If you got kids, or if you have the buds of a kid, this is a great place for soft, textureless, tasteless hotdogs.

The food is hot and you are called to the window to get your order. The burrito was kind of pricey, decent size and just ok. It's served with a few chips. The chili cheese dogs had liquid white cheese, homemade chili with beans. The hot dog was hot inside (normally I've been getting cold inside at other places) however the chili just didn't thrill me. Okkkkkkkk I'm a chili dog snob so it was just my personal preference. Both meals came with a 20 oz pop. The menu is VERY small and limited but if the food is good you don't need a lot of items. Plus the husband & wife are doing everything alone. I really really hope they succeed in this business. I give them so much credit for trying and chasing their dream. We probably will not go back because we weren't thrilled. There have been a lot of positive comments on our local social pages. I've heard their shakes are amazing - give the place a try

My wife had ordered the food through the QR code provided on the sign, after placing the order it listed they would bring our food to the car; during the order it even asked for our location? Instead we received zero confirmation that the order was ready, as it sat outside waiting to be picked up. We were expected to rummage through a pile of orders/bags in order to find our name on the ticket; not too practical. Definitely wouldn't waste money here, especially when they market themselves to be something they aren't.

First of all, I'm not usually one to review food from my own hometown. Much like a sweet food made…read morefrom fruit and sugar boiled to thick constancy that doesn't belong to me, it's not my jam. But I'm beginning to think it's one thing to review a local eatery that isn't your typical franchise owned restaurant just might not be a bad idea. I saw this place open up late summer and logged it away in the Restaurants I Want to Try (But Will Probably Forget About) folder. Well guess what. I remembered. The real reason is partly because I was introduced to a real Chicago dog while on a food trip in the Windy City. So now was my opportunity to try a Chicago dog from somewhere NOT Chicago. Also, I saw they served Italian beefs. Or is it beeves? And we all know I'm an 18th century street walker for some Italian beeves. Its location is pretty spot on for a place like this. Lakeside, is what it's called. The area. Not the restaurant. Pay attention. Inside is spacious and clean. Plenty of booths (boofs? Booves?) for hotdog consumption. It's an order at the counter type of place. Classic restaurant. I ordered a Chi Dog with a side of chili cheese fries. Did you see the photos of that dog? It tastes exactly like it looked. Like magic. Dog, tomato slice, pickle spear, sports peppers, relish, mustard. I grew WAY up since just ketchup. But I still haven't grown out of eating cold hotdogs. Nothing beats a midnight snack of a cold dog. Anyways. This thing is a beast. Not for the faint of heart or tiny of mouth. This is one of those dogs that once you start eating, you can't put it down because it's just so messy. In a beautiful way. True story coming up, my first bite launched my pickle spear out the tail end of my dog. I might lie about a lot of things, but never the evacuation of a pickle from a hotdog. If you like Chicago or hotdogs or food or things in general, get this dog. My side order of chili cheese fries looked like something out of an art gallery. They used crinkle cut fries, which are god tier fries. They also loaded it up with chili, which I feel everybody else usually lacks what the "proper" amount of chili is. But I will sadly have to dock a point or two for Chili Flavor. It seemed to lack a little bit of...something. It tasted better than plain ground beef, but something a little under chili. It wasn't bad at all. It's meat and cheese on fries. They were more Chili Adjacent Cheese Fries. The Detroit City soda is refreshing. Let me mention, when ordering an Italian beef, it is a bit spicy. You can omit the hot giardiniera though. Try it for yourself, you won't regret it!
