Anime Figure Egg-Cellent

Anime Figure Egg-Cellent

Downtown Flushing, Flushing

I knew the whereabouts of Anime Figure Egg-Cellent from seeing someone once carrying a bag on the…read morebus plus my friend finally brought me here today after lunch. Location wise is on Roosevelt Ave inside the DongDaeMun Shopping Mall Inc which is on the same street as the 7 train. The anime store has three floors (upper floor, main level and basement). Overall, the space is clean and has narrow aisles. Fast service from friendly staff. Cash and/or credit/debit cards are accepted payment. The main floor has a variety of blind boxes, Labubu figures, flash cards, plushies, car models, posters, stationary, figurines especially merch of anime and manga characters....many which I've not heard of before. My favorites are the classic Sanrio and Cardcaptor Sakura. Hugely decent selection of Miku (girl with teal-colored hair) merchandise towards the back of the store. Basement has different kinds of figurines that I've no idea about. My friend knows most of these characters by heart because it seems to be one of her favorite stores whenever coming to the Flushing neighborhood. Flash cards have good deals but the blind boxes are more on the pricier side imo, like $3-4 more compared to other places. Next time if you're wondering what to gift your friends, you can choose to stop by here. I think there has to be something for everyone whether you're into anime or not.

Downtown Flushing, Flushing

This Marshalls location has been in the Sky View Mall of Flushing for a very long time. The shelves…read morewere rather messy and unorganized where there were clothes all over the floor back then. Decided to stop by and see what was good today. Glad I had taken a look because there were lots of great-valued goodies on sale by the clearance section. Additionally by the look of things, it seemed that they recently had a renovation of the inside of the store. The old Marshalls I had known years before no longer looked familiar to me but in a good and positive way. The skincare/makeup section is moved from the back to the side. So much easier to find products now in comparison to years ago where if you see it, you'll see it. And if you don't, well that's too bad and it's on you. More beauty brands from Sephora including K-Beauty are found in store like The Inkey List, Herbivore, Glow Recipe, Kiehl's, Summer Fridays, Laneige, Farmacy, Curlsmith, Clinique, Skinfix, Peter Thomas Roth, Glossier, First Aid Beauty, Drunk Elephant and etc. Glad to see that the Flushing location finally has a separate section just for K-Beauty alone. It's about time, Marshalls! Next, it is also more convenient to find yoga mats, yoga towels, and other sports/wellness related vitamin (gummies) in the Active section which is located right next to the beauty aisles. If you're looking for a sturdy but inexpensive yoga mat alternative, then Gaiam is the brand that got your back! Their yoga mats only retail for $15 and the yoga towels are $10 in total. The service from staff is helpful + patient + friendly + top notch. Love shopping at Marshalls from time to time. Things are pretty affordable + great value + very durable + highly recommended. Would definitely be back again next time!

Jackson Heights

A new store opened on the block, and the grand opening was on Dec. 10th. This is one of their…read morenewest store locations, since they're sprouting up like wildflowers. This store used to be a clothing store for over 20 years and the location has a basement floor (mostly for inventory storage), besides the first floor. The shop itself is of a rectangular shape, and most of the merchandise are on the first floor. They carry mostly imported goods from China and most of the inventory just screams cute, adorable, and girls will love it. So it's perfect for guys that needs a one stop shop to make their girlfriends happy (especially teenagers). I actually saw someone buying this giant bear that's almost his own height. There's a ton of stuffed animals, hair/cell/and beauty accessories, cup sets, beauty products (scents, beauty tools, make simple makeup items), stationary ... Like cute puked on their shelves and everything just makes a little girl want to buy stuff. And there's more ....... They take credit cards with no minimum. And I heard two Spanish speaking staff members (so don't worry, that's an implied requirement to do business on this block.) But you do still get the occasionally non-English speaker that only speaks Mandarin and they will call another staff to assist you. However, no refund or exchanges so shop carefully. The biggest thrill for me was finding a 10 in one pen.... it's a personal weakness. And then buying their biggest printed tote bag of cuteness for like 18cents. (A bag I didn't mind paying for and actually wanted to pay for one to take home. It does come in varies sizes, but you get to pick.) And the staff does ask you if you want a bag beforehand; So, you won't just find an extra charge you said no to afterwards, like a lot of stores are doing now since the plastic bag ban. (Yes, it's a big peeve for me with that crap, especially when I have my own bag on me) . Double win in my book lol Extra info. : This is def. a Chinese owned and operated business. They're actually opening up a lot of locations in New York (Soho, Queens Mall and Junction Blvd. (Elmhurst locations), The Mills Mall, at Jersey Garden, NJ and they're expanding even further across the country; It seems like they're trying to be the Chinese version of Japanese Muji. The inner business structure is relatively new and have not fully acclimated as a chain franchise in the US.
