This was just gross. It can be cleaned with work and correct product, not just a spray of bleach.
Wendy S.

so friendly, helpful, and genuinely nice BUT... I reported the filthy bathtub, shower, and showed pictures to the maintenance people, and they said that's the best we can do and they blamed the gray sand at the waterfront. I couldn't take a shower. It was moldy and filthy grime. I was told the black was a reaction to the bleach they used to clean it... I'm not buying it. It takes elbow grease in the correct product

Well, the cookie was good anyway... Mystery crunchy stained sheets Pillows felt like Kleenex filled cases Love Olympia, will look for a better place to stay next time

Terrible hotel. Very grubby grimy. Photos to back this up. Staff was fine. I complained to corporate but they are sorry the stay did not meet my expectations. Not sorry the place is dirty and no offer to give me back a partial refund. I paid over $550 for one room 2 adults for 2nights. Do yourself a favor a find some place else to stay.

Lamp on nightstand

Bartender was more focused on discussing her garden with another patron, for at least 30 minutes. Talk, talk, talk. Even when we were ready to leave, she could not stop talking to the patron long enough to focus on wrapping up our bill. She would start writing on the receipt, then stop and talk to the same patron again. In the 1st room we stayed in: Refrigerator didn't work, USB ports did not work, screen on window was half ripped off. We moved rooms because we wanted a refrigerator that worked. 2nd room: One lamp on the nightstand (first room had one on each, and with device charging capability), nightstand lamp looked disgusting and like it had never been cleaned (on/off button had some sort of goo around it), one of the power outlets in the wall did not work, rooms still have the clocks with charging for first edition ipods. Front desk staff: Pure attitude.

Crisis averted. Pool is central to happy family trip for family. This property advertise pool in literally its most prominent picture (see screenshots) and we booked via Expedia. We were extremely lucky to later scan reviews which lead us to call hotel and THERE IS NO POOL. In hindsight I can see multiple other families falling for same trap and that management is aware of false advertisement and they are clearly taking no action beyond blaming employees for "communication" (see screenshots). For full disclosure. After reading the fine print I did finally find a mention of pool closure. No reasonable person will spot this fine print and management obviously had opportunity to edit the search metadata, but has chosen not to.

Torn up ottoman

The bathroom looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. There is blood on the walls. The ottoman in living room is torn up. The curtains are filthy. Half the rooms in the building are tented and are being gutted. The website advertises having electric vehicle charging and the front desk informed us there isn't charging and that they need to update the website. On top of that parking costs $10 a day which is a joke. I am just getting back into staying with Hilton and this is leaving a really bad impression. Tried to use the online chat feature on Hilton.com to voice concerns and was told they can't do anything since I was already checked in. You can't take feedback on a property after some is checked in? What a joke. I have a lot of travel booked with Hilton this year, but I might need to start going back to Marriott after this.

07.16.15 executive desk with free wifi (laptop not included) LoL :)

Felt relaxed! Location is in downtown Olympia in Washington. Checked in late afternoon during the July 4th weekend and the weather was in the low 80's. In fact, we were told that this temp was considered a heatwave which was going on for six weeks in a row here now. The three days we've stayed here has been nothing but dry and pleasant which is how I'm going to remember Washington, since this was my first time visit here in the state. Hotel parking gets full at night but parking on side streets after certain hours is okay without having to pay meter or be fined. Beautiful lobby with lounge area and fireplace. Large dining room where you can purchase breakfast (not sure about lunch or dinner). Easy check-in with a warm, chocolate chip cookie as a welcome treat. Friendly staff. Room is spacious and clean and no smell (very important!) and included a small fridge, coffee station, and microwave oven. Our room had two LCD TV's (one by the King size bed and one in the living room area with an executive desk complete with free Wifi. I brought my laptop so I was able to upload pictures instantly from my camera. The hotel is near I-5, the downtown waterfront and minutes from the State Capitol. Would've loved to explore more of the Capitol city but our short visit was hectic and didn't have enough time for everything. Overall, our stay in this hotel was nice and relaxing. Review #0319

This is the tiniest TV I have seen in a nice hotel in decades. What is going on? Pitiful! April at the front desk was superb!
Christie S.

First glance it was a nice sized room. You have to ignore all the swarms of homeless people that are within a one block radius. But when I saw this dinky television set, I was truly unimpressed. Come on Hilton! Except for the wArm cookie st night, this is no doubletree. Business center doesn't wrk. Breakfast was like a hampton inn.

Excuse for being absent way too long.

Ask the Community - DoubleTree by Hilton Olympia Downtown Capitol District

Has anyone had a meeting at this location? Looking to book space for end of September and this hotel was suggested to me for a group of 15.

Yes, it isn't a bad spot for meetings with lots of different sized room options, but keep in mind they started charging for parking even if you're an overnight guest and it is $10 per car per day.

I picked my aunt up aunt the Hampton and she was worried that it wasn't something impressive like the Ritz or something. But I walked in, saw the high ceiling and the modern decor and my aunt was so happy I gasped when I saw the breakfast area. So clean and comfortable. The staff is helpful and friendly. They have a complementary hot beverage bar in the lobby that is well stocked and cared for. They even have these cute baby ducks near the reception area that are just charming. The hotel itself is very nice on both the outside and inside, and has a pleasant smell and amenities. The front desk and cleaning staff were nice and cordial, but I did have some cold interactions with the staff stocking the complimentary breakfast bar. We were able to check in a bit early, and I appreciated being offered the choice to pick our room. However, the first room we tried was next to one where a dog was barking constantly, so we returned downstairs to request an another room. Unlucky for us, the second room turned out to be even worse. The towels and washcloths were sufficiently stocked, but a dispenser was all out of shampoo. One of the USB charging ports was broken. These weren't dealbreakers, but the empty shampoo dispenser was certainly a head-scratcher. I wasn't able to get the Wi-Fi working using my room # and last name, either, so this was another annoyance that added to the pile of frustrations. After our day of activities in Olympia wrapped, we came back to the hotel and wanted to get some shut eye as quickly as possible. It was at this time that our nightmare began...Somewhere below us, other guests were playing loud music with heavy bass combined with very spirited, party-esque dialogue. We were patient and waited for quiet hours to start, but over the course of the night, things got worse. Initially, I called the front desk to file a complaint and ask them to look into the partying atmosphere, which they said they would. When nothing really happened to quiet down the noise and quell the disruptive behavior, I got dressed and left our room to find where the noise was coming from, which happened to be the room right below us. I then went to the front desk and shared this information with the person on-duty who said they were going to look into it. The disruptive noise was more than just boisterous banter, loud music, and people having fun. Rather, it was loud music combined with people cussing each other out and making threats. The language being used was so aggressive and vile that we half-expected someone was going to get seriously hurt or killed. This went on for 4-5 hours. We all tried to sleep, but at 2 am, I called the front desk again to complain. The situation with the room below led us to feel the most unsafe we ever felt in a hotel. The next day, as we checked out, we had a lot to say after being asked the question, "How was your stay?" At this point, we learned the conclusion to the story--someone was kicked out of this hotel room over the argument or fight, but this didn't come soon enough for us to get a good night's rest, which was the main reason for getting s hotel in Olympia in the first place.

It's situated conveniently just off I5 (the rooms do get a lot of traffic noise) and not far from downtown (5 min drive). It's removed enough from downtown to not be in the hustle and bustle as well as to be in a pretty safe part of Olympia. We needed to check in early and when I called they said we wouldn't be able to, but upon arriving the front desk was able to accommodate us and get my disabled parents comfortably settled. Front desk was nice and accommodating during the whole stay. The rooms were comfortable enough with nothing extravagant but everything you need. I found the facility to be more 3 star but the service was really what earns the additional for me. I used the fitness room which had a few cardio machines and some free weights. Again kind of bare minimum but very clean and tidy and everything working. The breakfast room was nice with a menu to order from and the only guy running all the tables was so nice and always having to apologize because they were out of everything. Unbelievable it was a weekend and they started it with half their menu unavailable. He was nice and helpful to make other suggestions and very friendly. The food we did have was good and kept my parents pleased. Overall it is a solid place to stay in Olympia and we would return
