I really like this church because the Pastor is not afraid to speak the bold truth of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Yes, God loves the world so much that Jesus was the sacrifice, the propitiation for our sins. But as the Bible says, does that mean we should continue to sin just because we can say "oh well, my sins are forgiven". Paul was divinely inspired to write by God, says no, we should do our best to not continue to sin out of our love for God. Our actions should show that we are led by the Holy Spirit which makes us NOT want to sin. The pastors at this church go by the Word of God, not by what makes us "feel good". God is always repulsed by sin, God has never changed on that. The penalty for sin has always been death. But God sent our Savior to die for our sins and we must believe in Him as our Lord and Savior, the Creator of this world. I love this church because it follows the Bible and not what sin-natured humans (all of us) want the church to say to fit what we want. I am addressing this to the person who doesn't like the fact that the Pastor wrote an article about how homosexuality is wrong. Well the Pastor did not just come up with this on his own. He is following what the Word of God tells us. It tells us in BOTH Testaments that it is an abomination to God. It is the Pastor's DUTY to speak the truth! Romans 1:26-28 "For this reason God gave them over to dishonorable passions. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. Likewise, the men abandoned natural relations with women and burned with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. Furthermore, since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, He gave them up to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done...." This church has a beautiful pipe organ and a beautiful choir. I love their choice between traditional and modern church music, everyone is happy this way. They have outstanding children and teen groups. They also have awesome Bible studies, I could go on and on. The pastor's sermons are so good that I can remember some of them many years later. I really can't think of any negatives about this church, our faith has really grown and developed. On his own, my husband was part of a prison ministry (apart from this church) until covid but there are lots of ways to participate in church activities and of course in reaching out to others. May God continue to bless this church, the people working hard to make connections with everyone, and the congregation. Also in regard to Barbara's statement "Jesus Christ Loves and invited All people at God's Houses or Churches......" Yes, each and every person on earth is invited to become a follower of Christ. But there is a BIG however.... I am referring to 1 Corinthians chapter 5 where one of the "brothers" of the church, a believer, was involved in sexual immorality. Here is the entire chapter and they are talking about a believer here. "It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and sexual immorality of such a kind as does not exist even among the Gentiles, namely, that someone has his father's wife. You have become arrogant and have not mourned instead, so that the one who had done this deed would be removed from your midst. For I, on my part, though absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged him who has so committed this, as though I were present. In the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are assembled, and I with you in spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus, I have decided to turn such a person over to Satan for the destruction of his body, so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord. Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough? Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed. Therefore let's celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people of this world. But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is a sexually immoral person, or a greedy person, or an idolater, or is verbally abusive, or habitually drunk, or a swindler--not even to eat with such a person. For what business of mine is it to judge outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church? But those who are outside, God judges. Remove the evil person from among yourselves." So if you are in a church that follows the Bible and they know about your sexual immorality before God, they are instructed to throw you out! The HOPE and PRAYERS of all of us are that those who are sexually immoral will turn away from their sin and come back to the loving arms of our Good Shepherd. I grew up in this church and the senior pastor's (Scott Dudley) intolerance toward gay people in the church really damaged me when I was a teenager. We were told that gay people should enter straight marriages. I know that there are people in the church that aren't anti-gay. But the church as an organization is anti gay and tells queer people go elsewhere. Other presbyterian churches accept gay people fully. This one just pretends to be tolerant. read more

As a non-believer for most of my life this church has brought me into the center. The Pastor Scott Dudley is incredible. He is open funny and very realistic. He relates to the struggles of many people and continues to push individuals and the church into the next phase. We moved to Spain and we're not able to find a church even close to what we experienced with community and religion at Bell press. So instead we listen to the podcast and continue to be part of the community from far away. Bellevue has a reputation of being a City full of Rich snobby people I would encourage you to shed that stereotype when you enter the doors of Bell Prez and you will find lovely wonderful people there, if you really want to. read more

After a sermon series on love, there is now one regarding community healing and racial reconciliation. The love of Christ flows freely from the pastors within this church. If it weren't so, my family and I would have been homeless about 6 months ago. The church responded warmly when I needed some financial help during a time of employment issues. We have worked through those issues, but the staff is still there and calls to check on how we are doing. I appreciate the spirit of the staff here. The sermons are inspiring and grounded in the word of God. The pastors challenge the congregation to follow Jesus, and His word. The pastors' continually remind the congregation to follow the heart of Christ and not a predetermined political or social agenda. If you do that, and listen with hearing ears, you will be challenged and inspired. read more

We have attended Bellevue Presbyterian Church for about 10 years. Every week the pastors speaks the truth about God's love, and urge us to reach out to share that love with others. The sermons here are supportive for all of us as we travel this road of life. The worship music is inspiring and meditative, helping us focus on the true purpose of our worship services. There are many groups offered to help people of all ages to get connected in the life of our church. Alright, a first review. Brass Band Northwest plays here four times a year and I enjoy my visit each time. The people are friendly and inviting, the senior pastor humorous yet challenging, if not a bit unsettling, in his message. This is not your parent's Presbyterian church! Fantastic music program, both traditional and contemporary. Well grounded in reformed theology, the pastor is always trying to break the congregation free of complacency and affluence ( which can often lead to a conservative view of scripture) and always brings Grace front and center. Now, the challenge is to bring forth a loving response and call to action emanating from that Grace. read more

This was in many ways still is a wonderful Church. One of the issues is the senior pastor tries to turn his sermons into a lightly disguised political rant. He is skilled at this but frankly instead of getting the message of God's love be prepared to be lectured to in every sermon about inequality. This church has a modern worship at 6pm, anyone would feel comfortable there, meaning church goers or first timers. The music, the casual atmospher and the straight to the point "fun" light hearted gospel message gives a great image of God and his grace minded thinking to our " way of life in 2012. After going through a particularly ugly divorce, I attended a divorce recovery workshop in 2009 that this church offers on a regular basis. Due to the nature of the divorce, I was very concerned about keeping my address private for safety reasons. To register for the workshop, I provided my address, but assumed that my data would be kept safe, especially due to the nature of the workshop. Months after the class was over, I received an email from the church, with a PDF attachment, announcing that the new church directory was now available. My new home address was included in the PDF directory that was sent out to who knows how many thousands of people. I was HORRIFIED. The church apologized and said they would look into changing their policies, but the damage was done. I was not a member, never regularly attended their church, and only went for the divorce workshop. I was never notified that my contact info would be shared. I found it very shocking that in this day and age, a church would do this to people reaching out to the church for help. I have not attended any programs that the church offered since, for obvious reasons. I recommend that anyone providing any information at all to this church ask for their policies on privacy from the main office. Do not rely on volunteer church members who also incorrectly assume that info provided to the church is secure. read more

Bellevue Presbyterian is a large, vibrant church with amazing worship offering both traditional and modern services and live online streaming. Messages are in English and the senior pastor lectures from a unique perspective as a former atheist intellectual in academia. Sermons share the Bible and story of Jesus with humor and real life relevancy. Music is exceptional. Traditional worship is like a large classical concert with 100+ person choir, 100+ pipe organ, brass, strings, drums, handbells and more. Modern worship is like an intimate contemporary concert with guitars, violin, drums, and singers. People in the congregation are diverse ranging from old, young and in-between, different ethnicities, long-time citizens, new immigrants and international visitors, occupations in both public and private sector areas. Opportunities to find community, based on interests are numerous (deacons, elders, education, libraries, missions, families, singles, sports, young adults, men and women groups). Because it is a large campus, YOU have to make the effort to get involved in small groups, classes, courses etc., otherwise you can slip in and out anonymously among the crowd.
