In my opinion, if you're looking for a turn-key vehicle that's going to be perfect for you for years to come with zero maintenance required - go buy something brand new. I see a lot of reviews that seem to think Tom's is responsible for their used, high mileage, low-priced vehicle having issues. Do your own research and know the common issues the vehicle you're buying has at the mileage you're purchasing it at. Then decide if it's worth the cost to fix those things after purchasing. In the last 2 years I've looked at a lot of Gen 1 Corvettes and have been disappointed more times than want to say, so I'm always prepared to find a car that is "not exactly" as advertised. I have to say these guys at ADM are "car guys" and my experience was exceptional. If you are in the market for a classic car Chevy, Ford or MoPar you have to check this place out. American Dream Machines has an incredible selection of extremely interesting cars, a professional staff and friendly service. Lynn met me in the show room with a friendly smile and gave me the "quick tour", answered a few questions and introduced me to Tom. The car was out and ready for me to look at and it was just as stated on the website. While Tom and talked about the car (no pressure took my time), I was able to look at other cars in the shop and talk to the mechanics and get a feel for the organization -- these are very professional people that really know and love these cars. Tom listened to me (listening is a lost art these days) and we were able to work out a deal that I'm happy with. The hard part is waiting for delivery. They offered to bring it into Des Moines instead but had to be pre-approved first. Told them I was not going to need financing, would be paying in cash. Great, made an appointment for 2 days later after confirming it would be at the Des Moines location. I show up for the appointment and the car had not been brought over. Had a conversation with management and they stated they do not transfer cars without pre-approval and agreement on terms/conditions. I explained again that we would not be financing the car so pre-approval was not necessary and who agrees to terms/conditions without first seeing the product (this was the first they mentioned agreement on terms/conditions was needed)? I also reiterated that I confirmed which location the vehicle would be at after being told that we needed to be pre-approved and I said we didn't. Told him to go back and read through my conversation as all texts were saved on their end...texts clearly show I was told it would be in Des Moines. Management was dismissive and didn't seem bothered. What a waisted trip and time out of my day. All in all, terrible with horrible customer service!
