I was delighted to find Studio Montage open one evening when I intended to get dinner at thr neighboring Rib & Chop house. I made my appointment for a Saturday afternoon haircut with Kelsi. Kelsi listened to my tales of bad haircuts so patiently and we had time to talk about the style I wanted--asymmetrical a-line, and even showed her some previous good haircuts I had. At first, she was going very conservative with the amount cut off, but we both realize that I have too much hair and need to pivot with removing volume via texturizing scissors without sacrificing the shape. The haircut in its final form is, as the kids these days say...VERY DEMURE, VERY MINDFUL. I look good. And this was also my first time with a professional so I was a little nervous. But he is so sweet and so much fun. We were talking and laughing the whole time. He was gentle with my hair, and I wasn't uncomfortable at all. The salon is cozy and you can tell everyone enjoys their job. My hair was sooooo soft still even after all the treatments needed to lighten it and re-color it. I was a light brown before. And before I left, he mixed me a bottle of the fancy Lanza conditioner with the purple color mixed it to help the color stay longer, and gave me a bottle of the styling gel he used which is amazing as well. I went back in a couple months later and even he was surprised at how well the color stuck. The purple barely faded, and the darker brown faded to a nice shade of brown that still complimented the purple. I have another appointment next week to get more purple put it, and really bring the color out. I recommend him to anyone that asks for hair stylists.
