Pretty decent hotel. Pros: warm cookies delish. Staff were very friendly and helpful at the front desk. Parking is plentiful and even have covered parking for bad weather days. Restaurant in hotel has good food. Room was good size, beds were comfy. Had a fridge, makeup mirror, blow dryer, and iron. Cons: Seems like it could use some updating. My room had some tacky stuff on the floor that must have been from something being pulled up so that was unappealing. Restaurant is small and pricey with not a lot on the menu. Not a bad hotel. My name is Alexander I stayed here the week till 5/9 I had the extreme pleasure of staying in a clean room besides the fact that I believe the guest before me smoked marijuana and the smell came through the vents. Other than that the rest of my stay was amazing. Nabila as beautiful as she is her hospitality and customer service is equally beautiful. She made my stay a very comfortable stay. The food for breakfast was a delight to dine with excellent comfortable dining service offered personally by Fatmir and Barise please forgive me if I spelled them wrong. With these members and I had a chance to dine also for dinner the Embers restaurant enjoying the Ribeye cooked to perfection and ready promptly after a long days work was quite a delight and much appreciated to allow me to enjoy my evening even more. OK this will not be my normal in depth hotel review. As a Hilton Gold member this is probably in the bottom 5 of Hilton Properties I have ever stayed at. This hotel does not feel like a normal Doubletree... in a bad way. It's trying to be way too fancy and it's façade is showing. Other Doubletrees are very homey feeling and inviting... this one feels cold, impersonal and a little stuck up. Room 607 My bed's headboard lights and power plugs are not working. I plugged in the loose plug into the outlet and the headboard power devices are still out. The door to my room is difficult to close, the sweep is really dragging on the rug. The HVAC in the room is not efficient... the room does not cool down quickly considering the output is pretty wide. There appears to be a paper bag stuck behind the screen of the HVAC output The bathroom needs some maintenance....I was afraid to shower. I actually did not shower...as I started the hot water, the water that came out was rust color... the photo I took was about 3 minutes of letting the water run... it was way darker. Talked to the front desk and they offered to move me the the 14th floor, but I turned it down... itbwas late and I will just sleep. They dis give me a few bottles of water so I can brush my teeth. The only saving grace is the staff. The Front Desk and Food Staffs are great. Friendly and very helpful. Note the lobby does not have a shop or convenience corner. The vending machines on 2 of the floors that I checked are out of Diet Cokes. If you are using Touch to pay for drinks, they charge you $3.50 instead of $3.00. Note you need to checkin with the front desk to get the wifi password. The QRC sticker in the room is basically useless giving generic information. The resturant buffet breakfast is $21.95. So heads up Gold+ HHonors members. The prices are not listed. I did not see any microwave ovens in the common areas and there was none in my room. Not sure how convient this is. read more

This hotel is in desperate need of the planned updates!! Very worn and not at ALL what you expect at a Doubletree Hotel!! You have to call maintenance to get the room thermostat changed. The mattress in my room feels like a brick. The pillows are worn out. The towel bar is crooked. The closet doors are missing. I could keep going but it really is just a mess! The staff are wonderful and the restaurant had really good food. But everything else was worn and outdated. Hard pass next time I'm in town....unless they have finished the remodel! read more

As a Hilton Gold member, this is the first and last time I will ever stay at this hotel. If a tour company books it for my group again I will find a new hotel elsewhere and tell my group to do the same. We were forced into this hotel because that is where our tour company placed us. Because it is a Hilton, I expected much better. Based on previous reviews, the only thing that has changed is a coat of paint to hide the nonsense; but even that hasn't helped. It's almost like a slumlord painting an apartment to hide damage. I do not know if this place had a fire and the sprinklers caused massive water damage or what, but it basically needs to be renovated from top to bottom and not just have a new facade. We were in town for a family gathering and this hotel being so close to Cooper River Park was the perfect location. Check-in was not quite as smooth as it could have been as part of our group were still waiting for their rooms until almost 5pm but staff were trying hard. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, we had a lovely view of the River! Don't hesitate to stay here when visiting southern Jersey or Philly. It was a quick drive over the bridge into the city. The staff was nice enough, including restaurant and bar. That is the only reason I would even give it a star. You cannot adjust the ac temperature in your room. The pool has pieces of it that are broken off and floating in it. It hasn't been cleaned in god knows how long. There was debris floating in it. Someone came to check the chemicals while we there and left-there was no noticeable smell of chlorine and the pool was filthy. Decrepit. Dingy. Dated. Not "D" words that would usually go with "DoubleTree". Was holding out hope, but as another Yelper noted it's hard to believe the Hilton name is attached to this. Front desk clerks were friendly, and accommodating. But failed, despite multiple opportunities, to provide the signature cookie. Based on the rest of the experience, I'd wager the oven wasn't even in working order. They did however move our room to another when we went back because of noisy neighbors in a connecting room the first time around. The rooms have clean bedding, but are worn and tired. The wallpaper is peeling. There are multiple signs of damage to walls and furniture alike. And this in one of the better rooms. Painter's tape was left in the lobby. A minor thing, but indicative of the overall lack of attention to detail that is atypical of Hilton brand properties. The lobby was one of the more promising aspects in general, looking reasonably elegant. After you pass the leaves, trash on the ground and mostly vacant parking lot outside that you think is part of a "Walking Dead" set. Took advantage of the food/drink credit to eat at the bar and have a beer. The food was decent. The fries were actually really good, and hot. The fish, well, a little overdone but not terrible. The beer choices are decent. Service was great. But that sadness. The sense that this is a hotel out of its time and long past its prime. Just so hard to escape it. On a positive note, they are leaving letters in the rooms explaining the HVAC thing, and ours has worked well enough...so far. read more

Do not stay here! The air conditioner in my room didn't work and I spent the entire day going back and forth with staff starting at 9 AM and six visits to the front desk to get it fixed. I'm told this hotel just changed to a Doubletree and is undergoing renovations. Even though my room had not been updated, it was fine, and the bed was super comfortable. The front desk staff were all very nice, and upgraded me to a beautiful river/ city view. The bathroom seemed to be the most dated part, with an old, crumbling bathtub. Does anyone take baths while traveling? Save one floor with bathtubs for kids, and put showers in the rest. Location is pretty good for Philly trips, but the construction on 70 is a nightmare (not their fault, I know). So why three stars? The elevators are scary. I got stuck briefly in elevator #2. Three other people said to avoid it, calling it the "elevator from he**." One person said they got stuck and reported it, and maintenance told them they "pushed the wrong buttons." We all know how elevators work, pretty idi*t-proof, right? The other elevators were clunky and noisy, but worked ok. My last day I came down to the lobby and before I had a chance to get off the elevator, an employee with a huge catering cart backed right in, if I hadn't jumped backwards he would have knocked me over. He apologized, but holy cow, that was a close call. There were no USB ports on the lamps or at the desk. The plug next to the bed was so loose that the plug would just fall out. A real desk lamp would've been nice, the table lamp there was inadequate. The ceiling was water-stained, and there was peeling paint in the bathroom. The amenities stated that there were in-room safes, but my room didn't have one. A microwave would have been nice also. I'm almost talking myself out of a three-star review as I type this... The little coffee shop is only open on weekends, but there's a restaurant. I didn't try it, so I can't comment. The lobby looked nice if you want to hang out there. I'm sure once the renovations are complete, it will warrant a higher review, but not until those elevators are replaced. read more

This hotel was by far the worst Hilton hotel experience to the point my family and I checked out early. The a/c did not work on the top floor of the hotel nor in the room (14thfloor). They moved us to a different room and the a/c still did not work on the floor and barely worked in the room (4thfloor). Fruit flies continued to manifest from somewhere in the bathroom. The staff was nice enough but the building is visibly old and worn down. To top it off, the breakfast that we paid for was subpar. The best thing about the stay was knowing we will receive some of our money back since we checked-out early. read more

If I could have given less than 1 star I would have. I recently spent two nights in this "hotel" while away from home on business. Traditionally Hilton and or Marriott are my choice of hotels and rarely if ever do I have issues. This hotel however I knew was a problem before I drove into the parking lot. From the highway I saw a run down old hotel with the DO missing from the rooftop Double Tree sign. Should have canceled the reservation right then but I gave them the benefit of a doubt based on past stays. Libby was a facade of what was hidden on the room floors. I was given a room on floor 4 that was recently "remodeled". I entered the hallway to find fans running in the hallway and the rancid smell If wet carpet and most likely mold. I entered the room to find a broken toilet seat, dust an inch thick on the AC vent and black mold/filth on the bathroom vent fan. Disgusting room. My peer whom I was traveling with found his room dripping water from the sealing near the entrance way. We were each assigned new rooms on floor# 5 also allegedly remodeled. My peers room was fine but my new room had a broken, smelly refrigerator and the AC wasn't working on a 95 degree day. The manager was apologetic and reassigned me yet again, this time the refrigerator worked and the AC worked... what a concept. All though the customer relation's manager "fixed" the issues I was given 2 free breakfast vouchers for my troubles but no money taken off of the room or a compensation worthy of moving rooms multiple times. Needless to say I didn't use the vouchers and will never stay here again in fact my choice will cause to lean on Marriot/Bonvoy going forward for my future business trips. This hotel should not have the Hilton name tied to it. read more

We stayed at the double Tree in Cherry hill 9/21 to 9/25. We will never stay at a Double Tree again. The room was cold. First, they said it was being fixed in a few minutes. Next time we called, they said it was still in summer mode & they would send someone up to convert our room to winter. No one came. The next day it was still being worked on. We found that turning off the power to the blower kept the room warmer, it got up to 71. At 77 YO, I prefer 76. The room phone didn't work. We told them several times. Finally, some one came on the morning we checked out, said the headboard would have to be taken down. The room was not made up on Saturday or Sunday, despite our asking at the desk. After reading the reviews, we made sure to ask for a renovated room due to our bad allergies. Kimberly (rev manager) was super helfpul via email with our concerns. We also requested early check in as we were arriving at 3pm as we had to catch the wedding shuttle at 4:15-4:30 and check in was 4pm. They couldn't accommodate that request so needless to say we barely had any time in our room. Only to get ready quick and leave and then to sleep there. It was a renovated room but maybe not the best workmanship as the bathroom door wouldnt close all the way and there was yellow leaking from under the wall paper in the bathroom. The front desk staff did try and accommodate us as to early check in but it wasn't until we called at 4pm, that they said our room was finally ready. As others have said, the hotel definitely needs a facelift but overall our stay was ok as we enjoyed being on the same floor (12th) as other wedding guests and we utilized the lobby after the wedding to continue our time with family and friends. (Note: Friends who had breakfast there said it wasn't great). read more

I arrived for a late check-in and all went well until I reached my room. Please note it was clean and very well maintained, my concerns was the heat was not properly working and when I tried to call the front desk, the phone was not working so there could not call anyone. There I just touched it out and tried to sleep in a frigid room. Next morning I had a early morning meeting and did not have the opportunity to speak with anyone about the situation. Upon returning to my room after my conference meeting, the room had not been cleaned. At this point I was just disappointed and wanted to share my experience with the community. Hotel service is just not what it use to be. You would think that for $200 a night, you would get an iron, a microwave, and a trash can in the bathroom! Welp! Nope! Not at this hotel. When I asked about a microwave I was told it would be $20. Two and a half hours later, I'm still waiting on both a microwave and an iron! This hotel is in such disrepair. I can't believe the Hilton name is on it. First there is carpet everywhere even in the sink area! The ceiling in the hallway is falling apart, doors need painting or to be replaced, wallpaper is peeling all over the place, vents need to be cleaned, lightbulbs are out in the bathroom, and these little book lamps on the headboard don't even work! It's just an overall icky hotel in a beautiful part of the city. When you first walk in the lobby, it's nice and the staff are super friendly; albeit slow! ZERO STARS!!!! This place needs to be investigated for human trafficking ASAP. I agreed to stay in the place for a work trip bc it was nearby. I didn't read the reviews bc I have stayed in hiltons and I trusted the brand blindly, FOOLISHLY. The room was clearly downtrodden but I didn't make a fuss as I was only to be there two nights. On the second night, at 9:30pm I was contemplating a shower and to get to sleep, but my sister called me. Thank god bc as I was sitting in the chair talking, I heard keys jingle. I was staring at the door with the deadbolt locked and I couldn't believe it when a man in a dew rag walked right into my room!!!!!! I immediately ran to door and he was asking if there was water in the room as in if the walls were leaking? I screamed at him to get out and wth was wrong with him for not knocking or calling the room?!!!!! So I ran to call the front desk and there was no dial tone. I ended up speaking to front desk on my cellphone and she reassured me I was safe and it was an accident from maintenance fixing a broken pipe. Later that night I investigated the deadbolt. It had been torn and bent and gently pushed back in so unless you touched it or saw it from the side it looked normal. That night I barricaded the door just in case. The following morning as I'm getting ready to to leave I heard a quick knock followed immediately with keys jingling and the door being shoved open AGAIN!!! Had the chain not been there another man would've walked in!!! Wtf does the Hilton brand stand for??? NEVER AGAIN!!!!! I'm traumatized from ever feeling fully safe in a hotel. When I went down to the front desk, they were all quietly staring at me freaking out and apologized. Didn't ask if I was ok. Absolute GARBAGE AND DUMP!!!! COCKROACHES! Gross. Place is rundown, cockroaches in the bedroom, didn't even have the coffee shop open in the morning to get a mocha.

The staff was friendly. And the lobby was spacious and decorated well. However, the stay was not the best and memorable for the wrong reasons for us 8 guests. We asked for early check-in and was told it could be accommodated for 3pm, however, upon actual arrival (which happened to be 3:50pm, 10 mins before posted check in time), rooms were not ready. When the rooms finally became available one of the rooms..mine.. extremely uncomfortable. AC set at 60 degrees it still felt like a sauna. After two maintenance calls in which they tried to fix problem, we were then told by Nick (who was nice about it), that because of the location of the room, that's why it was uncomfortable and by evening time it should cool off. Also stated due to multiple people in the room and because we had hair thats also why the room was so hot. Are you kidding me, As an avid traveler those responses were unacceptable and quite frankly rude. I've been to Vegas with temperatures over 100 degrees and our rooms air conditioning was on point. Something is gravely amiss if you can only enjoy your room after the sun goes down. In addition, the showers in both rooms either produced a terribly cold or extremely hot shower in the morning, no regulation of temperature for the shower worked. And one toilet did not flush. The bathrooms are in need of serious upgrades. Things happen and I get that. However, this building is in need of serious upgrades in order for it to be a consistently comfortable stay. Based on this experience, I do not have an intention of staying again. read more

I didn't feel comfortable staying in my room because the AC vent was dirty and covered in dust and asked to be switched to a different room. The woman at the front desk said that wasn't possible because all rooms were assigned and they were expecting a large group. I told her that when I looked at checking in online it gave me a list of options for rooms and she said it was impossible for me to change my room and the best she could do was clean it. I said I wasn't comfortable with that because then the dust would be flying around the room and it was already 930pm at night and it seemed really late to clean the room and expect me to stay there when I already said I wasn't comfortable there. She insisted it was impossible to get a new room - so I requested to cancel my reservation to which the gentleman who checked me in came out and said it was ok for me to cancel. I was polite and the issue was resolved quickly within minutes, but I looked online while at the front desk before I canceled my reservation and if I booked a new reservation then I would've been assigned a new room... I don't believe there is a reasonable explanation for why she wouldn't assign me a new room if that was the case. read more

Stayed here twice in two months. I am Hilton Diamond member. The first time, I was in a room on a newly renovated floor with a renovated room. The second time, I was on floor six which was a very worn out floor with a very worn out room. Terrible room that made me think I was in Camden instead of Cherry Hill. Surprised Hilton allows this property to still be a Hilton. This place is a dump. The entire property needs to be renovated and real soon. read more
