The first thing they did was to ensure that my vehicle was parked far enough away (slightly down the street) so that no damage to it occurred. They then spread tarps over all my shrubbery and other outside items to prevent any damage or contamination that might arise while they were working. They went to work immediately at full speed and did not stop at all until the job was almost completely finished! Their crew was very respectful and did things that I did not expect, like moving my patio furniture away from the house so as not to damage it. Additionally, they trimmed some hedges that were out of control, although this was CERTAINLY NOT THEIR REPONSIBILITY! Back in May of 2022, our dog started barking at the ceiling. We thought there might be something in…read morethe attic. I checked the attic and found nothing, but he continued to bark at the ceiling at various times. So, I called Stanton Wildlife Services. The guy came out and checked the attic. He said that we had mice. He showed me what he said was mice poop on the walls of some areas of the attic and "tunnels" through the insulation in the floor. So, he put mice bait all over the place. I asked him how this works. He said that the mice would eat it, then go outside to get water, and then they would die. I asked him how I would know it would work. He said that the bait would be eaten and I'd see dead mice in my yard. He said it would take approximately 5-6 weeks for it to start working. He said that they guaranteed their work. After 4 months, I noticed that none of the bait was eaten, and there were no dead mice to be found. After several unsuccessful attempts to get in touch with the owner through texts and phone calls, he finally told me that the only thing they could do is come out and put some more bait out. I told him that wouldn't help because the original bait is still there. He said he could come out and do another inspection, but he would have to charge me to come out. I was not going to accept that. I filed a BBB complaint. I then had a friend look at my attic, and he said that we didn't have a mouse problem; we had a roach problem. So, I got some roach bait, and the problem was eventually solved. The dog doesn't bark at the ceiling anymore. I would not recommend Stanton Wildlife Services to anyone. He should've noticed that the problem was roaches from the beginning. I would've saved myself a lot of money.

Cathey Roofing installed a new shingled roof on our home in October 2020. While we had a few…read moremiscommunications during the install, Corey did a good job of resolving our concerns and it appeared all was in good order. What we didn't know is what was hidden under the new shingles. A few years prior in October 2016, he had brand new Velux skylights installed. Knowing that skylights can present the possibility of leaks, I was careful to choose a vendor that would use the Velux flashing kit and install precisely according to the manufacturer's instructions. I saw the skylight installation first hand including pictures of the completed flashing. It was pristine. Flash forward to a few months ago. We started to notice mold appearing on our living room ceiling. It wasn't in the skylight shaft but on the ceiling around the shaft about 8-12" away. We reached out to Cathey Roofing and they sent a repair specialist who said that the skylights "failed" and that was evidenced by the mold. Knowing how those skylights were installed and that they were warrantied, we reached out to the Velux dealer. They sent a representative who came and inspected the skylights and the flashing around them. The flashing had been damaged and the new roof incorrectly installed around the skylights. Cathey Roofing nailed THROUGH the skylight flashing when they reroofed. They also covered up the channels intended to divert water around the skylight rather than leaving them exposed as they should have. We even went so far as to arrange a Velux representative to train the Cathey Roofing team on correct flashing and shingling around a Velux skylight so that in the future they would not have a repeat of this problem. The shingles are actually bent and wavy around the skylights. Again we called Cathey Roofing and got no response. Finally, I texted Corey Cathey and laid out my concerns since he wouldn't return our calls. He stated that he would meet the Velux representative at our home and make it right. That has now been another ten days and Cathey Roofing will not answer the calls nor respond. The Velux rep has called and left two messages that have gone unanswered. The Velux folks have even gone to the address listed for the business but was not able to reach anybody. We have called and our calls and texts have been unanswered as well. Meanwhile, there is water damage and mold all over my living room ceiling from their poor quality installation. Any company can make a mistake. Reputable companies place a priority on correcting their mistakes because their reputation on the line. Cathey Roofing is intentionally evading having to correct their shotty workmanship. I do not recommend this roofing company and strongly suggest before requesting a quote you consider how very important it is for a company to stand behind their work.

He was knowledgeable, likeable, and helpful. He advised us of the storm damage to our roof and helped us begin the claims process. In the meantime, Clay started Rogue Carolina Roofing while continuing to work for a different company. This proved to spread him thin with time and affected communication. The biggest area of opportunity is the communication with both the client and tradespeople. Production manager, Joe Yakaski, dropped the ball and was unresponsive. Our roof was scheduled to be replaced on a Wednesday, but Joe never provided the roofers our address. We work from home and planned our day around this, so it was frustrating. Joe did not call me back to let me know when the job would begin until I reached out to him at 8pm that evening. The job was finished in (2) half days, thus creating inconveniences with work calls and meetings. The best part of my experience was with the roofers that were subcontracted by Rogue Carolina Roofing. Gustavo from G and J Roofing was communicative and a pleasure to work with!

During our initial conversation, I informed him that the company that was already working on other projects on my property was fully expected to handle the roofing as well. When I called, he assured me that he could do a better job and even offered to include some extras if I chose his company. I mentioned the other company and that my insurance would cover the new roof. I provided him with the insurance company's price for all roofing-related work. He was fine with this and expressed his willingness to complete the job immediately. Since he was a professional roofer, he assured me that the job would be done correctly. I provided him with all the details that the insurance company had given me, and he reiterated that he was the right person for the job. However, during our conversation with Jay, my wife signed a contract with the other company without knowing that I was seeking this alternative bid. Consequently, I found myself under contract with the other company. Jay informed me that I had three days to cancel that contract, and if I did, he could start the job immediately. After having several conversations with my wife, I decided to cancel the first contract. The next morning, I called Jay and left a message stating that the previous contract had been canceled and that we were ready to proceed with his company. I asked him to let me know what steps we needed to take to set the job start date. I did not hear from Jay for over six hours when I called him again and explained that I was ready to move forward with his company. To my surprise, he responded that there was no reason to return my first call because the job did not pay enough for him to be interested in it. He even suggested that if I could convince the insurance company to increase its payment, he would call me back. I was shocked and felt betrayed. Now, without a roofer, I had burned the first bridge and foolishly believed in his lies and deceitfulness. Today, I am without a roof or roofer, but I am determined to find a solution. However, I will never work with companies like Blue Fox Roofing, NC. I wanted to warn others about the potential pitfalls they may encounter when dealing with this company.
