This little hole in the wall joint was one of the first great finds I made when I moved up from "the Drive" in 2006. Doug's Homestead makes amazing beef jerky, which is often sold out by noon. This pisses everybody off but it makes you want it all the more. Salty chewing gum, the best for your road trip.
Their pepperoni guessing game rocks- if you can figure out the cost of your pepperoni "to the penny!" with the hint of what one stick costs, then you get your pepperoni for free! There is a Pepperoni Wall of Fame that you can get your picture taken at and you will have bragging rights to all your friends.
The only problem with sharing this stuff is then more people know about this hidden gem, and any time you travel past it to Osoyoos or Kelowna, or Nelson, or wherever... your friends will irrationally demand that you stop and get them $40 worth of meat. NOT JOKING.
If you like the little Eastern European butcher on the Drive near First, and the family run butcher in Fernie, this is the kind of quality you can expect. YUM read more
