I don't understand all the negative reviews, yes some of the prices are a bit high but that comes with the convenience of saving time by not having to drive 30 miles away. They have just about everything you would need to complete a home DIY project. All the folks I have encountered working there have been courtesy and helpful. The variety of products is surprising for a small store and I have no regret anytime I have shopped there and especially like that I am supporting a local small business owner who supports the local community. read more

since they were the only other place in town I could possibly purchase a window unit since mine is going out. I called before I called to see if they had any units left the lady that answered the phone was rude and said if they did thmen it very few. she then transferred me to a gentleman and he said yes that they had a few left and I politely asked how much and he said he didn't know without going to look t them and he was rude even didn't offer to go js look. this is why I don't do business with most Stephenville businesses because of the rudeness. Will not be calling back there or going in anytime soon. Fhey are miserable and make you feel that you are beneath them. read more

Great selection of hardware and home repair items in Stephenville. Staff are knowledgable and helpful in all areas. Prices are a little elevated, but well worth it considering most items can only be found there, rather than driving to Granbury. read more

I am giving 2 stars only because the place is such a great idea & they do have awesome products & everything you could imagine from dishes to home decor. HOWEVER, their customer service & management team is very poor. I am getting married, so we decided to go check this place out for a wedding registry. None of my family lives in Stephenville, but they said anyone could look up our registry online & call to place an order & pay with a credit card over the phone. Easy as cake! So, I picked out all of my fiesta dish-ware from here!! We had 400 invitations printed out with my registries on them, including the Home Place, & underneath the Home Place, we included their phone # & said call to order. I started noticing that we were getting a ton of our gifts off our registries from Dillard's & Target & the Carousel downtown store on the square in Eastland, however I had no gifts from the Home Place. My aunt out of Flower mound texted me one day & I shortly learned as to why I wasn't receiving any gifts from here! She had called to order ALL OF MY FIESTA DISH-WARE & they told her she couldn't pay on the phone. "Their system no longer let them type in credit cards" is what the girl on the phone said. Y'all, they turned down her order & she ended up shopping elsewhere. They told her she would need to make the 3 hour drive to purchase my dishes. A plate is like $36.00 per plate, one utensil holder is $60.00, she wanted to buy everything!!!!! & they turned her down & I LOST GETTING ALL OF MY DISHES. When I picked up the phone & called to find out what was going on, they apologized & said for her to call back & they would do her order over the phone then. WHAT!?! They were going to do it then, but it was too late. & the manager wouldn't talk over the phone, she relayed messages to the little girl that was on the phone with me & I could hear her in the background telling her employee what to say to me. When my mom called 5 minutes later, the manager had left the store & was gone for the rest of the day, haha, go figure. The girl told my mom then that "the manager hadn't given out the password for the computer program to do credit card orders over phone, so that's why they weren't happening." My mom finally got to speak with the owner & she offered us a $25.00 gift card. She was nice, but SERIOUSLY I LOST ALL OF MY DISHES FROM MY WEDDING GIFTS & YOU OFFER A $25.00 gift card!?! The Home Place online website still lists in their registry policies that they will take credit card orders over the phone, but I think it really amounts up to who's working or the time of day that you call, if you will receive any service. We refused the gift card, but they sent us it anyway & I gave it to my dad because I just cannot step foot back into that store. Good luck if you decide to have your wedding or baby registry here!!!! P.S. We had time to put our fiesta dishes onto our registry at Dillard's, & we ended up getting all of them bought in the end!! I highly recommend Dillard's, they have the same fiesta ware for cheaper prices & awesome packaging & shipping services for registries! read more
