Dow Upholstery built by Tony and his family & friends surpassed every expectation we had about having some very sentimental furniture upholstered. All of this furniture was in our family for generations and that alone made us nervous to make changes but it was time. They not only carefully picked up and packed our furniture, did the most gorgeous work we could imagine and then delivered back to us way before we the time expected was a dream. We are just blown away. The furniture industry is a dying art because of all of the junk out there, treasure these heirlooms. Dow is family owned for decades and they are passionate. Not sure why there aren't as many reviews and kudos from those who have had the same experience as we have, give credit where credit is due. The communication was excellent, pricing was extremely reasonable and Dow Upholstery is the best in the business. Let's all help one another and be grateful and kind to those who are good and kind to us. Rudest person I've ever had the misfortune of hiring to do a job. I dropped off some cushions on May 29. I was told they would be ready in 4-5 days. It was a small job, just four pillow cushions. I never got a call from him, so I called on June 5th (one week after I had dropped them off) asking about my cushions. It was evident that the job hadn't even been started. I was told to call back the next day around 5:00. I called the next day. Still not ready. Told me they would be ready Friday June 7th and to call around noon. I called around noon. Still hadn't started working on them. This is now ten days after I'd dropped them off. He said he'd call me later in the afternoon and they'd be ready. Again, he never called. When I called it was after 5:00, it rolled into a full voice mail box. I just called (yet again) today, June 8th. Again, tells me they'll be ready this afternoon. I told him that I would be polite, but he had promised them to me yesterday and had initially told me 5 days. THEN he starts YELLING AT ME!!! Yes! YELLING! I've been nothing but polite with this man and he starts literally screaming at me that he WILL have the cushions ready today. Then he slams down the phone, hanging up on me. We had several other pieces that we had planned to get reupholstered, but after this completely unacceptable behavior from a "business man" I'll happily take my money elsewhere. I still don't have my cushions and after his nasty behavior on the phone just now, I'm terrified to see what condition they will be in, assuming I ever get them back. read more
