The homeless encampment supported by the Cathedral.
    Ian D.

We went to the 9am service. Masks and social distancing were required. The music was great. The liturgy was great. The sermon was great. It wasn't the best architecture, which isn't the fault of those currently running it. I did think it was odd that the architecture ENHANCED the grey misery that is Seattle's weather, rather than contrast it. The homeless encampment was humbling. We all should be doing more, and St Mark's is. It can't be an easy outreach, but they are doing it. Bless you, St Mark's!

Before the My Brightest Diamond show.

WOW. I went here for the first time to see My Brightest Diamond and was blown away by the beauty and acoustics of the space. Shana's voice and theatrics also lent themselves well to their surroundings. We didn't have any problem securing good seats because we arrived quite early. I noticed a lot of folk brought fat pillows from home so they could enjoy the show from the steps. One man brought a pair of sleeping bags and methodically folded them over to make one thick pallet for himself. Parking was also easy though I can see their lot filling up on busier days. I'll definitely go back to check out the Compline chant one day. I've heard SO much about it.

He leads a solid growing church founded in good biblical theology. I guess you can say Pastor Judah reads his Bible well. Additionally, I have been apart of the City Church since 2009 and couldn't imagine going anywhere else...(have gone with friends to their churches and they've ended up switching to city more often than not). I have been blessed to meet an ever growing community of AWESOME truly happy people that are more encouraging and genuine than I have ever experienced before. This all despite what season good or bad that they may be in the midst of!!!! I recently switched to this campus as I felt it was a better fit for Young Professionals than the University Campus was... as well as its closer to where I recently move--in Ballard.. Super fun loving environment!!! I can comfortably and confidently give this church my seal of approval if you're looking for a sanctuary and church to call home the Seattle area... multiple campus' across the city!!! Anyone and everyone is welcome with no judgement whatsoever! This church has more heart and service than anything ive ever seen...its inspiring! I would suggest this church for anyone looking for a seeker sensitive gospel focused on who Jesus is and the love of God/how that applies to your life!!!! Multi ethnic and friendly for people of all types, shapes, colors, and sizes. Located smack in the middle of the University Greek System at UW. Parking is rough but where isn't it in Seattle!?:) Last 2 cents, check out some of the sermons on their website or youtube if you're hesitant... definitely worth checking out!!!!

Today is also my mother's memorial, and what a fitting to attend church, the same St. James where I used to attend in my childhood years. I thought it was a beautiful church, the minute I entered. The usher who helped me find more candles, so I can light one in my mom's memorial was very helpful. We were able to park at the school parking lot, across the street. They have several clean restrooms! I took many photos and videos! I'd like to come back!

There was about to be a service held here and so we decided not to go in but we were intrigued and wanted to look around in the inside, admire tge architecture and art. This December we finally got the opportunity to return as a Medieval Women's Choir was performing here. Steve was eager to go and so we seized that opportunity and went to take a look inside and to enjoy the choir. The choir was very enjoyable and lasted about an hour so it wasn't too lengthy. The Cathedral was beautiful also. But on a comparative aspect is a bit more plain to the last Catholic venues I visited which was in Santa Fe, New Mexico. But despite that it is a beautiful place and should the opportunity arise one should go in to admire the architecture for those that aren't Catholic or particularly religious.
