The staff allows people to sleep in their cars in the parking lot and they have a weed smoking area by the dumpster. After dark there are people on the side of the building smoking weed and hanging out or passed out by or in cars. During my stay there were people telling me room keys were given freely and unauthorized to people to enter others rooms. I did not feel safe and would not recommend lack of safety measures and people hanging around there that staff allows. read more

This is actually a review of the Woodspring Suites hotel at 4050 Woodhaven Road in Philadelphia. I'm sure i reviewed this hotel before, as I've been staying here for the past year, but the hotel was recently bought by new owners who, although they're in the hospitality business, seem to know nothing about the hospitality business. First, they got rid of the complimentary coffee machine in the lobby which really effected the workers who need to get out by 5-6am,when nothing is open. They reduced the frequency of dumpster pickups, so there's always garbage strewn about the parking lot. They fired the three most experienced, helpful front desk administrators and replaced them with people with no experience and unpleasant personalities. For a hotel with several hundred guest rooms, there's most often only one housekeeper on duty, who cannot possibly do everything she's assigned. Again, for such a large hotel, there is but one maintenance guy who cannot possibly do his job effectively, although he really tries without complaints. The general manager and assistant general manager are wonderful, but it seems that their hands are tied. There is so much more, folks. I can no longer recommend staying at this hotel because the latest owners don't seem to give a fuck about you and me. read more

I was transitioning to a new apartment and needed a wait a few extra days for my apartment to be ready so I stayed here because it was at a convenient location not far from work. Absolute mistake. I'll never stay here again this place is filthy dirty disgusting. When I got into this room the floor was absolutely filthy disgusting. Upon arrival, I had to wait until 11:15 AM for the front desk agent, Danny, to finally show up. When he did, he completely disregarded my presence, prioritizing his food delivery before acknowledging me. When he finally addressed me, it was with a dismissive "How can I help you?" He then proceeded to handle my request for a room key without verifying my identity, which is concerning from a security standpoint. Unfortunately, the key card provided did not work. After two unsuccessful trips back to the front desk to resolve the issue, I was told to come back down instead of being offered the courtesy of having a key brought to me. When Danny finally agreed to accompany me to my room, I was left waiting by the elevator for several minutes, only to find him eating again when I returned to the front desk to check on the delay. When Danny and a female staff member finally arrived at my room, they discovered that the door batteries were dead. Despite their efforts, they were unable to fix the door or provide me with a working key or an alternative room. It has now been 40 + minutes since this ordeal began, and I still do not have access to my room. This entire experience has left me extremely agitated and stressed at a time when I should be able to rest and enjoy my stay. Woodspring suites seemed not too shabby at first look, however, I should have known better whenever the hotel description says "extended stay hotel". As we entered the elevator it reeked as if someone was just vaping in there. The room: The bathroom door had a fist size hole in it as if someone punched it. The bed had a couple spots on the sheets that was clearly from bed bugs and the wall was scratched up from the lounge chair. The room was badly in need of some touch ups. Regarding the Woodspring Suites in Cherry Hill, NJ... I'd stayed at this property a few times in the past with no problems. Very recently I returned for another stay. Where as the room appeared to be clean I had the unfortunate experience of having to kill several baby cockroaches that were running around on the bedside table. !!! I was not mistaken about exactly what these insects were. I've lived in urban environments for decades and there was no mistaking that these were juvenile cockroaches. This property is clean, has rooms with kitchens and offers the very basic amenities and no extras. Note: Woodspring Suites is really for people who are bringing in most of their own items and staying a long time and have true "extended stay" needs, as the amenities here are very limited. Our relatives were not aware of this before making their reservation, as they were only visiting for a few days. (Maybe we missed something, but hopefully this info helps someone else): Pros: clean, friendly, quiet and the rooms have kitchens. Plus, it's a convenient location in Cherry Hill! Cons: 1. Although there is a microwave, there is not a coffee maker in the room. The front desk has them for sale but since this was a short visit, it did not make sense for us to purchase one. 2. There is a small kitchen in the room, but there was only one tiny pan and no tea kettle or utensils, either. 3. Very limited towels (again, I think guests are supposed to bring their own. 4. No bath products or hairdryer. 5. No housekeeping (and no option to pay for housekeeping, either). SO....we moved them to the Doubletree nearby...the rooms are "all suites" with a separate living room, and the property is a true "hotel," which is what they needed. We absolutely love the Woodspring Suites! The rooms are clean, and intelligently designed; very similar to the Staybridge by IHG and the TownePlace Suites by Marriott. We love the ability to store luggage and other items underneath the bed. A closet is always great too, but in this case, we rented the queen bed studio room and it was nice to have the extra space on the floor, along with the shelves, open "closet" space with hangers, and the two drawers underneath the TV (even another floor space area under those two drawers! The bathroom is very noteworthy. Long, beautiful countertop with an equally long and tall mirror. Plenty of space for 2, even 3 people, to get ready side by side if need be. Bathroom gets an A+ from me. There's an Ethernet port (and two power outlets) at the desk, table height (awesome!). This allows you the ability to use a travel router in Access Point mode to create a new network and use a phone or laptop to cast / talk to a Roku or any other streaming device connected to the TV. There's only one downside. The internet speed is very slow. We tested less than 1mbps on "free" WiFi, and paid WiFi gave us 3-6mbps. Websites weren't loading. A movie we streamed stopped playing for a few minutes. If they increase the speed by just 5-10mbps, this would be a 5/5 Star Hotel, without hesitation. Thank you for such a great experience. Omg this place is HORRIBLE! I've never been to New Jersey before but I flew in to shoot a wedding. We stayed at Woodspringa because the pictures looked like the rooms were spacious and nice. However, this was not the case. Please must live here. The place smells disgusting! They're are gang signs on engraved in the elevator. You can have animals and the walls are so paper thin that at 7 in the morning a dog was howling and parking for about 30 minutes. The room we had was so small. We have a queen bed at home and this had to have been a full, not a queen. The pillows are so hard! You get one towel per person. If you need new towels, you must bring your old towels down. There was no iron and ironing board. Idk I'm not sure what this place was but I definitely do NOT recommend this place. read more

Coming here only had me spending more money beyond my booking price because the smallest things you'd expect from a hotel just doesn't exist here. Want to sweep or mop up a mess? You have to go to the front desk and borrow a broom and dustpan. Want new towels? You have to bring your dirty ones to the front desk and come back later for new ones. Need toilet paper? You have to go to the front desk and ask for a roll. They don't have hand soap or shampoo, so don't bother asking for that. Bring your own. Need a TOILET PLUNGER? You need to go to the front desk to borrow one. Laundry of course, isn't free either. You have to pay for washing and drying. This applies to soap as well. Want to dispose of your trash that was in your small wastebasket? Take it to the smelly dumpster outside. By the way, I hope you brought your own garbage bags. You got dirty dishes? All you'll get is two packs of dishwashing powder, you'll have to go the front desk for more, or buy your own. You want to bake food? I hope you brought a cooker, because there's only an electric stove and fridge. The wi-fi is EXTREMELY slow. I don't remember the exact speeds, but it's like a 2/2 speed. The first night is free, but the rest of the nights, you have to pay. Also, they NEVER tell you this, but only up to three devices can be used at once per room. There is a plan for a faster wifi speed, but it's only like.....6 mbs, which is still unacceptably slow if you want to do anything involved on the internet. The wiring may have issues at this place as well. I've had the power trip twice during the stay. Fortunately, the circuit box was in a convenient spot. The ONLY thing I will commend about this place is that the staff was friendly to me, but THAT'S IT. Don't come here with the expectations of having basic things provided for you. read more

I booked a hotel room here and paid for it in advance, so the booking was already paid for before I checked in. All I should have had to do was provide a credit card for incidentals. When I arrived the front desk worker (Ana/Anna) told me that my reservation had been lost or not recorded in the system, and that they had booked up for the night and were not able to accommodate me. When I asked clarifying questions about how that could be, the story changed slightly each time. After that, she told me that reservations come in the fax machine and if someone working doesn't "put it in the system" its like it never existed. I then told Ana that I had made the reservation the same day - the same day she was working. She began to backtrack and say it wasn't her who lost the reservation. I ended up having to sleep in my car in the parking lot because all of the other hotels in the area were booked. Would not recommend at all, especially if you're a woman traveling alone. As I waited on the phone for HotelTonight to speak with her to verify everything, I watched as she sat there and let the phone ring multiple times, even as she wasn't helping other customers. I then sat and watched as other hotel guests arrived to check in with no problem, some of them seemingly making new bookings. On top of that, my mother called the hotel just to inquire as to whether there were any rooms available to verify Ana's story. Ana told her there were rooms available with double beds, even after she had turned me away and I already had a confirmed, pre-paid booking. On top of all of this, this hotel is not taking ANY precautions against COVID-19. There was a man talking on the phone in the lobby for at least as long as I was there without a mask. Several more guests came in and out of the lobby and sat down, some of them without wearing masks and they were coughing. Ana herself at the front desk was not wearing a mask. When I called the front desk before traveling to the hotel to ask about a specific amenity, the recording asked me to press for the front desk, and it hung up on me. Figuring it may have been user error, I called back and was hung up on again. If you want quiet, stay away from here! Stayed here on a Saturday night in February. Selected it based on location and price. No one at the front desk when we arrived, just a sign asking us to wait. We waited along with a couple of others. Taylor showed up a few minutes later to start checking people in. She was pleasant, but pretty busy. Got up to the room and found the rooms are not carpeted, so kind of noisy. Lots of noise in the hall. Doors slamming, people yelling. Dog barking in the next room. Called the front desk and spoke to Taylor. She told us the hotel was sold out so she couldn't move us to another room. Dog barking continued. Called the front desk again. No help there. E-mailed manager. No response. A couple of days later we got a "please tell us about your stay" e-mail, so we told them what happened. Here is their response: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. I am very sorry about the noise issue you had while staying with us. We try our best to keep the hotel as quiet as possible, and it seems like this time we fell short. My name is Thelma I stayed at this hotel one night I am a pet owner of a little 10 dog when I made this reservations I stay at this hotel I went through Expedia there was no information about pets . So I did my homework before making the reservation. I called the hotel directly and was told I would pay 10$ pet fee that was non refundable and a 50$ pet deposit that I would get back at checkout. I then called Expedia and got the same information. That's when I felt safe to book my reservation. Upon checking in the girl that checked me in at the hotel I asked her about the pet fees and she told me the same thing . Now when I'm Checking our the manager Edwin tells me I get nothing back so I paid 63.$ because I had a pet . When I try to explain to the manager edwin Olivera he talks over me and keeps telling me to go through Expedia. I told him I was not only told this by Expedia but by his company also and he says the girl that checked me in wax new do she didn't know the policy. He is so non empathetic of my situation. I called Expedia they called them and read the policy I was told right to them I was standing right there. But they argue that that policy is incorrect. This hotel is basically a jail simulator. It's incredible how awful it is, perhaps find a local cop and ask their opinion before staying. I honestly couldn't wait to leave and write this review, The level of terrible this place was is astounding. People live here, people you would pay an additional 20$ a night to never be in the same building with. This place is legitimately scary, the entire place inside and out will smell like weed often, and I felt bad for every older couple and decent looking traveling people who I would see check in. Was woken up one morning to banging on my door because someone was smoking cigarettes in their rooms and the manager needed to check every room, place reeked for two days. Housekeeper seemed like she was unemployable anywhere else, but don't worry in the week I stayed she never serviced my room. Beds are probably the cheapest they could find, pillows and bedding is same. Fairly recent renovations by the look of things, front desk staff was very friendly, nothing redeemable about this place at all I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, please don't let the pictures of review fool you, this is a cheap motel with the destitute clientele from down the road (Camden/philly) taking residence here. Visiting my cousin who lives about a mile from this hotel... so very convenient for me for one night. Check in went smoothly ~ though the staff was efficient - they are very low key, no chit-chat, no frills. I thought this place was probably great for the low cost. The tiny reception area was kind of funny to me for some reason. No lingering there. The laundry room / utility room was immediately behind the reception desk so that work space is in full view of the guest when the door is open... not really classy -- it's a reminder I looked for the cheaper cost hotel I guess. I will note -- if the reception staff is also covering the laundry duties -- I totally get the placement of the door.... though I don't like it. ANYWAY. My room was spacious with two queen size bed. Only one front desk check in, so if its busy expect to wait. One elevator on each side of hotel. Halls clean. Get to my room and the first things I notice are the smell and something on the ceiling (see pic I posted). This stain looks like it could've easily been painted over but it wasn't. So the smell: go in the bathroom (the suite was freshly cleaned) it smells like poop. idk why. There was an overall weird smell in the room so I bought a candle to mask the scent! The bed was supposed to be queen but it mustve been a small queen. lol. Now noise. I heard constant talking, moving around and music, in the hallway and while I was in my room. Next door it sounded like someone's child was just stomping around at 7AM. Upstairs it sounded like they were doing jumping jacks. Walls are definitely thin in this place. 4:08AM Sun morning I am awakened by someone outside yelling up at "Meer" to come down and let them in the locked doors. 6AM Sun morning, again the upstairs person was walking and stomping around. Child next door talking loud enough for me to hear each word. Now at 8:50AM someone is knocking on my door. WTF? 9:40AM AGAIN HOUSEKEEPING KNOCKING ONY MY DOOR. CHECK OUT IS NOT UNTIL 11AM! Worst customer service experience ever! Be very cautious about staying here. I went and made a reservation for October 12th until the 13th for a wedding I was attending that weekend. Knowing that the wedding didn't start until five that evening I requested a late check out. The reservationists and the Suites confirmed a 2:00pm check out. Which I thought was great and very accommodating. However, I received my bill and behold they charged me for two nights. When I called to dispute the charge they informed me they see the late check out request but because one of the managers didn't sign off I was responsible for the charge. Edwin the General Manager was as rude as could be and called me a liar even though he said He sees the request for the late check out. The woman who they claim never worked there by the name of Tanya or so she called herself that and told me she was a manager who agreed to the 2:00pm check out wrote nothing in the notes and therefore they feel I should be responsible for the charge. After Edwin kept calling me a liar and citing policy he did nothing at all to make a customer who has stayedthere several times any accommodation at all for their error. I called their so called customer service who did nothing but speak to this Edwin. They won't give you anyone else to speak with or file a complaint with. However I did find someone after an hour on my computer find who owns the property and left a message. I have never been so horrified and insulted by anyone. Edwin has no customer service skills and couldn't have cared less losing us as customers. He's a robot that cites policy even though I was told by their management that the 2:00pm check was ok. Had I known they would charge me another night I would have left the Suites at 11:00am and gone next door to stay with either my brother or sister who live next door at the Grand Apts. No need for my husband nor I to sit there and be charged when we weren't aware of this charge. Also I would have stayed the night had I known I was being charged and not driven back to Maryland at 1:00am for four hours. I will continue to dispute this bill. My suggestion is DO NOT EVER STAY At A WOOD SPRING SUITE. Especially the one in Cherry Hill NJ. No one to help you and they speak to you like your trash. I guess you get what you pay for. Admittedly my stay was only 2 nights, but I was pretty pleased. It's a no frills place, but it was clean and quiet. I found the staff to be polite and helpful. For the price, I really can't complain. This was by far the worst hotel I've stayed in. I usually don't like to get on yelp to bash, but I was that disappointed. Rooms weren't cleaned daily. Only every two weeks. Thankfully they had brooms available for guests. WiFi needed to be paid for. Towels needed to be picked up at the front desk. Which is no big deal. But the front desk was always out of towels! Maybe because they didn't care enough to start washing until they were asked. And the straw that broke the camels back... bed bugs. I always check due to paranoia. I found none. But one day on my way out of the front door, I hear a man speaking with the manager. He wanted a new room. But he was denied because they didn't want the bugs to spread. Hopefully they warned the guests in the adjacent rooms, because bed bugs spread like the plague. If I had anything positive to say, it would be the rooms have a decent set up.
