I thought this charlatan-of-a-neurologist was doing such a good thing by helping Medicare patients like me get chiropractic help and other related bodywork. His MD authorizes him to be a Medicare provider. I originally went there for cranio-sacral therapy which did help my jaw.
But Davies is teamed up with a chiropractor named Jill Ruesch-Lane, and the people coming into their office are not there for neurological treatments. You just have to meet with Davies so that he can write up a reason for you to be authorized for treatment under Medicare.
Because I have chronically weak ligaments, I was thrilled that I could get help so that I could avoid injuries to my joints as I age.
They have a physical therapy room in their office. Ruesch-Lane prescribes lots of PT, and so I had regular physical therapy treatments there in addition to chiropractic.
Lauren, a non-licensed physical therapist worked with me over many months. She knew very well that I had weak ligaments in my knees and ankles. She had me do core-strengthening exercises, and that was working out OK.
But on May 17, 2016, this stupid, incompetent woman had me do an exercise that caused the meniscus in my right knee to tear. That form of exercise was contraindicated for a person with weak knees. In helping me work on a different issue that day, this moron forgot that she was supposed to protect my knees from torquing, and two years later I have two permanently-injured knees, frequent problems with my ankles and occasional issues with my hips.
Following the injury that I incurred in Davies' office, I endured weeks of excruciating pain. Virtually unable to walk, I was trying to get help from Ruesch-Lane. But she treated me as though I merely had inflammation from arthritis. She gave me inadequate treatments and things to do at home, and it just kept getting worse. I had trusted her, but that witch kept downplaying what was wrong with me, and I finally blew my top. That's when she suggested I go see an orthopedist, and he was the one who diagnosed my torn meniscus. He said I didn't need surgery and that physical therapy should be very effective. That was a relief.
But when I tried to book an appointment with a reputable physical therapist, it turned out, unbeknownst to me, that Davies and his cohorts had used up well beyond my years' limit of Medicare therapy coverage. And although I had a prescription for physical therapy to rehab my injured knee, I couldn't get any PT practice to take me as a patient. They did not want to fight Medicare to get an extension.
Douglas Davies, the goddamned neurologist with the link to Medicare...Instead of helping me get some therapy for my knee, wrote me a letter "firing" me as a patient. All I ever wanted from him and his office was some help dealing with the pain and dysfunction.
Instead, all the people in that office who couldn't have been nicer to me over the course of the previous year...week in, week out...Once they realized they were responsible for what they did to me, they kicked me to the curb!!!
I languished for over six months without any appropriate physical therapy because I couldn't afford to pay out of pocket. And in all that time I suffered terribly; I was debilitated; it affected my work, I had to ice my knee three times a day just to subsist.
But because I couldn't get help in a timely manner, I ended up with permanent injury to that knee and my other knee as well. It's taken a toll on my ankles and hips. When one joint is so compromised, it throws everything else off and favoring my bad knee put inordinate strain on those other joints.
Douglas Davies and his cohorts should burn in hell for what they did to me. They are money-grubbing, coldhearted bastards who will make you think they're your best friend. They're using you to line their pockets, and if you get some benefit out of it, that's just wonderful for you. But make no mistake about it... as a patient you are merely a means to an end. And that end is M O N E Y !!!
PS: I spent months calling government agencies and advocacy organizations. I couldn't get anyone to help me get the Medicare coverage I needed. I talked to a personal injury attorney, but it turns out that this is a case of malpractice. In trying to get a malpractice attorney to help me, I found out that you have to have lost an arm and a leg in order for one of them to take your case. They won't be bothered with something that's this "inconsequential". Well, it's not inconsequential to me. I've been damaged for life! I've lost mobility. I used to walk long distances for exercise. If I walk three or four blocks now it's going to take a toll on me. I can't squat down anymore. If I have reason to sit on the floor, I virtually cannot get up. I had none of those problems before they damaged me in that office.
Dr. Davies is a scammer and an opportunist. He should be ashamed of himself. They all should. You have been warned!! read more
