I had the confirmation which they sent me and they made a mistake on their end and double booked the room, so we were displaced from having a room for Christmas. We called around and found the Castle Inn and spoke with Debbie who had a room available and saved our Christmas from being ruined. She gave us a discount for having to be stressed out by the other business which was sweet of her. She made us feel welcome and we loved our stay at her place. We loved having the balcony overlooking Main Street and seeing all the beautiful lights. We had the best stay at the castle inn and will definitely be back. Thank you for your hospitality, Debbie. I recommend everyone to stay at the Castle Inn while in Helen, GA.

The girl said she would put it up but I just did it since it was easy. There was also a small hole under the sink (2 sinks ... one in with toilet and shower... and the other outside the bathroom... perfect) in the shower room. Nothing came into the room. Be prepared that due to Covid it's best if you brought some Clorox wipes with you in case you want to wipe your room down. Also if you want a bag for b'fast you need to fill out the form at the front desk the night before. I felt safe in the hotel. The river was soothing eve in winter.

There's an art gallery, wine tasting bar, and restaurant right in the same building. The rooms are delightful - clean and cozy, and the shampoos and soaps smell great. We had a comfortable sleep on a queen bed with flannel sheets. Zero noise - not having upstairs "neighbors" helped there! The restaurant below - Bourbon St. Grille - closes early, so no one will be keeping you up late. We heard that Sara's Room was haunted, but other than the overhead light turning itself on sometime in the middle of the night, we didn't experience anything spooky. The Hall House hotel is an historic building and they're very upfront about the fact that there is no elevator access to the upper floors. The staircase was not steep and perfectly easy to navigate, and is well-lit and feels safe. The check in and out process was handled remotely, and if there are any employees on site, we didn't encounter them. No issues though, and we'll probably be back!

The facilities is quite small but they have a lil fire pit and some games you can play outside if the weather is good. The ladies on the reception were very friendly. The only couple things I didn't like was that they cabins are too close to each other and there ia no privacy. And the other thing was the wall heater was set to a temperature and we couldn't make it warmer. They had a space heater but it was a very cold night and I was still cold inside.

The bed definitely needs new pillows, as the current ones are very lumpy. Upon arrival, the concierge was very welcoming and made a special point to explain how the hotel has a partnership with Paul Thomas Chocolates in Dahlonega. She gave us a coupon that said (and she very explicitly said) it was good for one free piece of chocolate bark *per person* in the party, so my partner and I were entitled to a total of 2 free pieces of chocolate. When we took the coupon to the chocolate shop, the young man working there refused to honor it. He said he had always been told to give one piece of chocolate only. We asked him to read the coupon again because this was not what it stated, nor was it what the concierge said. He still refused. My boyfriend told him that the partnership needed to fix their coupons if they weren't going to honor them. Anyway, the cabin was clean and cozy, and the bed was very comfortable other than the pillows. Sheets were buttery soft. Overall I was happy with our stay.

I loved the windows looking out across the mountain. Not sure we have ever had such a beautiful view anywhere else. We enjoyed getting up in the morning and sitting in the hot tub to watch the sunrise over the mountain. It was so nice to have the hot tub right off the bedroom. The cabin had every thing we needed...charm, coziness, cookware, coffee maker, beautiful view, hot tub, jacuzzi. We could tell that a lot of thought was put into this place. We would definitely go back! We were a a short drive away from Clarkesville which had nice food, and of course we loved visiting the Old Sautee store, and coffee place across the road. For us, this was a great place to wind down, reconnect, and enjoy the quiet. We had no planned agenda except to escape the tyranny of the urgent and to enjoy our marriage. Thank you Laura for making this possible for us.
