Double Happy is hands-down my favorite spot for delicious, authentic Chinese food! Every dish comes out hot, fresh, and packed with incredible wok-charred flavor. Their hand-folded soup dumplings are absolute perfection thin skins, rich broth, and amazing flavor. You also can't go wrong with their crispy garlic eggplant or house fried rice. The staff is always warm, welcoming, and fast, making every visit a great experience. If you are looking for top-tier food, generous portions, and outstanding service, Double Happy never disappoints! read more

Probably would never eat from here again. Served my dad undercooked shrimp in house special fried rice previously and thought it was a one off incident. Tried them again recently and wasn't even able to get the food as apparently they just leave your food outside on a busy strip without attempting to call. Customer service is horrendous but one thing I can say is it definitely matches the quality of the food. Would advise patronizing other restaurants unless it's your ONLY choice of food then go ahead and don't starve. Hopefully the restaurant can figure out their issues on the hospitality part so it doesn't affect how bad the food quality is. read more

Double Happy - My family has been eating at this restaurant for 20 years and we are very satisfied with the food and service. - Chinese Near Me - Woodhaven, New York

This is our go to Chinese food, I think we order from here at least once every two weeks, it's always good, I feel like the people know who we are because we usually order the same, sometimes change the order but it's basically the house special fried rice, bbq boneless ribs and dumplings, we also like the mei fun, beef and broccoli is great too. read more

Cash only, people who work there (atleast the person who works the front) have an attitude like they're doing you a favor, they don't greet you, give you a total, or say thank you and just has a miserable puss on his face, without uttering 1 word to the customer, long wait for food that isn't anything special read more

It's pretty good, has decent food and decent prices, fast delivery, good size portions.

mediocre food with mediocre staff They definitely need to hire someone new to answer phones and take orders because their teenage son is insanely unprofessional. Only word he knows is "yep" read more

I have ordered from this restaurant for years even after they stopped making sushi which was prepared very well. We order in as they have few table. The food is very good and hot when it arrives within a half hour of ordering as I'm only three blocks away. All the food is expertly prepared and the only issue I have is the waste of duck, soy sauce and forks with the order. I usually ask for mustard only when I remember! I can't think of any complaint about their food whatsoever. read more

This is one of the best Chinese food restaurants in my neighborhood (in my humble opinion)... I usually get delivery, but I have been there for pick ups as well... They have about six tables, should you choose to eat there. The parking situation is metered street parking. The food is always fresh, the place is clean, and delivery is pretty quick... I would recommend this place to others... Happy Yelping :) read more

Very disappointed with the order I picked up. The lo mein/vegtables had 3 small pieces of broccoli...where is the vegtables?? The eggplant was mushy & some kind of mystery meat was in there. & I didnt order any meat. Also the food was so shinny. You need sunglasses when eating. All I know is I'm turned off by all this ..lost my appetite now.Double happy is losing me as a customer. Double disgusted. read more

The owner is nice and welcoming. The service was fast and quick.Food was good. The store is clean and spacious.

I refuse to buy food from here anymore especially the boneless spare ribs. Every time I order it it's overcooked and it's like eating beef jerky which if I wanted beef jerky I'd buy some. But this time it was so undercooked I couldn't even eat it it killed my appetite so I ordered it from Mr wonton because they know how to cook read more

Double Happy used to be delicious when they still offered sushi. The portion were incredibly generous and they had the best shrimp fried rice ever! It is unfortunate that this place has gone down hill. The shrimp fried rice no longer has pieces of eggs or vegetables in it; you may see a random shrimp in there if you look closely. -_- They get orders wrong all the time now and take sometimes over an hour to deliver. This was never the case years ago. I'm giving them 2 stars ONLY because their boneless spare ribs are still pretty decent. read more

this is the best chinese food in all of queens. the food is outstanding and the owner is great. we have been coming here for about 10 years. this pace is equal to the besr places in chinarownm read more

Best hood chinese food in town. The basic is delicious. I don't deviate from boneless spare ribs and pork fried rice. General Tso with white rice, sesame chicken, crab Rangoon, shrimp egg roll and a nice can of cold COKE are my favorite dishes. I frequently visit this place for Chinese food. This is a family business and they've been pretty consistent. read more

This is the best chinese take out restaurant on Jamaica Ave, and for the price, in my opinion it's the best in NY. I've been ordering food from here for years, and will continue to do so :) read more

Great food, if you order when kitchen is up & running big... like a Friday nite; the eggplant in garlic sauce is plain superb!

Hands down the best take out!! Living in Howard Beach there's not many places for really good take out but this place I don't mind the drive for. Their prices are worth it especially for the combination plates that comes with a soup! If you like spice go for the Kung Pao chicken it's perfect there. read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone! The food was greasy and very salty. I ordered the Shrimp and broccoli with fried rice and had to throw it out. They filled my plate with a black sauce all over the shrimp and broccoli and I couldn't even just eat the rice because it was greasy. The egg rolls are also horrible. Point blank I would not advise anyone to order from this place its a waste of money. read more

i live in bk....this place is about 15 mins away from me in queens and i have been going here for over 10 years! I am very picky with my chinese food and i luv this place!...friendly, quick service. Food is always fresh, and i dont think they have ever made a mistake with my order. I pick up or get delivery!....yes delivery all the way in brooklyn....usually takes 30-45 mins, but it is well worth the wait! the place: has a seating area, bigger than your standard chinese spot. Well lite, pretty clean. the menu: standard chinese food menu. they have seafood and sushi. portions are large size. combination dinner options available include egg roll or soda. sushi is always fresh! fried rice has egg in it, which is something many bk spots dont do. Price: lunch combination speacial $5-$6, dinner combination $6-$8, specialty dinner combos $9-$12, then they have your standard menu items like soup, fried rice, lo mein, egg foo young, chow mei and a deit special delight menu...all at standard prices $4-$12. this will continue to be MY chinese spot! read more

I came here around 3 PM today looking for a snack after my workout. After browising in th area for the cheapest Chinese food appetizers, I settled on this establishment. I went in and only one other person was waiting. I oredered 2 shrimp rolls. Thankfully it took less than 10 minutes. read more

This place used to be the bomb. A few years back, Double Happy, a local Chinese food joint in Woodhaven used to be a great place to eat from. After the father moved away from the business, the son, who loves to watch his videos on his phone took over and the business hasn't been the same ever since. The old Double Happy used to greet its customers with a smile and "hello, may I help you?" When the son is there, rarely smiles and does not greet - ever. With the old Double Happy, the food used to be great. Moist, well-prepared, delicious food that made you want more. The new Double Happy is lackluster. The food is not seasoned well and is missing pop. For example, I ordered a Sesame Chicken, spicy. When I received my order it was not spicy at all, it lacked sauce and the chicken was over cooked and hard. I thought, well everyone has an off night, a few weeks later, I ordered it again and guess what, same result. I heard similar reviews from other people who ordered from there before in the neighborhood and they said the same things. That the food has changed since the management has changed. If you are to eat from here my suggestion to you is make sure that you get what you ask for. You must be specific with them, because they will not go out of their way for you. I've decided to buy from somewhere else that you don't have to spell out food for it from them so hopefully, just hopefully, I will be able to give you a better review from a better place in this area. Thanks for reading my post. read more

At this Chinese restaurant you will get the typical Chinese food you can get anywhere else...However, there is one item on the menu which is exceptional: the shrimp fried rice. Lots of exceptionally big shrimp are included with the delicious rice compared to other restaurants that make you scavange for them. Also, they're very generous with their portions so you will get your money's worth. read more

The food good but the price for the amount of food they give you is the reason I am giving them the full 5star. The restaurant been family own by the same couple for over 20years now. Hard working family working long hours to raise their kids. read more

It's my first time ordering from here. I ordered a Sweet and Sour Chicken with white rice. The sauce tastes weird and really bad. I had the urge to throw it out! If I ever order again, this is definitely a dish that I wouldn't want again. read more

Don't order any Sushi rolls from them. I ordered one time waited a half hour and they still said it would take an hour more. Not the first time I waited on them for a long time for Sushi. Will never order from them again. read more

I went there with my boyfriend and nieces. My boyfriend knew of the place from ordering a few years ago. The woman that was at the front was ridiculously rude. I asked a question about how the tofu was prepared and she said tofu is always steamed...which isn't true for all restaurants which is why I asked but her response was incredibly rude. She looked annoyed to be working..annoyed to be asked information....she was even nasty to someone over the phone. So we walked out and ordered from another chinese food spot a few blocks up where the woman was 1000 times nicer and the food was delicious AND better priced. If you work at a place and can't deal with it than work someplace else. I don't know if this girl is related to whoever owns this restaurant but with an attitude like hers I don't see that place doing much business, which would probably explain why it was empty. read more
