There are towels you can rent to use from a dispensing machine near the bathroom. The towels are tracked, If not return they will charge you $15 per towel. I am a frequent traveler and always prefer Hilton properties. This facility has multiple two-story buildings that are very old. They assigned me building 10 on the second floor, room 1034. It reminded me of a motel six. Very rundown and I found it Completely unacceptable for my business travel. I refused to stay there. The clerk did not give me any hassle canceling my four day booking. I got the impression I was not the first person to find this facility Unacceptable. Instead, I booked the Hampton Inn nearby for $30 less per night. This Doubletrees price is way too high for the type of rooms they provide. If you do stay there try to get a room in the main tower. Apparently those rooms are newer and more recently renovated, although I have not seen them personally. read more

If I could give less stars, I would.... 1) The carpet is filthy and feels damp and sticky. If you walk with your bare feet, expect them to be covered in hair and dirt. I got a towel wet and scrubbed a small spot on the carpet and it made the towel dark brown. 2) Stains everywhere. Including residues that can easily be wiped off surfaces, but we're not before we checked in. 3) Housekeeping does not allow enough time for a response when knocking on doors and may barge in unexpectedly if you forgot the deadbolt lock. (The privacy hanger was nowhere to be found either) 4) Caterers for events give the impression that they want everything wrapped up as soon as possible by taking plates before they're done being eaten. 5) Not sound proof at all... sounds like an earthquake when someone rolls luggage, or housekeeping passing by. read more

While making a food delivery i was accosted by several nasty guests who demanded i hand over the food despite not being their order or they would threaten my job and livelihood. When I asked the front desk for help she dismissed the complaint by saying security was not available and walked away. What if these guests had weapons? How would I be secure going to a place like this knowing the type of people that stay at this place and that nothing is done to curb such behavior? If you value your safety, go elsewhere. read more

I was hesitant booking a reservation after reading some negative posts. I have to say that this was one of my favorite DoubleTree Hiltons! Everyone from the front desk, housekeeping and the wonderful hardworking crew at the Laguna Restaurant always went out of their way to make sure that my every need was met. I had a room in the Villas and felt that I needed to be in the tower, my 3rd floor room was just perfect! Maybe next visit I will try the tower. I live in the orlando area, my husband and I decided to have a nice weekend for Valentine's Day and stay the night here. When we arrived to the location it was packed. No parking spots, and there was a line all the way around the corner of the hotel. I called and asked if that was the check in line and was informed it was. We have now been in this line for an hour. And still no where to being checked in. I called the hotel and asked if everything is okay and was consoled with "yes, we're doing our best please be patient" trust me I have been here for an hour and I'm still not even close to being checked in. This is absolutely ridiculous, I cannot believe this. I am updating my review after my stay: I am giving them 3 starts because there was an employee that through everything was extremely nice. they put us in the wrong room so I told him I needed what I paid for Jacob, was extremely nice and was able to get us to the correct room. And when I called today (2/16/21) because they charged a Covid fee on my card without letting me know. He nicely waived it for me. The room was definitely nice for what I paid, but I was fortunate to be in the tower and had spoken to Jacob. He was the only employee that was helpful! read more

Booked a room in the main tower on 16th floor. We walked in and my 3 year old says "it smells like someone peed on the floor." It was horrible. Smelling like mold and wet. Tried to call from desk from hotel room phone twice and from cell phone. No answer. Walked right out of the room and found another Hilton to stay at. Horrible experience read more

Not a good experience. In town for the Microsoft Ignite conference. First, room was not ready until after 3:30 pm. This resort is mostly a motel, not a hotel. Large number of buildings which requires you to walk through the pool areas to get to your building or drive around the complex to park near your building. The front desk staff were very nice and gave me 2 free drink coupons while I had to wait. Go to the pool bar and the bartender said that the coupon was good for a beer or a rum and coke. The coupon says beer, wine or house cocktail. Bartender refused anything but a beer or rum and coke. Room was very old. Was updated but still not very nice. Tub spout was broken and the metal soap dish in the shower was rusted and moldy. Not up to DoubleTree standards for sure. read more

This review is mainly about the ballrooms. I'm part of a group that has been hosting events here for the past couple years, and there always seems to be an issue with the AC! It's significantly cooler in the hallways than in the ballrooms during sessions. Hotel staff has tried to blame us, saying we kept opening doors and "letting the cool air out". But keeping the doors shut didn't resolve the issue. And we were in compliance with the posted room capacity. We have had people fall ill due to the heat in the rooms. Also, the hotel food policy is ridiculous. They do not allow outside food or drink, but then charge outrageous prices for their own basic food (nearly double what is charged at nearby restaurants). I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking to host an event. read more

This is probably the worst hotel stay I have ever been to. Decided to take a little family trip to Orlando since my son is a three day weekend. We booked this hotel a few weeks ago cause it wasn't too pricey but close to sea world. After checking in we go to the hotel and it literally smelled like carpet mold (and I would know because my husband worked for a mold removal company for a few years). The accommodations they referred us to was worst off then the room we were already in so we stayed in the same room and asked if they could disinfect the carpets will we browsed the hotel. Then there was so hot water. Like literally the water is freezing. So after spending hours at the pool We can't even shower to wash the chlorine off. We called customer service over 20 times no one answered. We went down stairs and the line at the service area was way too long. Either they just don't care or severely under staff which is pretty amateur of them being we came during "A gay festival" weekend. I am checking out in the morning. read more

The service was good, top notch. The room LOOKED and smelled good, BUT somewhere around 6 am I woke up, decided to make some tea, and was greeted by a big ugly seemingly pregnant roach. I stayed in building 17, on the first floor, in one of those "bungalow-style" rooms. I was creeped out the rest of the stay. I hate to down vote them, because the service was so good and attentive, but after the fact, I see that other reviews yelp also complain of roaches. To make things worse for my review and the hotel, it happened to be raining the next morning and the place had roof leaks in a lot of the common areas. Trying to follow a path that got me from my room to the lobby, I got lost and ended up in a area with a bunch of conference rooms, my 3 yr old noticed the carpet was sloshy (Mommy why's the floor like that?) and we looked up, water was dripping from the ceiling onto the carpet below. When we got to the lobby, which is beautiful and well appointed, guess what? Several buckets throughout, with towels underneath, catching water dripping from the ceiling. It's not a good look. And the roach issue really seems to be a problem they need to rectify. Based on the reviews, it seems I was lucky to only have seen one.. but you know what they say, if you see one, there are probably a hundred around. Looking at my kid laying in the bed all I could think about was whether while we slept any other roaches had been in our bed or on our things..I stayed up long enough to see the roach finally decide to move on from the coffee area and seemingly run into the television. When you see one, especially one brave enough to be out in the open when lights are ON, you get paranoid about what's happening in the dark as you sleep. Again service was top notch, I checked in late, front desk was helpful and kind, valet personally escorted me and my sleeping child in the middle of the night to our room. Upon showing them the video of the roach, they offered me some things to make up for it, even took some money off of my stay, and of course the complimentary cookies are great, but the roach problem and leaky roofs are still no bueno. I booked at a Hilton and of course expect a certain level of all around quality. I don't want to see anything that you'd expect at lesser hotels. read more

Typically I find Hilton properties fairly consistent and reliable, this one is an exception. It's actually hard to believe it's a Hilton property. There's a main tower hotel, surrounded by several two story "motel" like buildings. The rooms are TIRED! The last update must have been 20 years ago, marginally dirty, stained, furniture broken. Old, tired, smelly, and uncomfortable. The first room I got was as far from check in as you get in one of the motel buildings. It had no power. Like nothing would turn on. Lug everything back to lobby and get "upgraded" to the tower. Same crappy room, now just with a view of a rooftop. First 3 days shower was scalding hot at coldest setting. Unusable hot. Send toddler to hospital hot. Last three days only cold water. What the heck is going on here?!? The bed also is terrible. Overall pretty crappy. read more

Stayed here while attending a conference nearby in Nov 2022. I wanted so badly to have a good experience here, because I come to Orlando fairly frequently for conferences and fun. However, I was disappointed by my experience here. Upon check-in, the staff was friendly and even allowed me to check in a little earlier, which I greatly appreciated due to my long travel day. When I got to the room, I noticed that the room was clean at the surface, but the carpet was stained in several spots and the bathroom did not seem like it was cleaned as thoroughly as it should be. I was not anticipating being in the room too much, so I did not mention it, especially because they had graciously allowed me to check in early. After looking at other reviews of the hotel, this does seem to be a common occurrence unfortunately. Most of my stay was fairly uneventful until check out. When I was checking out, I noticed additional charges for food and beverage. However, I charged any food during my stay to my credit card, not my room, because I needed to keep receipts for reimbursement. When I asked the staff member about these charges, he was initially insistent that I probably charged it to my room and just did not remember, but I knew that was not the case. Eventually, after some discussion, he did remove the charges and reprinted the bill. Once again, sneaking random charges onto the bill seems to be common practice here as evidenced by other reviews and the woman ahead of me in line had a similar experience. I would caution people from staying here, especially if you prefer a seamless checkout process. read more

As a Hilton Diamond member and a Hilton Grand Vacation owner, this is an embarrassment to the Hilton brand. Stayed only one night, thankfully! Luckily we only needed the room to shower and sleep 5/6 hours before heading home from our stay in Hilton Grand Vacation club Seaworld and Disney park visits. The villas are subpar. Rooms dated, bathroom was small, toilet felt like it was going to come away from the floor. Shower floor was gray. I wore my flip flops in the shower and would not step on the carpet as it looked filthy. If I had to stay her here more than a few hours to sleep, I would have checked out. It appears the main tower looks nice, but those villas look like a seedy motel! Will never be back and plan to complain to corporate. read more

I would definitely recommend the tower room suites over anything else. Parking was an issue. Our hot water in shower kept switching to cold water then hot. The toilet water was HOT which was weird in room 2605 The noise coming from the bathroom vent was deafening and annoying. You could hear the guests very loudly in the next room. The small fridge in room was falling out of the storage chest it was sitting in .. dangerous for a small child to possibly pull out onto itself. The staff was WONDERFUL very friendly but very overworked and understaffed. Long lines to check in or ask a question. No one working the Honors desk. No hot cookies but they did have cold ones after about an hour wait. The rates are very reasonable so you tend to overlook things. We were there for a convention rally in the ballroom. No social distancing and lots of people not wearing masks. read more

Only spent a night here before catching a flight back home. Unfortunately we had a bumpy start due to half of our room not having power. Also the AC wasn't working properly and we couldn't connect to the wifi. It took about an hour before the engineer came to rectify the problems. He wasn't able to assist with the wifi. About an hour later, the power went out again so we asked to switch rooms. The online chat replies were taking up to 15 minutes in between messages. My husband went to the front desk and was able to get another room. It's a busy time with the holidays so we were understanding. FYI, the lower 600 rooms face the pool if you're interested in being close to it however it may be a little noisy. Room 600 is closest to the entrance. The continental breakfast was satisfying however we were happy to use our Hilton honors to enjoy the omelette and waffle stations at the Laguna Restaurant. read more

I thought that I had already did a review from my stay- anyhow I had a one night stay while traveling Front desk check in staff greeted upon check-in Pricing for the room was around $137-139 which I completely paid before settling in the night- I knew that I was leaving first thing in the morning so I wanted to make sure no monies would be due. Oops I almost forgot to mention self-parking was $19. As far as the room everything looked nice and most importantly the bed was comfortable and I got a much needed good nights rest. After I left the hotel, I got back on the road for more travel ahead- I noticed that I left an item behind - I immediately notified the hotel and housekeeping located the item- I was informed on the phone that housekeeping would get the shipping information and get the item returned to me- After a few back /forth phone calls and a couple emails later I did receive my item. read more

This hotel seems more like a resort w/ it's design. Not because you're taken away from the outside world, but because it's a hike to get to everything. Pack you're comfy sneakers because you're gonna get your steps in if you stay here. The hotel is standard for the DoubleTree. Get your warm cookie upon check in and begin your hike to your room. We were told we were on the Hilton Honors floor, but not made aware if we had access to their HH lounge. Then again they didn't tell us they had one. It's always nice to pop into one to grab a snack and some waters. The room itself is standard w/ all the toiletries such as a vanity kit, shower cap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. We ran into an issue w/ housekeeping. We didn't have a DO NOT DISTURB notice in our room to notify housekeeping we wanted privacy. They had knocked early in the morning. We let them know we didn't. We got a knock on the door four more times asking if we wanted housekeeping. Clearly there was no communication between the staff about how we didn't want any housekeeping that day. Outside of that the hotel food/drink is what you would expect in Orlando at a Hilton property. It's located near I drive (international drive), the main street in the Orlando area. You can catch the trolley to and from the street. Close enough to get you to the amusement parks. read more

Terrible! The continental free breakfast is only a bagel or croissant. Long lines every single morning to even get such items. The line to check in was almost into the drive way SLOW service. I was charged incorrectly for self parking and other items that I had to call customer service to be credited. Please check your receipts folks! No hand soap in rooms. Vending machine not working. Ending my 5 night stay. And want to say despite some of the other reviews I think this is a beautiful hotel. Check in was easy. Staff thru out the grounds is amazing. I got the villa king room and is nice. I actually prefer this style as it's easy to prop door open for fresh air, to come and go faster than going all the way back up in the main towers. The bed was cozy. Shower did smell some but didnt leak like other reviewers stated. Our room had a mini fridge. Couch was clean as was carpet. We were in 1900s and was peaceful there. Not much outside noise as we were by pools. Perfect location. To pools, I enjoyed the pools very much. Lively so if you have kids almost always someone to play with. Hot tub wonderful at family pool. Pool toys and floats allowed. Water I believe is heated but I maybe wrong. The other pool has walkup bar. Good drinks. To be expected average prices. The buckets are all very good. Food from the restaurant was great. I had the wings and my son just had the personal pizza. Continental breakfast the lines do get a bit long which isnt a problem to me. You get juice or coffee, fruit and a bagel or muffin. The cranberry lemon muffin was delish Amenities, the mini golf was fun could use a sweeping off but not a big deal. Pool table good, fuseball and pingpong great. Laundry on site we used, just have a debit card. 3.50 to wash. Soap available for purchase. Overall I highly recommend. From the staff to rooms and distance to seaworld and aquatica. Food and atmosphere. I will be returning for future visits. read more

Thanks to the magic of Hilton Honors points, we were upgraded to a absolutely huge corner room with a panoramic view. Our stay was quite pleasant and the room service menu was definitely above average, with tasty and creative dishes. That was a pleasant surprise and so much better than the standard chicken finger/burger/quesadilla fair at many Hilton's. The parking situation is a bit of a maze but otherwise, this is a better than average property. read more

Worst hotel I have stayed in. We arrived at the hotel around 5pm (check in was at 3), only for them to tell us our room was not ready & we had to wait another hr in order to receive to room. Once we finally got into our room, it looked nice at first, but the floors/carpets were sticky and the couches/pillows felt damp. Room service was horrible, when we arrived we asked for extra towels & bed sheets, we did not receive these until 3 days after & this was because we ended up going to get it ourselves. We would call multiple times & they would get annoyed at us for even daring to call & ask for something we paid for. One of the days we were there we asked for room service to come clean the room up, take out the trash, & dirty towels/sheets; the request was put in around 11am. When we arrived to our hotel room later that night around midnight, it appears as someone however did come into a room & left 1 towel on our bed, yet didnt even bother to make our bed & we came to find that the trash & dirty laundry were still in the same place we left it. (Pictures are attached) This was very disappointing. The only nice thing about this hotel was our bartender at the pool bar, some dominican lady, & one of our servers at the restaurant they have. Other than that, this was the worst experience I have had & do not recommend anyone to stay. read more

Stayed here while in Orlando for work - my employer booked this hotel, so I had no idea that there were rooms outside of the 'main tower.' When my coworker and I checked in around 930/10 pm, the front desk associate assisting us advised my room was very far from my coworker's and offered to move me; I declined, stating it wasn't necessary - again, I was totally unaware of the motel style rooms. After we walked our separate ways, I started second guessing my decision - the walk was very dark, my room opened up to a parking lot and I was on the first floor. I went to call the front desk and the hotel phone was not functioning, so I called on my cell. I explained the situation and how I would like to move rooms to be closer to my coworker due to the elements listed above, that I would feel safer, as we are two single women. The front desk associate named either Carolyn or Caroline curtly said 'wait, so we offered you to move, and you said no?' I again explained the situation - safety issue, didn't understand what I was getting myself into, as I did not select the hotel. She proceeded to say 'I don't know what to tell you, we are full, and we don't allow room changes after 9pm.' Since she said they were full, I asked for clarification on if that room I was offered had legitimately been booked in the last twenty mins. She replied, 'unless there is a big issue with your room, we're not moving you, maybe try again tomorrow.' Very helpful. In addition to this lovely experience with her, the room was gross. It reeked of chlorine, there was hair in and on the tub walls, extremely dirty floors, shower head and faucet were loose to the point that turning the water on/off and adjusting the shower head felt like they would rip out of the wall, multiple outlets did not work, and fridge was unplugged - which would have been nice to know before I put things in it. I didn't notice the fridge was warm because the room itself was set to 60 upon my arrival so I was quite chilled - I am all for a cold room, but surely, they know that will cause those tiny units to freeze over! This "resort" is basically a crummy motel. Lastly, bear in mind that as this is considered a "resort," there are lots of families, which is great. What is not great is the parents letting their kids run up and down the sidewalk SCREAMING at 11pm, 12pm,1am. If you enjoy sleeping, this is not the hotel for you. read more

We stayed at the Wyndham Garden Orlando Universal for one night before arriving to this hotel. Very disappointed walking into our room at the Double Tree. There is an old wet smell upon entering the room. Bathroom water smells like sewer. There is a lot of dust and the bathroom is not updated. The pictures for this hotel sure make the rooms look nice and relaxing but not at all what you walk into. The hotel does have a lot of amenities to offer and the staff so far are nice and respectful. The rest of the hotel is decent. Also parking is $21 a day! Highly recommend the first hotel we stayed at Wyndham Garden Orlando Universal. Very clean, upgraded, and parking is free. read more

To say I was disappointed is an understatement. We were there for a conference and it was chaos from the start. Everywhere we went on the property was understaffed and customer service was almost nonexistent. When we came to check in we had to wait for our rooms as none of them were ready so we had to wait in the lobby. Day 2 was only bearable because we spent tbe day in sessions and our server at breakfast was very nice and attentive. Every time we went into the on site market there was never enough staff in there and they were out of napkins, food,etc . I know there a lot of groups there at one time but I'm sure they knew in advance so they should have been staffed properly. We also asked for extra towels because we were told we weren't going to have maid service. While we were out they came in and took are towels and we had to call and ask for more. On our last morning a member of the house keeping staff came by at 930ish and told my daughter she had to leave right then since it was our last day...check out is at 11. And we didn't even get our cookies. As a Hilton Honors member I haven't been to many Hilton or Doubletree properties, however the ones I have visited have been nothing short of amazing both in state and out. I hope the get it together because this does not fit in with what I know to be what Hilton/Doubletree stands for. Forgot to add that the cell service and wifi was terrible and barely worked. read more

Normally the Hilton brand stands for quality. Not so here. Clearly this is an old hotel that Hilton bought, slapped some paint on, and charged high prices for. THEY CHARGE THEIR GUESTS THE SAME RATE FOR PARKING PER DAY AS SEAWORLD VISITORS. Which brings up the lack of parking. Pack a sack lunch for your walk from the parking lot to your room. There are very few handicapped parking spots, with many building not having them. There is no handicapped entrance, meaning no wheel chair access to many buildings. HIGHLY ILLEGAL!!! No elevator in several buildings. Hidden fees all over the place. Bathroom door won't close. Black debris in the water. A COMPLETE DISGRACE! If this were my first time at a Hilton property I would never stay there again! read more

I'm not pleased with the facility for holding a professional conference. There are two different areas where they hold these. The staff are not very friendly, the food service is limited, and the parking is expensive for self park or built into the resort fees if you choose to stay at this location. The resort is aged and outdated and the signs are hard to follow with finding particular rooms. I would hope not to return in the near future. read more
