I tried calling the owner multiple times Sunday to see if the other machine I was looking as was available but never got a response. I went to the store Monday around 11:30 and nobody was at the store. Tried calling the owner again multiple times but never got a response. 1st why is a broken machine in the floor, it should be made sure that it works before you go to sell it. 2nd I was a little suspicious when I noticed the business license expired the day I went in to purchase the machine.

What should have been a straightforward delivery turned into a frustrating, year-long ordeal that ended in small claims court. During delivery in March 2024, their team dropped a nearly 500-pound refrigerator off our porch while it was still on a dolly, damaging the concrete at our entryway. The entire incident was recorded on our doorbell camera. Despite admitting fault, Big George's initially offered only $200 or a patch repair--solutions that multiple independent contractors deemed unacceptable due to weather exposure, color mismatch, and long-term durability. Four contractors--including Midwest Construction, Dexter Concrete, Santoro Tile and Masonry, and Michigan Rose Construction--recommended full replacement of the damaged section, with bids ranging from $3,500 to $5,350. One wrote: "Patching is a temporary fix in this climate and will not blend with the existing concrete. Full replacement is necessary for structural and aesthetic reasons." Even Big George's own operations manager acknowledged liability. Still, the company refused to restore the damage properly. It wasn't until a small claims judgment--over a year later--that I received a mere $235.86. For a company that claims to be customer-focused and reputable, this experience was anything but caring. Their handling of the situation was dismissive, slow, and grossly inadequate--especially considering the scale of my purchase and their clear responsibility. If you're considering Big George's, be warned: if something goes wrong, you may be left to deal with the consequences on your own.

However, after I paid and the items were delivered, the service changed. I was told delivery and installation were included with the necessary equipment, but when the delivery arrived, I was charged extra for installation. Shortly after, the refrigerator/freezer stopped working. The owner came and said the motor was not working and replaced it, but the unit still had problems, including water leaking underneath. I sent pictures and he promised he would come back to fix it, but he did not follow through. I went to the shop again and he gave excuses about being sick and having pain, but the repair still was not done. Even though the appliance was supposedly under warranty, I ended up hiring my own technician and paying $150. Based on my experience, I do not recommend buying from this shop. The customer support and warranty service were not reliable.
