Pretty exceptional.
Stayed here with my family for a hockey tournament. This hotel is roughly fifteen minutes from the Scotia Barn in Burnaby. After a day of hockey, North Vancouver is just eight minutes away.
I was so impressed with the grounds. Beautiful fountains and water features, very clean, adequate parking, quiet.
The inside is exceptional too. Very clean and quiet, there are three restaurants on site for you to enjoy. The bakery is out of this world good.
The rooms were amazing. So fresh and new. The beds were quality. Room was super spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was outstanding.
If I had any complaint at all, it'd be housekeeping. I had used the app to book and check in. When I did, I requested extra bedding. This request was not observed. In the room, they do daily housekeeping, but that's just replenishing towels and making the beds. They do not vacuum the floors. I happened to notice some dried urine or staining around the toilet. When I'd walk by housekeeping, it was always a 50/50 chance they would acknowledge me and say hello back.
Just one last thing I wanted to be nit-picky about. The patrons from the restaurants tend to spill over into the lobby and hotel grounds. On multiple occasions I walked out of the hotel to my car and found restaurant patrons at the gazebo smoking weed or being loud. In the lobby, they'll lounge around drunk and leave their trash behind.
I'll say this. I stayed in Metrotown a month prior. It was a zoo of a place. This place, the DoubleTree at North Vancouver, is the place to be. No matter where you're staying in Vancouver, this is the hidden gem you should be at the end of the day. read more
