I am travelling across country from the east coast and was referred to Matt by O'Reilly's Auto Part…read moreto assist with battery replacement for my Mercedes Sprinter van. On that day, Matt quickly arrived, assessed the problem and replaced the battery. He was personable and his charge was reasonable. During conversation, I learned that Matt would also be able to purchase and program a key fob for my van. We discussed price and timing for this service, and as he requested, I paid him up front via Venmo $287.54 for him to purchase the fob. The plan was to reconnect several days later after the fob arrived for him to program the fob to my van. On the expected date, 8/28 Matt let me know he would prefer to meet on 8/29. On 8/29, Matt let me know that the fob had not arrived, and in addition, his phone was broken and worked only intermittently. He texted to say he would meet me in Estes Park once the fob arrived to do the programming. I sent Matt a text on 8/30, 8/31, 9/2 and 9/3 as well as left a voice message. No response. On 9/4 I let him know that I sent a Venmo request for him to reimburse me for the cost of the key fob. On 9/5 I spoke with O'Reilly's and was told they had seen Matt who had a new phone. I finally heard from Matt on 9/10. He stated he has the key fob and would meet me in Estes the following day. On 9/11 I asked for time confirmation and he responded he had just left Glenwood and would arrive 5-5:30pm. He never showed up. On 9/12 after several texts, he finally got back to me saying he would refund my money. To this date, 9/15, he has not responded to me, nor refunded my money. Matt may be a decent mechanic, but he is also a scammer and a thief and takes advantage of honest, trusting individuals. What a shame.

After 3 hours' repair, they claimed the problem is solved. After we drove out of the store, it was only good for 1.5 hours and it is overheated again, thanks to their magical hands. We were stuck in the middle of nowhere and was towed again. They charged 865 bucks: 202 for the parts and 600 for the labor cost ($150/hour): I just don't know where the extra $63 comes from. Ryan actually worked 3 hours on my car, and said it is a 4-hours work. He explained how good he is and was able to finish the 4-hour work in 3 hours, and gave me a funny example of his 12 year old brother would use longer time and charge even more if mechanics are paid by actual working hours. I was just amazed how well he can debate; I think he should run for the president because the two candidates both suck at it. Hey Ryan, I think your 12 year old brother would do that better than you. Next time I want your brother to fix the car for me. Please visit this space if you want your car broken on the road again, being overcharged, and joining some really funny debate. Or you can just find a hotel, wait until Monday, and look for a real auto repair.

My car just stopped responding to the gas on my drive from Denver to San Diego. I was nervous I was going to need a new transmission. I was ripped off, insulted, and threatened with physical violence…read more $1,900 for a spark plug replacement?! Absolute robbery. This is a $500 job, $600 max. I checked with other shops in the area. This is not even in the ballpark of a fair price. They are lying about providing an estimate prior to service. That never happened. They threatened to "kick my a**" because I was attempting to argue these charges. They called me a dbag, told me to F myself. All sorts of profanity and insults. Just an absolutely insane way to treat a customer who has brought business to them for years. Never again. My fault for trusting them to conduct their business in an honest manner. I've taken vehicles here before so I wasn't expecting to get ripped off and extorted like this. I certainly was not expecting to be threatened with violence. It is unfathomable to me how a business owner could think that scamming, stealing from, insulting, and threatening working people in their own community will be a successful business strategy. If this is how they treat locals, imagine how they treat tourists... Edit: the business owner is blatantly lying in their reply to this review. I WAS NEVER PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE. Stop lying. Charge me a fair price, and don't threaten to beat me up when I complain about you scamming me. It's really not that difficult. Just be a decent human being. What is wrong with these people? This place used to be ok. Sadly, not anymore. I dont know what changed, but do yourself a favor and steer clear.
