A few of my friends and I were visiting Park City for three days for our yearly boarding trip. On Saturday night, 4th of March, (our last night in town) a few of our friends wanted us to meet over at "Downstairs" Searched the spot online, "8AM - 2AM" Left No Name at about 12:45 to meet. Upon arrival, the bouncer says "we're done for the night." I asked why they said they were open till 2 online and he responded with "we are, but we stop taking people an hour before." Confused, I present the current time (12:50) which he aggressively responds, "Are you f**king serious bro?" Yes, yes I am f**king serious... bro. Trying to level on a respectful level I told him we had some friends inside that we hadn't seen in a couple of years and we were just to meet up for a drink. His response, "That's a cool story man." When I asked for his name he recommended I "turn around and don't come back." Alright man, I'll get a picture instead. (Attached) The only time I plan on returning to this establishment is solely to run into this bouncer again. I was in Park City for a bachelorette party last weekend and Downstairs was the spot to go for a little after dinner dancing. A few of the girls had organized a table, so when we arrived around 11pm, we were quickly ushered inside to reserved area. The staff at the club was great. There were a ton of bachelor parties going on and the guys kept coming by our table, but the bouncers were quick to guard our area. The waitress was on top of the bottle service, pouring champagne and vodka cocktails. They have to keep the vodka locked up at the table and only the waitress was able to poor it. Welcome to Utah! The music was not great and when I went over to the DJ to make a request, he kind of rolled his eyes and was not the friendliest. But other than the music, we had a great experience. read more

ASSAULTED BY BOUNCERS. Avoid this place at all cost. My brothers, their girlfriends, my fiancé and I unfortunately stumbled upon "Downstairs" last night. We paid our cover, walked down the stairs and were immediately approached by an incredibly intoxicated man, wearing plain clothing. He immediately began harassing us and trying to start an altercation with my brothers and when I told a bouncer about him, we found out that man was club manager, Seth Hill, who ordered us to leave. We complied, as the bar was a SAD EXCUSE FOR A CLUB anyway, and turned around to walk back up the stairs and get our cover refunded. As soon as we got back out onto the sidewalk, we were rushed by about 10 bouncers who jumped my two brothers, holding them on the ground in the middle of the street, kicking and punching them in the head. As I pleaded for them to stop I was pushed to the ground and knocked in the face leaving me with a black eye. They assaulted 5 of us that night (including two 115lb girls) and we all have documented photos of our injuries. The police are involved. Avoid at all cost. This place needs to be shut down. read more

Honestly the marketing is completely misleading for this place. It is shown a vibrant bustling night-place with lots of young people having lots of fun. We were hopeful. When we got there, the place was barren. With an 8-1 staff-customer ratio. Some of the only other patrons were old couples drinking out of wine glasses. We went to sit down and were told we couldn't sit in most all the seating areas because it was for food service only. In the pictures, a dance area is shown. In reallity the place is only seating. Not welcoming at all. There were 3 girls there who's only job was to stand in their super skimpy outfits and look pretty. A pretty sad attempt, objectifying women like that, is what I say. This is great for old couples who like the pretend they're young as well as feel superior by being in an 'exclusive club.' It was generic, empty, an just plain sad. Nice drinks, but don't waste your money here. A-list bar, far from I think. The only reason it gets 2 stars it because the staff wasn't mean, the drinks were good, and the place was clean. Try something more original Underground, you are a cookie-cut bad example of a club. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. As two of the maybe ten people in the place on a SATURDAY night, we tried to start the dance party and get the vibe going. First we were told to move out coats off of one of the "VIP" benches. Fine. We moved them to the bar top after discovering the coat check was $2... each item, including bags. Once on the dance floor again, as the only participants, the manager walked up to us, stopped us, and told us we needed to remove our coats from the bar top. He said we needed to check our coats, to which I logically responded, "we are like the only people here." So we paid for our drinks and left after complaining. Don't waste your time in this place. Not sure what to make of this place. We were given VIP passes by a woman at the tourist but they were of use to us because women get in free - and we're women. We left a really fun saloon to come dancing here, but there isn't much of a dance floor. Forget about sitting down. There were about 6 nooks with sofa's but they're roped off and cost $500. That may or may not include a bottle of vodka. We didn't ask because there were just 3 of us girls and only 2 of us were drinking. The "downstairs" room looks like a basement. In fact, it is a basement...with sofa's we couldn't afford to sit down at. The place is small too. I'm not sure what to make of this joint, except that it was less crowded than the 2 bars we'd been to earlier that evening. My guess is that men get lured here by the plethora of female promoters in leather underwear and bras. We stayed about 20 minutes. Not that it was a total suck fest, but we had better things to do, like sleep. read more

Sorry guys you need to step it up. When someone pays to get in your club, we expect to be treated as a guest and valued customer. My overall experience here was one of sincere disappointment. The staff did not treat us well, the drinks were mediocre at best and it was dead. Maybe it was just an off weekend but after seeing other reviews, this morning. Yeah it's an ongoing problem for them. You can have the best DJ's in the world show up at your doorstep but if your management and staff don't deliver a great experience then it's all for naught. Sorry this place wasn't worth the drive up from Salt Lake, the money we spent or the time we were there. I've had much better experiences elsewhere in Park City and will be trying other places this holiday season. I would suggest you do so to. read more

Please do not waste your time or money on this place! Make sure you do not check your coat. My friends and I checked 3 coats they gave us one little tag for all 3 coats. We stayed 15 min. We paid for watered down drinks. When we went to get our coats they would only give us one back. They held the other two hostage and said we had to wait until close to get them back! No body in the entire bar could understand why they were doing this. The door man is polite and helpful. The bartenders are nice. However the manager and boncers are as rude as can be. We went on a crowded Saturday night. Thank goodness that we paid for a table and bottle service, there was hardly any room to move on the dance floor. For Park City, I expected a more upscale crowd. I have been to the Downstairs many times over the course of the past 2 1/2 years. Seemed kind of out of place in Utah at first, but has definitely grown on me and other locals. I think they just remodeled because now there are photos of a really sexy girl on the walls and new backdrop on the stage. When you first walk in it's hard not to notice the staff dancing and having fun. Their cocktail servers can usually be found dancing on the tables and sofas or entertaining guests. I also have noticed that there is always the best looking crowd here, especially women. I don't know where they find them all! I have experienced the service just at the bar and at tables, including New Year's Eve 2011. Most recently, I got a table for my girlfriends and I on my birthday last week while Danny Masterson was djing. Not a lot of bars/clubs offer bottle service in SLC/Park City area, and even more difficult to find, somewhere that DOES IT RIGHT! This is hands down the best bottle service I've received at a nightclub and is comparitive to Vegas and L.A.!!!! The server was very friendly and attentive and wearing a sexy corset and short shorts.... she was cute, but also was nice even though it was a group of all women. (that's hard to find, usually cocktail servers are rude to female customers) We just got a bottle of vodka and danced the night away. On different occassions I've been in there is always good music (I'm a house music fan and I guess they play house every Friday night! and then do Top 40 on Saturdays). The server mentioned that they have djs from around the country come and dj monthly and mentioned that periodically you can find some A-list celebrities and pro sports players enjoying service at the tables too. Last week I also noticed they have a new cocktail menu with some yummy drinks, including some classic cocktails and a watermelon martini. During the week it's much slower, but I still like the ambiance regardless and I always try to stop in for an after-dinner drink when they're open and I'm on Main St. Overall, I think this is one of Park City's "diamonds in the rough" of bars. I always have a great time here and this is a must-stop by for a good nightlife if you're visiting or live in Park City. read more

The club's attendants even held our leftovers from dinner while we were here. The bartender was very friendly and created great Moscow mules. This used to be a cool bar. The Downstairs staff was super cool. Bartenders were always awesome. The guy at the door was always nice and not a dick like most bouncers. Now... apparently the owners got rid of everybody and brought in a new staff. It sucks. The bouncers act like it's an LA club and the bartenders don't care about anything. Smaller club, I reccomend getting a table, especially if it gets full. The dance floor is always a good time, everyone is dancing. Its fun because the cocktail ladies are always dancing on the furniture , thats always fun. Ita usually pretty packed, and crowded so keep that in mind. Drinks are cheap which makes me happy, and they have a really good drink menue. One of the bartenders recommend the cucumber cooler or something like that(minty drink) soooo good. This bar is like the only bar you can really get the club-esk vibe on mainstreet besides p.c live (expensive) and starbar. read more

Came to park city to watch Skler Grey. Beware they will lure you in with their marketing making you think there is going to be some great long concert. Well we arrived at 9:15 and I heard them tell one guy there where only 10 tickets left, well when he came to talk to us 1 min later he told us there were only 2 tickets left. Love the sales tactic! Well it worked because it made us think they may sell out of the concert so we better hurry up and buy them for $50 ea. We get in there and there is about 30 people on the place. If we would have known she wouldn't take the stage for 3 hrs we could have hit a Sundance movie and came back to watch Skyler sing. She didn't even take stage until almost 12 midnight! And she Sang 6 songs and it was over. Great singer cool little venue with very nice and helpful bar tenders but watch the front guys they are used car salesmen. BTW they tell you that you can't leave after you pay to get in. That so you buy their drinks for 3 hrs waiting for the talent to take stage for 18min. read more

I have read some of the previous reviews and I am surprised at what I have read. I have been living in Park City for 8 months and have gone to Downstairs dozens of times. The place well laid out, with a dance floor in the middle and seating around the edges of the dance floors. There are several VIP tables at the far end as well. The music has always been very good and the one of the owners DJ's as well. The selection of alcohols is good as well as the prices. There are many places in Park City that charge a lot, and I believe that Downstairs has achieved a good balance in terms of their pricing. As far as the doormen are concerned, I have only had pleasant experiences with them. They are friendly when you speak with them and when I needed a cab the doorman offered to get me one. Definitely one of the better places in Park City. read more

Never felt so genderized in my LIFE!! My girlfriend and I were TRYING to have a good time when a drink got spilled on us. The dude who spilled it on us told us to chill out it was a club, then pushed us, so in self defense we pushed back. Bcs there was more of us, he fell and we tried to explain what happened to the security. They told us that we were being "dramatic" bcs we were women, and then told us to leave then told us to leave the club when my friend had a bump on her collar bond from the guy throwing his glass at her, and it was only bcs he had a table and was buying drinks. every single person recommended downstairs as the place to go in park city. yet, all these (old) reviews were so negative. i was a little anxious about going there for my bachelorette party this past weekend. but our night could not have been better! honestly, it was so perfect. we booked a table for our crew. the server was very sweet and attentive; the host was awesome and made sure we were taken care of; and the dj spun all the greatest old school jams mixed with newer stuff, which is exactly what we needed. my only negative comment would be about the thirsty-ass guys that live in PC. sloppy, desperate, and a 6 anywhere else. luckily, the security guy made sure we were having none of that at our table. :) read more
