Really kind of a dumpy hotel. I was gonna give the three stars, because I got a diamond upgrade. But the room was kind of trashy and so is the service. I was in some room that was made from the 1980s, but the wood doors don't even close and there's no separation from the room in front of you. Nice thought, but really doesn't work. One night I spent almost 20 minutes at the front desk waiting for a bar soap. It wasn't the soap that I had in the room but that's not surprising, as the conditioner, the soap, the shampoo, the lotion, nor the soap was the same kind. Oh and to top it off, the only advantage to being a DOUBLETREE is the cookie at check in. That wasn't available as they were "out of them". And was told to come back later. I've stayed at nicer Red Roof Inns! First off, desk staff could not have been more unprofessional and rude if they tried. Check in was thoroughly unpleasant, as was asking for an itemized bill at check out, as desk staff padded our bill considerably. Desk staff were quick to offer upgrades (20 per night for 'good beds'), but refused to honor the conference rate we booked our room at. Our first room smelled like disinfectant, feet, and sweat. Neither the sink nor tv worked. Someone else's hairs were in the shower. Our second room smelled like mold, mildew, and disinfectant. Nothing seemed clean. It was really bad. Weeks later my suitcase still stinks. Beds were lumpy and the chair was stained. Housekeeping was non existent. Consensus of our colleagues at the conference was that the majority of the rooms are run down, smelly, and uncomfortable. The restaurant menus are stuck somewhere in the 1980's - they had nothing remotely fresh or healthy, luckily there are some good local restaurants that deliver! Bar staff were great and really tried to create a comfortable atmosphere - they were really the only professional and welcoming members of staff we encountered! The grounds were the best part - both pools were refreshing and decently maintained (though the hot tub could have used more attention). Yep, I understand theres a pandemic, but that's not an excuse for the rudeness we experienced. Or the stink, mold, and dirtiness of our rooms. I would have rather known ahead of time to just book a reservation somewhere else. I'll be in Orlando next year for this conference - I may look into staying at one of the other hotels that are a stones throw from the Doubletree. And I'll think twice before staying at another Doubletree! read more

THE WORST!!!! my husband and I had to drive over four hours to Orlando to deal with a family emergency. We wanted a hotel that was close to Sandlake hospital. We made reservations at the Doubletree in the room was going to be over $150, that was around 7pm. We arrived to the hotel, extremely tired around 1:30am. We were told the only room we could get was a room with a roll away bed and the bath would not even have a shower! Seriously, who even makes the times like this and charge $150? We had to ask for a refund and spent another hour driving from hotel to hotel, trying to find one by the hospital! This has been such a horrible experience from my absolute favorite hotel. My kids love it here but unfortunately we are strongly reconsidering a new hotel for our summer travels. read more

My stay here was just bleh, but I guess you get what you pay for. My boyfriend and I had a wedding to attend in Orlando, so we booked this Double Tree because it was close to the wedding and had a better rate than the designated wedding hotel. We got a room in the surrounding buildings, not the tower. First off, there is extensive construction going on at this hotel. There wasn't enough parking in the lot with dumpsters and equipment taking up precious spaces. Furthermore, the parking lot is gated off so they don't have a complete surrounding lot; you have to turn around and go around the long way to attempt to find parking on the other side ( which is what happened to us the second night of our stay). Our room was not clean. Sure, the beds were made, towels folded and surfaces organized, but there were clear reminders that I was not the only person who has ever stayed in the room. There were hairs on the tub wall and corners, like little hairs that look like what a woman shaves from her legs. There was also more long head hair and a discarded headband behind the door in the bathroom that you see when you close the door. There were also frosty toothpaste stains along the counter of the sink. I hated the shower and the sink. The shower curtain wasn't long enough to keep water from spilling from the tub to the floor, and you couldn't aim the shower head more towards the inside of the tub. Every time we showered, we would flood the bathroom floor with water, and ended up putting an extra towel over the bathroom mat. The sink is an above-counter bowl, but the water spout doesn't stretch out far enough so when I washed my hands, I'd always hit the sink bowl. The walls are paper thin. We had loud neighbors and heard EVERYTHING they said and did (really loud sex SO AWKWARD), or when they returned to their room at six am. The plugs for electronics for this room are not enough/inconvenient in this day and age. There are 2 in the lamp at the desk (far away from the beds), and then 2 more by the kitchen sink (put your cell phone by water). If there were 4 people staying in this room, you'd be fighting for outlets. We went on an excursion around the hotel grounds because two of the closest ice machines were broken and finally got ice at the third machine. We put the "do not disturb" sign on our handle but housekeeping knocked on our door both mornings ANYWAY. Breakfast is not included. I'm not TOO fussy about my hotel stays, but I really wouldn't book here again unless the price was dirt cheap. This DoubleTree gives you a roof over your head, comfortable beds to sleep in, and running water in the shower and sink. But there were so many annoying things about this hotel, and Orlando is a prime tourism city, there are many other places you can stay with competitive rates AND have a better overall stay. This is my second time staying here. The first time the room needed updating, which has happened! Check in and other staff were nice. I had a nice Salmon entree for dinner at the bar. My issue this time is that I ate at the bar, the bartender Glenda, was nice... however, when I took a closer look at my receipt the next day, I noticed that I was charged $4 extra for "Neat" on my two Woodford Reserve bourbons. Seriously, I'm being charged for NOT having ice in my drink. The bartended didn't pour by measure, so it's hard to accept that I got more bourbon than if there was ice. To top things off, I emailed the hotel manager, TWICE, and got no reply at all. I was trying to give him a chance to explain this charge, without bringing it here, but evidently customer complaints aren't worthy of a reply, so here it is. I didn't order off a drink menu, I could clearly see the bottle of Woodford Reserve from where I was sitting. The bartender didn't tell me that it was more for Neat. I wouldn't even have known it had you just charged me the $2 more per drink, instead of breaking out a charge for 'neat.' This is a self-inflicted wound, Doubletree. It's bad enough that we get charged a resort fee for the same things that used to be included. As a Hilton Diamond member I resent being nickeled and dimed, as should all guests. read more

My husband was attending a conference this week and I booked him a room for 2 nights. The hotel has a motel feel, no up to the Doubletree Standards that we are accustomed to! He had drunks passed out in the hall leading up to his room when he returned from the days meetings, he promptly called the desk to notify them and when security showed up over an hour later they banged on his door and were yelling at him to open his door... he explained he had just gotten out of the shower and they continued to bang and order him to open the door... when he did interrogated him asking the whereabouts of the drunk (an hour later) to add more pleasantry to his stay, the security latch on the door was broken suggesting it had been previously broken into... We do not recommend this hotel. read more

First of all, I understand that this is not a five-diamond hotel. At the time I checked in the front desk told me that Housekeeping was upon request due to Covid restrictions. I am currently staying here, and I have had ordered housekeeping twice yesterday and twice today, 4 times in 36 hours. And nothing, they are apologetic and say they will send it right away. I had to go over to the front desk to talk to the reception and they assured me I will get housekeeping right away.. still nothing. The operations on this property are a mess. read more

This hotel is just kind of average, a lot of reviews are either 5 stars or 1 star, but in reality I think it's just average and you have to know what you are getting. This property lives up to "you get what you pay for". I spent three nights here, two on points and one paid. It was cheap and there is no resort fee for a hotel with lots of resort like features, that is a win in my book. So here are some pros and cons Pros: -Price, obviously this is a more budget friendly hotel. -If you are gold/diamond the complimentary breakfast buffet with omelet bar is a wonderful addition. -Lots of room categories -On site restaurant and tiki bar that really aren't that bad, and have $2.50 beers all day, you won't find that at most hotels. -Service, every staff member I encountered were wonderful. -Pools are actually very well maintained and clean. -You can walk to Sea World if you're going there, it's a $12 uber to Disney springs, not sure how far to Disney Parks. -There is a liquor store across the street, save some cash! -Free cookies! You just have to ask at the front desk. -No resort fee, they have mini golf, fire pits, 2 pool areas and one hot tub. -Wifi here actually works really well! Cons: -The reviews that mention a smelly room are spot on, I was in the tower 21604, the Hilton Honors floor, it smelled old, musty and moldy. I was upgraded so I didn't complain and after reading reviews, I thought, well, other rooms will be the same. They really need to address this. -The rooms, bathrooms and hallways are worn, stained and the property is in desperate need of remodel. It's not pay by the hour hotel bad, but it's worn and smells. -Smoking, they allow smoking at the one pool with the bar, it's gross and this is a hotel with lots of kids, I thought we were beyond that in 2021 (I'm a former smoker, but c'mon). -It is pet friendly, fine, but the dogs in the pool area is gross. -Walls are paper thin, like I could hear whispers of the people next to me, but they weren't whispering they were singing, and loud, I could also hear everyone above me too. The benefit is they could hear me say be quiet. Not really a pro or a con, just an observation. They have one hot tub and it's in the family pool, so a ton of little kids in the hot tub, which shouldn't be. It's just annoying, I wish the non-family pool also had a hot tub. Overall, a fine stay, would I stay here again, probably unlikely, especially if I was with my family. But, for a budget hotel it has a lot of perks. Just know what you are getting and don't set your expectation to the Ritz Carlton. read more

Stayed here during the Citrus Bowl and it was hands down the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. An annoying and frustrating experience in just about every way possible. Sleeping was nearly impossible due to a constant stream of noise. The carts the cleaning crew used were very loud rolling back and forth across the concrete non-stop. Fruity steel drum music from the pool area blared all day long. Kids screaming at the pool. The breakfast buffet was mediocre and you couldn't pour your own drinks. The servers were very lazy and you would be extremely fortunate if you could get one refill out of them. And there weren't anywhere near enough parking spaces for all of the guests. If you left and came back chances are you would have to circle the hotel for an hour just waiting for someone to leave so you could park. If you must travel to Orlando avoid this place like the plague. read more

So I definitely wished I paid attention to these reviews but I didn't so let's talk about this flop house. Check in was probably one of the most unpleasant experiences I've ever had in a hotel. They gave me the key to the wrong room (someone was still occupying the room) and then acted like I was an inconvenience to them when I asked them to correct it. The room itself was so disgusting I had to Instacart cleaning supplies to clean and disinfect it myself. The sheets were holey and stained and we were missing washcloths that never came after we called. I had to get my own when I spotted a housekeeping cart. I asked for a manager more times then I can count but never was allowed to speak with one. I tried my best to spend more time outside of the hotel to escape the foolishness. Shocked is an understatement on how poorly managed and run this hotel is. I initially thought i would like it as I have had multiple events here in the past with over 200 people. I have them a lot of business, not to mention i'm an hilton honors member. I travel quite a bit and stay in many hilton's but this was horrible! Rooms were done late, coffee and sugar not replaced, towels not done, closet broken, phone not working, poor upkeep, bathrooms small and doors won't close, pillows bad, smells bad, this is the WORST hotel I have ever been in that had the Hilton name. If they rename it to Super 8 or Budget Inn...maybe? But Hilton should be ashamed that this hotel is in their chain. read more

This is a nice hotel to bring a family if you dont want to stay at a Disney property. They have 2 pools including a family pool, a kids area program with video games. They also have a 9 hole putt putt course a pingpong table, a pool table and giant checkers. They also have a restaurant and outdoor bar that serves food including kids meals. Gold or diamond hilton members get a free full breakfast which is great. Hotel is on the trolley line which can take you to many places. 2 dollars a ride or 5 per day or 7 for 3 days or 9 for 5 days. Get your free chocolate cookies here. Rooms are in the tower or 2 floor cabanas. Rooms were dated but clean. The television hotel video is dated. It shows a restaurant to get bakery items or casual meals. It doesnt exhist. There is a hotel lobby bar. The hotel tries to quickly fix issues and does a good job following up ie AC issue or restaurant service issue. The hotel needs to communicate the trolley. I asked the manager the best way to get to a restaurant. He said taxi or uber. Convention center info desk told me about the trolley. The stop is directly across the street! The beds are comfy, the rooms are clean, it's a little different style hotel then I am used to, as it is very apartment looking or motel 6 type of vibes, but when you enter the room, the atmosphere changes for the better. I travel for business so I spend quite a bit of time in hotels and usually I am a huge fan of Doubletree. This location leaves a lot to be desired especially in terms of customer service. My room did not have a blow dryer or an iron. When I went to call the front desk to have them at least bring me a blow dryer the phone did not work. Upon calling the hotel from my cell phone I sat on hold for six minutes before deciding to change and go to the desk to ask for one. It took another 35 minutes for a blow dryer to be delivered to our room at 10:30pm. At that point most of our family had already gone to bed and had no use for it. The only redeeming qualities were that the cookies were hot when we checked in and the restaurant on property has good food. I highly recommend the bacon ranch chicken sandwich. read more

This hotel is the WORST place I have ever stayed, and all my family members agree. My son scheduled his wedding here, we were all emailed confirmation numbers, I personally called the hotel at 8pm on the day of my arrival to advise I was not going to arrive til around 11pm and confirm they would have my room, my stay was set for 4 days, they advised since i was staying 4 days, they would of course keep my room. I arrived at 11 pm, went to the registration counter where I was told they did NOT have a room for me. I presented the email confirmation where I was then told that number was not a good number, although it CLEARLY stated the name and address of the hotel. I then told them I was there for the Wilkerson-Collins wedding - Which was also shown in large green letters on my email confirmation. I was told they were not having a wedding that weekend. I was then told I would need to WAIT for a room to be prepared. I waited til 1 am for a room to be ready for me! THIS IS RIDICULOUS when you receive a confirmation, are told the check in time is 3 pm, and call to advise you are coming - if check in is at 3pm, why was a room not ready for me? Why was a room not ready when I called at 8 pm? Furthermore, they gave me a room in their tower, like that was supposed to be a big deal of some kind, but I had to make 3 trips to the room via elevator and there was no parking in the area so I had to park at another location and walk back to my tower room! I explained to the man at registration that I was 64 and had no business walking the grounds of a hotel alone at 1 am in the morning, but he said of the 1150 rooms they boast - that was THE ONLY room available! my entire family, the brides family and friends coming to the wedding ALL had the same issues, 3 of my sons had to stay locally at another location because they were told there were no rooms available, they got there on Wednesday! when the hotel began having rooms, they put most of the guests around the courtyard where the wedding was being held, but not me. I continued to have to walk to the tower several times a day as there were rehearsals, pictures, the wedding and the normal routine of eating. If this is a RESORT, it is the worst one I have ever stayed in and I will never ever stay here again. I left a day early as a matter of fact. Not one single person at this hotel tried to listen to our concerns and issues for incoming guests and the issues with not having the rooms ready. What is the point of making a reservation if they are not only not going to honor it, but also lie to you that the reservation # on the email THEY SENT was not a good number? read more

I legit cried when I found out my husband booked a 4 night stay here for a work trip without reading the Yelp reviews first. There are SO many hotel options in the area so I wouldn't exactly rush to this one. The set-up is weird and all over the place because you walk into this really nice entry way for check-in and everything looks fresh and new but the rooms are located in the back and then everything looks dated and old. Our room was very basic. The bed had some kind of weird hole/rip at the bottom. Curtains were gross and cheap with major "motel" vibes. Furniture was very old and worn out. The water smelled so I had to keep buying bottled water because I didn't want to risk drinking any tap water. Air conditioning was blasted everywhere even though it was in the 60's outside so I ended up being cold the entire time. There was also some kind of repair work going on in the room above us because there were really loud machinery noises from above most days. TV options were non-existent outside of basic channels-no streaming services or stream cast options. Food was overpriced and tasted cheap. But I feel if I was a kid in the 90's again, I would have thought this place was pretty cool. There's free mini golf that I never saw anyone play and needed to be cleaned off, but hey, it was there. The pools are nice. I never saw a hot tub but the map said there was one at the family pool that I missed. The restaurants are blasting the oldies 24/7. There are cookies at check-in. Staff seemed nice. I definitely wouldn't go again but it's also not the WORST place I've ever stayed. read more

Realistically the only good thing about this hotel is the fact that it's close to a lot of places besides just Seaworld and that is about the only thing it has going for it. The parking - Although not terrible given the fact that it is meant to have a security gate (which is always open or broken no matter the time or day) could be better if said gate actually functioned. It's one of those small plastic bars that realistically is not going to stop anyone from going into the parking lot if they really wanted to. Amenities- Can't really speak to this because we did not stay long enough to use anything more then what was in the room. Rooms - Here is where this place REALLY falls apart. I was not expecting 4 or 5 star quality given the price per night BUT what we got is essentially the worst you can imagine when stepping into any room. From stains everywhere to a horrendous mold smell to even a dead bug under the glass on the bathroom counter. There were stains on the bed sheets, floors, furniture was dusty and unclean, bathroom was okay but could of been better and not to mention the actual bathroom countertop. The bathroom itself had a horrible leak that would turn the floors into an indoor swimming pool every time you used them. Only 3 towels provided for a 4 person room. Not to mention there was never anyone to come by and see if we needed anything nor would they come by to make the beds and give us new towels unless requested. And lastly the horrible mildew or mold smell as soon as you walk in, nothing says we don't care about the health of our customers than having that smell the second you walk in. Overall the rooms are also dated and just felt very unclean and of low quality. I have to say I did not stay in the hotel. I have been here 3 times now just for planner conferences and an event. I have only walked around the premises. I have also used the parking lot. Parking I felt is quite expensive, but I am sure it is comparable with the other area hotels. I areas I visited seemed clean and well maintained. Although the furnishing seemed dated. I actually liked this hotel what bothers me is that I left a bag there with chargers, power banks, jewelry, pins from the trip I just took, and my seeing glasses. And I know I left them there because that's the last place I had them when packing and went straight to the airport then home. I didn't once unzip my suitcase or bags I had since my ID is held in my phone case and my ticket was on my phone. Yet they're saying the items weren't found anywhere in the room. Our stay was a mix of awesome and awful, but in the end, I think the awesome prevailed, but only just. Upon checking in, I was informed that there was a $15 per night parking fee. This wasn't explained upon booking the room, and this new knowledge was pretty upsetting as it added undue cost to the already expensive trip. Parking at this hotel is absolutely cut-throat. As the evening winds down and the spaces fill up, you'll be lucky to find one. At all. Not just one near your room (you won't), but AT ALL. I saw people parking at the strip mall across the street and walking over. I'm not sure if their vehicles were towed or not. We were told our standard, non-tower, room was ready, but it was not. It didn't take much to finish it up, but I noted the staff was sweeping the room, and there wasn't a mop to be seen. This comes into play later. I noted in this standard room that the bathroom was micro-mini. It was difficult to shut the door while in the bathroom. Instead of a shower curtain, there's a glass wall that only extends a short distance from the wall, ensuring a wet, post-shower, floor. Not well thought out. Sometime in the first night, it started to rain. In the bathroom. From the ceiling. Pushing past this, we awoke to a flooded room. I doubt this was the first occurrence, as there was a pre-existing hole in the paint where the water seemed to flow down the wall, behind the paint, and exit through the hole. It was like our very own water feature. I'm just glad it was clean water. On the way out for the day, we retrieved more towels and told the staff about the issue. We were ensured that "engineering" would take care of it. That next night it was apparent that nothing was fixed. More bathroom rain, and we awoke to a flooded room. I mentioned this to the front desk staff the next morning. I got VERY lucky as the human I spoke with seemed to be the over-all manager of the hotel. She apologized profusely, and we were able to relocate to a nicer room in the tower, along with a small credit for our inconvenience. The new tower room was much more spacious and included a much larger bathroom. Features that made sense, like a proper shower curtain, were also included, but there was no wet bar like the first room had. Not the biggest deal in the world. Now, about not seeing a mop: The photo I included was of my new sock after only about an hour in the first room. Would I stay here again? Perhaps if they would waive the parking fee, and I'd definitely stay in the tower. (Yelp said the sock photo didn't upload, and I'm tired of messing with it. o_0 ) read more

When I booked the "DoubleTree Hotel" I expected to get a "hotel" room. What we did get is basically an outdated motel. This place has a bunch of motel style rooms, the ones where your door is outside and you park right out front of your building. The photos all show the tower which is what you would assume you'd get, but the chances are you're going to be shoved in an outhouse building with thin walls and old rooms. No thanks. Also, I opted to do the mobile check-in and it told me I could go straight to my room with a digital key for a contactless check in experience. I checked in, and waited and waited for the key. Never got it, so I tried calling several times...no answer. So eventually I just had to go wait in the long line at the front desk just for them to tell me mobile check in is only for diamond guests. It was pretty frustrating. Another thing...my room only had 1 towel. So if you stay here, I recommend making sure you have towels before you hop in the shower. The room was clean at least. This place just reminded me why I usually book with Marriott brands. read more

Plenty of roaches and giant ants. Plenty of dust in the rooms, dirt and debris from previous guests so you know they don't clean the rooms. Unless you have a key to get out of the hotel security gates you will be stuck in the hotel. Rude and bitchy receptionists, terrible food quality. No wonder it's free and they give you a voucher for free breakfast everyday. The eggs are watery powdery eggs that taste like aluminum foil, only upside is the waffles and omelettes are fresh. Sheets were stained with blood, had literal roaches crawling on me in the night. Someone also was banging and trying to force their way into my room at midnight. On the outside, this place looks great. There's two pools and lots of activities for kids. When you walk in, the lobby smells like coconut lotion and you're greeted by friendly staff and delicious cookies. The main pool is a great place to relax and there is a bar with awesome happy hour deals and friendly bartenders. However, it's when you stay for a while you begin to see the flaws...and, it's more about what you DON'T see. I was here for work for a couple weeks. When I first arrived in my room I was instantly met with a strong smell of mildew and sulfur. I tried to look past it but it was impossible. The sulfur came from the water and it was strong enough that the bathroom constantly reeked of it. It burned my eyes in the shower and was completely undrinkable. I didn't even want to brush my teeth with it but didn't have much of a choice. You can get bottled water from the front desk, but doing that 2-3 times per day got exhausting. Also, the carpet was SO sticky it felt like dirty bar carpet. I walked barefoot ONCE and within a few steps, there was a black residue on my feet. I mentioned it to the front desk and they said they'd have my room "deep cleaned" but that definitely did not happen. I spoke with the maid the next day and she had no idea what I was talking about. I'm also convinced I suffered from some mold exposure symptoms while I was there. I switched rooms after 3 days because every morning I woke up wheezing and coughing up yellow mucous. When I asked to move rooms, they accommodated me but it felt like they thought I was being dramatic. It was far more than allergies. Allergies are clear mucous. This was yellow mucous accompanied by a dry cough. I also wasn't fatigued, so I know I didn't have a cold or anything like that. It began after the first night I slept there, remained throughout my stay, and has all but stopped since I left. The new room they moved me to wasn't any better. I also found out when I walked in on the maid, they spray some sort of "sanitizer" on the carpet and then vacuum it up...which I don't understand. So that tells me there are layers and layers of liquid that never gets to dry. That explains the stickiness and the mustiness. They should just rip up all the carpet...it'd solve a lot of the issues like the mildew/mold and stickiness. I've been home a few days and I'm slowly getting better. I'm still coughing, but less mucous is coming up so I guess my lungs are cleaning themselves out after several weeks of breathing in whatever is in that room. This would be a fine place to stay if you're here with a family going to SeaWorld for a day or two. If you're a single adult in town for business, stay somewhere else. As a Hilton Diamond member, I was EXTREMELY disappointed. I was glad that work payed for this stay because if it were up to me, I would have been gone after night two. I'm a loyal Hilton Honors member and will continue to be, but this particular location needs a lot of work. I would like to give one last shout out to the hotel staff. I try to put Hilton in the mix when ever I can and often choose their Double Tree brand. It has nothing to do with the warm cookies on check-in either wink, wink! This was my first stay at this property. I literally could see several other hotels from a distance that I have stayed in. The location is superb just outside the Orlando Convention Center, Seaworld and off of interstate 4. The primary reason we choose was due to the location close to Seaworld, but the price as right and I also successfully utilized Hilton points for FREE nights. There are so many amenities that our family did not utilize on this 30 acre property. I will mention anything that was used by my family. The landscaping was manicured very nicely. The check-in was one of the better hotel experiences I have ever had. All employees from pulling up to the front to getting in line were friendly. The gentleman who took care of me went through all amenities of the hotel including one that I did not know which was huge. Since Double Tree is a Seaworld partner they offer at no charge Quick Que vouchers. These are front of the line vouchers that are around $20 a piece if you have to purchase. This was a big deal for us. We also found out that there is a special entrance to Seaworld from the back of the Doubletree property. I would not advise it because it looks like a long hike. The property is completely secured by fencing and gates that allow traffic to flow in and out. A room key wave across the key pay allows access. After getting off the elevator the kids noticed a tray of chocolate covered strawberries setting on the main table from room service. It had yet to be picked up. Getting in the room was no issue with the same card key waved across the door sensor. The kids were totally stoked with the room and staying in "The Tower" on the 10th floor that overlooked Seaworld. This was very exciting to have such a view. The luggage rack was removed from the closet and I had to laugh. It looked like it belonged in a Super 8, not a high end DT property. It was old, rusty and looked like someone tried to paint over it. The room was a very nice double, clean and well appointed and decorated. I did notice that there were not a lot of outlets, but it would do for a couple of nights. We were pleased with a larger in room safe located in the closet. Everything in the bath was in good shape. A few things however... the tub had glazing at the top that had come off. A rubber ring around the controller had broken off and was hanging and the hinges on the door were all rusted out and looked just gross. For this level of hotel it was surprising. FREE WiFi was easily accessed with a room number and last name. For dinner the first night we utilized a sweet coupon with the check-in material for Max's Dinner. I will write up a separate review. It was a nice place the drinks, sandwiches, Starbucks coffee and pizza. The pizza was served hot, but meh! The night sleep was exceptional on the mattress's and the climate control worked flawless. All plumbing worked great and had nice water pressure. Housekeeping was excellent the whole stay and at no time did I have an issue with anything not working. My observant kids did notice that the plate of strawberries was still on the same table as it was 14 hours ago when heading out in the AM. That was not good and I would have the expectation from a management standpoint to check all floors in the evening... it never got done on this floor. By the next day in the afternoon it was gone. The kids checked out the 9 hole indoor mini golf and had a ball. There was an arcade too, but we did not utilize it. We really enjoyed out stay and it may seem like I was ultra critical. My expectation of a DT property is much higher than say a Holiday Inn. I bring these things out as I did on a close out survey so they can improve items I specifically pointed out. It is my opinion that this stay was a solid four star. But could easily be a five with proper oversight of management. I assume they want to get to the next level. read more

Cookies... Naw really you get cookies when you check in! Really good cookies that make you want to play rock, paper, scissors for another. A bunch of fun girls pack a car for a night of dancing. We were ready to leave the city for a few hours so we decide to grab a hotel for the night. Very organized and friendly staff get us checked in and direct us to our rooms. The layout is a little confusing. We were in no rush so we took it all in as a mini tour until we bump into our room. Rooms are clean and spacious and perfect distant and cost to get us to Cuba Libre for the night. While some run for the showers I continue my tour of the facility. Get into a game of giant checkers with some friendly guest and make it to one of the pool in search of an ice machine. There was also a small playground and outside bar. Since most kids were already in bed, I called dibs on the slide and enjoyed the nice night. When girls are sharing a room - it's all about counter space and mirrors. 4 girls in a room proved to be a ninja training skill of sliding into space whenever we could but size of the room was still decent. On our way out for the night we crossed several areas in the hotel that provided live music. Some back bar near the pools had guys on guitar, but the best was a man in the lobby playing the piano with a beautiful voice. He was cool with us taking pics and he seemed to enjoy us dancing bachata in the lobby to his music. The only nuisance was getting a taxi from the hotel? We called but no one showed. We asked guys at the front for help. I assume they tried ? but thankful another friend on the trip heard about this great new thing called "Uber." And it worked like a charm. We were picked up safely and dropped off later in the night. When leaving we decided to go back to the desk and thank the front staff for our stay - our reward - MORE COOKIES :-) read more

The hotel is very tired. The rooms need to be updated substantially. They were almost the same as 25 years ago when the hotel was the Sheraton World Resort. The bathroom is small and only includes the toilet and small shower/tub. The sink is in room/not separate so it wakes others if you go to the bathroom and wash your hands. Wouldn't stay here again especially with price. read more

Not a fan of this property. The property needs a good cleaning and polishing. I will say the staff were professional and nice but understaffed so expect a wait at check-in. The housekeeping is understaffed and a lot of rooms were not ready upon arrival like other Hilton properties. Meals were good and wait staff efficient. Breakfast was outstanding. Lots of smoking going on around the pool and property and quiet hours not enforced. Nothing against partying but for young families 10 pm should be quiet. While this is a resort property a business traveler may find another property a better choice. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE. The room had a strong smell like ammonia and was musty, moldy and dated. The shower had mold all in the grout. The wash cloth had a curly pubic hair curled in it. Towels smelled like they haven't been changed in months. The breakfast was poorly managed and the "upgrade" was more like an up charged downgrade. Nothing like paying extra for fake watery eggs and Walmart soggy bacon and sausage. This hotel is in desperate need of a makeover. It almost looks abandoned from the outside. Pretttttty big and lots of perks :) I had a good company deal but it was well worth the buck if I had to pay. I think the service at your room is better than the one at the front desk. They replaced my batteries in the a/c control, brought me cookies, and located things near by. Overall very helpful except for one girl who was adamant about me going to the front desk instead of sending someone to the room. They have a 24 hour fitness center and several heated pools that are open until 12 Wohoo!!! They also have a restaurant, deli, outside bar, giftshop, mini golf, spa, and more. The only downer so far is that the main lobby will put pails on the floor because the ceilings leak :( ooo so terrible-looking in such a fine main lobby! The location is really good and close to the airport, thrill parks, and great food - fancy to generic. Go the the Point plaza for dining if you can. read more

I had a horrible experience at the Tru Orlando (bed bug bites and rude staff) and the Hilton Diamond desk helped canceled my reservation and rebooked me at the Double Tree. Before checking in I'd already received an email from Marisa Ramos welcoming us to their property. From then on, it was smooth sailing. The Double Tree was extremely busy due to multiple events all happening at once. The lobby was always full of guests but never once did I feel unattended to! The front staff, the pool staff, the staff at Laguna and The Market, all were wonderful. Even the gardeners were nice. I felt very welcome there. We will return. Thank you Marisa Ramos and staff for taking great care of us. read more
