    Tortas Yucatán - Torta cubana

I'm definitely surprised there isn't many reviews for this place on Yelp. My wife and I came here…read moreafter looking at their google reviews and were blown away. She got a chicken torta and I got a Cubano. Both were beyond what we expected. Everything tasted delicious, the Cubano was filled with the best chorizo I've ever had, the milanesa was great without being overly salty, the ham wasn't prepackaged from the looks of it and the lomo was so damn good. The bread was toasted perfectly and didn't have any stale taste to it. The chicken torta was made extra crispy to my wife's satisfaction. She loves a very toasted bun and that's what she got without it being burned to a crisp. The chicken was fresh and she didn't get any bad cuts of chicken. Finally let's talk about the salsa. Now I'm very particular about salsa, I've had a lot of it from a lot of different places. This salsa came bright green, almost unnaturally so. But boy does it pack a delightfully flavourful, rich, and spicy taste! The pickled onions were delicious and the pickled jalapenos and carrot were typical of any but that's neither here nor there. Overall this place is great, we've come here once every time we've crossed and have yet to have a bad experience. Would highly recommend.

This deli opens at 8am. We were actually 2nd. in line for the doors to open. My friend and I lived many many years in NYC...deli rules. When it opened we were greeted and seated, we chose to sit inside though they did have a fairly big patio area. Service was excellent all around from the hostess who sat us to Christina who took good care of us making sure water and coffees were refill promptly and was very friendly. My friend ordered his favorite, a hot Pastrami sandwich on lightly toasted rye. I ordered my most favorite deli item, the Chopped Liver appetizer. While we were waiting for our food, we were served the tradition Pickle Tray, YEAH!!!! The food came out and was all DELISH! My friend loved his pastrami sandwich and my chopped liver was good but could of used some chopped hard boiled egg, more onion and some salt.. but was still good. To note: We would definitely come again on an off hour where I would not have to wait. Atmosphere: Fairly large inside and patio, very Deli feel, huge bakery display to purchase. Service: excellent. Food: very good.

I got more than I was hoping for as I saw the great Yelp reviews and learned that it has even been featured on Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives"- my kind of place! The place is hopping- at lunch hour on a weekday the line was out the door but it is pretty efficient and moves quickly. Nice that there is a separate line for the bakery. If you're waiting for food, you'll want to check out all the delicious baked goods! It definitely has a casual vibe, nothing fancy but friendly service and it is more "diner" than "dive"! I got the french dip. A generous portion and I loved the sliced potato fries that it came with! Very tasty! Lots of other great Jewish deli dishes on the menu! I left with some cookies to take on my flight home, those were delightful as well. I'd definitely come back if I find myself in Palm Springs!

My go to is the Buffalo soldier, an absolutely fantastic sandwich. I drive 100+ miles for a clinic down the street for work occasionally and coming here is the highlight of the day. The space is bright and has good vibes throughout. It's hard to walk by the bakery counter first on your way to the deli line, everything looks so amazing! The deli line moves fast, they're quite efficient and friendly at the register. Most ordered sandwich is the Trump Card, but today I opted for the Mexican Marilyn Monroe on jalapeño focaccia (you have your choice between jalapeño focaccia or cranberry focaccia). The sandwich is unique with its freshly made chicken salad topped with bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato and a chipotle aioli. Pure perfection though it can get a bit messy (get extra napkins). Served with fresh dill pickle slice. I shared my sandwich with my BFF who shared her Trump Card, pretty tasty too! And we had fried pickles (really goo The team are seem happy to be there, smiling over the counter as they make sandwiches. I'd be happy and proud of myself if I was cranking out the best sandwiches around! We didn't leave without stopping by the bakery "Athena's" to pick up some cannolis, Dubai Chocolate Pastry, a peanut Butter Brownie Mousse and a Keylime Mousse. We took them to go (absolutely no stomach real-estate after the sandwiches). All were good but rich peanut butter brownie mousse stood out as our favorite!!! I do wish the bakery sold the jalapeño focaccia, I would have loved to have taken some home! I'll be back, often.

Ordered the New York style hot pastrami on rye with coleslaw and a Dr. Brown's Cream Soda. The pastrami was the highlight. Piled high, tender, and full of that classic deli flavor with just the right amount of richness. The rye bread held everything together well and had a nice bite to it. It's the kind of sandwich you have to take a second to look at before figuring out how to eat it. The coleslaw was fresh and crisp, a good balance to the sandwich, and the cream soda was cold and refreshing. Also ordered a slice of pistachio cake to go. Absolutely delicious. The place has that old school deli feel, busy but in a good way, and full of character. Service was friendly and efficient even with the crowd. Definitely a spot worth stopping at if you're in Palm Desert and want a proper deli sandwich.

Service was excellent. Seated immediately and ordering minutes later. Got extra cream cheese on request and our coffees were diligently refilled. The main attraction was the pastrami sandwich. Totally to my wife's taste, extremely lean and stacked high. She had to take half home. I tried an omelette with corned beef and loved it. The everything bagel was perfectly acceptable, not too "bready." So: service good, pastrami good, and bagel good. Everything good about a deli is covered.
