do a great job preaching the Gospel and the grace of God. However sound the theological preaching may be, it is not the main reason why I attend Doxa. I come here for the people and the environment. Doxa is a place where you can not know much about Jesus or Christianity and they welcome you in without any judgement. It is a place where you are free to doubt and have a messy life, and are safe enough to be transparent about it. They have ways of getting you plugged in quickly through things such as, their Pastor's Lunch, the Connect Desk, and Missional Communities. You will gain friends quickly and feel cared for right away. It really is a place for people from all spectrum's of closeness with God. You can be someone exploring Christianity or have been a Christian for 20+ years and you will fit in! I love it here! read more
