I've been attending DCC since I moved to Seattle in late 2021. I had a list of Acts 29 churches to visit while searching for a home church, and DCC happened to be the closest one, so I started there. After seeing the care with which the Word is handled and the emphasis on sound doctrine, I didn't bother checking out anywhere else on my list. Five years later, DCC still hasn't disappointed. I've really appreciated how many ways there are to get plugged in: Connect Groups for shared interests, Community Groups for closer ties with people in the same or nearby neighborhoods, Discipleship Groups for smaller, more personal circles, and various serving teams. I've especially valued being able to lean on the wisdom and encouragement of other believers during different seasons of life. Can't recommend DCC enough; I'm looking forward to the next five years and beyond! read more

This church is such a blessing. My husband and I have been attending for 5 years. its a place to grow in the knowledge of Jesus through the faithful Bible teaching and be blessed through the worship. I have also found a church family with whom we can "walk" through life together. There's a wonderful children's ministry to bring Bible lessons and worship to all ages. read more

I have been a member for over 10 years. Its diverse congregation is filled with energetic, personable men and women seeking to grow through God's grace. You are welcome here no matter your socioeconomic status. Doors are open to all, even if you are just curious about Jesus. It doesn't matter what Sunday that you attend; you will always hear a message taught from, about, and through the Word. read more

I've attended many churches in the past, but have grown the most at Downtown Cornerstone Church. Solid, humble teaching, good fellowship, actively involved congregation, mission oriented. read more

My husband and I have been apart of Downtown Cornerstone Church for 11 years now and our experience grows sweeter each year. We have experienced so much growth and encouragement in our walks with the Lord through this church. DCC has strong expositional preaching, a culture of community and learning, and Elders and Members who care deeply about each other and the city of Seattle. read more

i moved to Seattle in part to attend DCC. I have not regretted that change. God has used DCC to show me that I'm a sinner in need of Christ and that the gospel is for people like me. It's not perfect, but it's so gospel-centered and Christ - exalting and I believe that's really what matters. I thank God so much for DCC and all those who faithfully and sacrificially serve. I pray for God's protection over this place as I know He is working in our midst! read more

Being new to the city, I visited it since it had mostly positive reviews and is close to my residence. However, I'm on the fence about this church. 1. Like others have said, it is not particularly welcoming. Aside from one man who came to say hi because he mistook me for someone else, no one introduced themselves and the greeters didn't greet but just handed out the day's bulletin. I've never been to a church before where the church didn't go out of their way to make guests feel welcomed. I hear this is what social life in Seattle is like in general, but the church is supposed to be "set aside"... Like someone else said, had I been an unbeliever, I would have probably left within the first 20 minutes. 2. Worship was short and contemporary, which is just not my thing - I like praise and worship to get me in the right space to received the Word. 3. The cut to communion was quick and unexpected. It was also done individually and in quiet. That all was new to me. Unsure if this is pandemic related or not. 4. What really got me was the man that spoke inserting his personal stance on defunding the police and trying to twist it to align with the Bible. Completely unnecessary, out of place, and a turnoff (and based on what he was saying, he doesn't actually understand what defunding the police means). The rest of the message was great, but that was enough to make me leave early and think twice about returning. read more

Came here to worship during my vacation and had a generally favorable impression. The sermon was Bible-based rather than story- or anecdote-based. There was acknowledgment of sin, and proclamation of the gospel. And while I prefer traditional worship, which lends itself more to congregational singing than performance, the contemporary worship is done pretty well here. The musicians are talented and the song choices have theological depth. That said, a few critiques. First, echoing a previous Yelper, the people aren't especially welcoming. No one really said hi or engaged in conversation. Second, the administration of the Lord's Supper was abrupt and confusing. They need to explain to visitors what's going to happen and why. Personally, I think they should get rid of the practice of intinction, too. Third, I think the pastor soft-peddled his handling of sin, using coded rather than straightforward language. I know it's gotta be hard in a place like Seattle to preach against sin, but for that very reason, it should be done strongly. read more

This is the first place in a long time that both me and my girl have felt safe having dealt with Religious Trauma Syndrome along with seeing how some of the people have acted in their professional life has allowed us to feel welcomed long before we knew about this place. One of the reasons why we feel safe is that Adam does soft hand leadership and is held to a standard of being accountable to others while in position at DCC. The Community group have been welcoming along with the staff there and the fact that for someone to become a pastor is a process of one year plus all the checks and balances involved in them becoming a pastor has allowed us to feel like home read more

Great church with welcoming people. I'm fairly new here, but I can tell this place will become home. They are part of the A29 network, and are a fairly young church. For Seattle, a pretty diverse group of people. Honest and Biblical teaching, gospel-centered, strong emphasis on community. Hard to go wrong with those pillars. read more

I visited this church recently. I already belong to a church, but was invited by a friend to check it out. I was impressed. The sermon was relevant, the people were welcoming and friendly, and the presence of God was definitely there. Lots of love! Considering how agnostic Seattle is, its amazing that they have such a big congregation. I wish them well, and will visit again. read more

I came from out of town to visit this church.I hung round before and after church with a coffee, and not one person said hello or introduced themselves to me, apart from a brief handshake from the person who sat next to me.I felt invisible.I introduced myself to a couple of people as I walked round, but they didn't try to make conversation or even try to introduce me to anyone else.As a lone female, I'm not very intimidating, and I look similar to the general church crowd there. Please ask your congregation to say hello to people they don't know, especially those alone. Its quite intimidating to walk in the door of a new church, and I felt disappointed that I wasn't made to feel very welcome.Had I been a non believer, I would be very put off church, which is sad.Otherwise, the sermon was good as was the worship. read more

only visited this church once but seems very welcoming, gospel-centered, and community focused. we found this church through the 9 marks network and were very encouraged by the sermon on James 5:19-20. the pastor's message was expositional, explained the gospel, and focused a lot on application. the pastor spoke with humility and it was very convicting. worship style was contemporary with gospel-centered lyrics. we will definitely come back to visit if we return to the area! read more

Have attended their service once. Church was very welcoming but worship could be better.

I live in Michigan and am not able to drive right now. I found Downtown Cornerstone through the spirit a few years back when I needed them most and started to listen to the sermons and was amazed at how much I have learned and the gift that the spirit has upon this church for knowing God's supremacy , love, and compassion. I have a home church here and I consider my other home church to be Downtown Cornerstone. I have called for prayer and was immediately being prayed for and they even send me a email once in a while to see how I am. I believe this church is annoited and I am so grateful that I found a family all the way from Michigan in Seattle! Jesus is awesome. How he connects us to other true Christians! So glad I found Downtown cornerstone in the deepest valley! read more
