I've had bad experience at a salon where I previously lived in the east coast and was cutting my own hair after that because of how bad the cut was. I was delighted to find Studio Montage open one evening when I intended to get dinner at thr neighboring Rib & Chop house. I made my appointment for a Saturday afternoon haircut with Kelsi. Kelsi listened to my tales of bad haircuts so patiently and we had time to talk about the style I wanted--asymmetrical a-line, and even showed her some previous good haircuts I had. At first, she was going very conservative with the amount cut off, but we both realize that I have too much hair and need to pivot with removing volume via texturizing scissors without sacrificing the shape. The haircut in its final form is, as the kids these days say...VERY DEMURE, VERY MINDFUL. I look good. This was my salon, though no more! I had been out of town for four months and desperately needed to have my hair done. I contacted the salon to see if I could quickly get in to see my stylist (I have short hair, and she has cut my hair in 20 minutes). The receptionist said she had nothing available for another month or so. I asked if she could please check with my stylist (since she can cut my hair in 20), and she said yes (with a mega sigh!). I just relocated to the great Falls area and wanted to get my eyelashes done. I found Ashleys work on the studio montage instagram page and had to book an appointment based off the pictures ( which by the way don't do the lashes any justice for what they really look like in person). The salon was very upscale and everyone was extremely friendly. I am black and had a few encounters with racism here in great falls but one thing is for sure that you won't have to worry about experiencing any discomfort at Studio Montage. Ashley is extremely nice and made me feel very comfortable. She is a perfectionist when it comes to installing the eyelashes. I will totally recommend this spa to all of my friends on base. I wish I could give a rating of 10 stars. I'm so glad I found a place that I will be able to go to on the regular basis. Always hard finding a place that you like and more importantly stylist that you trust. This is the place for both! Comfortable vibe, nice receptionist and stylist. The complementary scalp or hand massage is a treat and the stylist listen to your needs. They offer a lot more services I haven't had the time to experience but this would be the place I'd go! read more

My experiences at Studio Montage have been simply flawless. I have been there twice, once for a pre-natal massage and once for a haircut. Let me start by saying that yes, they are a little pricey, but you get what you pay for (and their prices are average for the quality of the establishment). It's not a cheapo creepo massage parlor, nor is it overly posh and snooty. It's a perfect balance of the intimacy of a local business combined with the outstanding service and indulgence of a higher end facility. The prenatal massage I received was absolutley heavenly. They provide a foot massage first and then the full massage takes place in a heated ultra comfy massage bed. All of this while in relaxingly dim room with calming music and ambient sounds in the background. My masseuse, Carol, was very friendly and exceptionally skilled. It was worth every penny and really helped relieve the pain in my calves due to the pregnancy. The haircut, was hands down the best I've had in years. Due to a couple buthcered haircuts I've received elsewhere in the past, I have a pretty strong anxiety of getting my haircut. Fortunately, I won't have to worry about that any more thanks to the staff at Studio Montage. The stylist, Haley, was very professional and friendly, and doesn't talk your ear off or seem distracted like I've run into at other salons. Above all, she actually listened to why I wanted and NAILED IT. Oh yeah, and they provide a hand massage during your haircut as well (awesome!). Bottom Line: You get what you pay for. Busy place! Came in for the 90 min massage. They have a sauna complementary and offer water.. and a changing room. The massage was wonderful and you get to pick an essential oil... also got my eyebrows waxed she did a great job of the mess I handed her. Great place to visit, very professional. read more

Love Studio Montage! I live out of town now but I still make sure I book an appointment with Sarah every time I'm in town. Amazing services, friendly staff, clean environment, and I love that I can have a tea or coffee while getting my hair done. It's in a beautiful location downtown and you feel right at home when you walk in. Not to mention, they carry Aveda product which I LOVE! Definitely a great place to go! read more

Studio Montage is a lovely place to go get pampered. I was in town visiting family. My sister-in-law wanted a massage and I was in desperate need of a haircut/style. Gayle was my beautician and cut my hair perfectly. She was professional and personable. Studio Montage offers some complimentary services, one of which was a scalp massage. I chose that and was in sublime nirvana for 3-5 minutes or so. Darby did an excellent job. She was also my shampooist--is that a word? It is now--and was very attentive. I walked out feeling like a million bucks. My sister-in-law was concerned that her makeup would get smudged while she was face down during her massage, but it didn't AND she said it was the best massage she ever received. I spend a little more to get my hair done, so I felt that I got a lot for a reasonable price point. I would recommend this place to anyone needing a little TLC or some sprucing up. read more
