Double unhappy, no egg Egg Foo Yung

I've eaten here in the past. I liked the food then, but recently ordered Egg Foo Yung and it had NO EGG, or very little egg in it. It should be close to a frittata, but this was a flour patty (see picture). Hardly any sprouts, onions or anything BUT flour. I was charged ~$22 for EGG foo yung, but was given a fake flour patty, as if I'm stupid and never had EGG foo yung before. I DO NOT like being lied to and DO NOT like dishonesty in cooking. This is UNACCEPTABLE. If you cannot afford to serve eggs, DO NOT PUT ON YOUR MENU, YOU WILL BE CALLED OUT. I am DOUBLE UNHAPPY. Ordered via Grubhub. Is THAT why you tried to deceived me?

    Szechuan beef, vegetable lo mein.

To go order. Quick service and even quicker preparation. I was there for maybe five minutes before walking out with my food (I ordered when I got to the restaurant, not earlier by phone). - Szechuan beef: very good, nice cuts of beef with no grizzle, tasty sauce. Large portion. Not in the least spicy so if you're ordering in, you might need them to kick it up. - Vegetable lo mein: also good and also a large portion. This dish was lighter than most lo meins I've had. Lots of sliced celery. Prices seem high but I say are in line with what you pay these days. As mentioned, portions are large so you get good value. Based on just these two dishes: recommended.

Number 1! First time here. Came for lunch. Egg drop soup- excellent. Mate had hot and sour soup - excellent. Entrees we're delivered promptly, Piping hot! King Poa Shrimp w/ fried rice. - Double excellent and large portions. Pork chow Mein also generous and delish. Pork fried rice spiked w/chunks of succulent pork. Full bar serves wine and cocktails. We'll be back soon to try Egg foo yung menu -four types -only place in town. Chinese new year is near. Gave us Chinese calendar as gift! We're double happy!

10/10 for us, Authentic, delicious Chinese food. Reminded me of back home in the bay area, I would recommend, i'd take friends here, and forsure be my go to spot when i want some chinese food. Was truly blown away with their authentic dumpling potstickers. Everything was so delicious, Im already craving more fried rice which is how i know it's good, back home id crave it every week! Great menu options, Good prices for the portions especially if you're sharing with friends and family!

Eh - my service experience sucked. The food was decent. The prices were moderate. Will I come back? Probably not.

Between the exceptionally good food at Hook and Plow, a most pleasant hotel experience, and a memorable trip to the High Desert Museum; our trip to Bend turned out to be a pleasure instead of the miserableness I expected. We had the Steak Tartare, the Chef's Board, the Blackend Crabcake, the Pear and Burrata Salad, and the Bone-in Pork Chop. We each got the cheesecake for desert and split the other dishes. This was more than enough for the three of us and we left full, happy, and with three large to-go boxes. The flavors of the various dishes were amazing. While all the dishes were vvery good, the standouts to me were the steak Tartare, the Pear and Burrata Salad, and the Cheesecake.

We were greeted by the host and seated quickly. We started our meal with a delicious non-alcoholic drink and the Chef's Board: a charcuterie with an assortment of cured meats, rustic bread, and various spreads. That came out pretty quickly. Unfortunately, our main courses came out much, much later and lukewarm. Luckily, the food was good enough that it made up for the temperature. I had the NY strip steak. The steak and the Boursin mashed potatoes alone were very good. The pickled onions and chimichurri complemented the meat very well. The meal was supposed to include brussel sprouts but came with a grilled broccoli cauliflower assortment instead. My wife had the Scallop Risotto which was also a great recommendation from the server. In reality, The Hook & Plow deserved 3 1/2 stars but that's not an option on Yelp. It may have been an off night for the staff, so I will give them the benefit of doubt. We would be open to trying it again sometime in the future.

At least that's what they imply with all this larger than life architecture. I had a few drinks at the bar, testing various cocktails while we waited for a seat. Then my family and I were seated by a 16 year old somewhere dark and moody with riverside views. Kinda romantic if you were on a date. The Gen Alpha waiter didn't understand humor unfortunately and probably thought we were all unc. For some reason the menu seemed to lack variety and I felt forced to pick finger food instead of gluten and or giant meaty dishes that cost 50+ ...I can't ever finish those anyways. The Hawaiian nachos were not nachos, but some poke on little tostada things with some crema on top. Kinda underwhelming for 15 dollars. They were nice but more of a sharing dish, too much fishy flavor and lack of variety for one. I wonder why the menu is so boxed in and uninspired, like can we get a bit of creativity outside of appetizers? For a place with such a powerful presence, I expected more.

My family loves to come to Anthonys for special occasions and we've always had top notch experiences until this visit. My family came here recently for my elderly father's special birthday. Our group got seated on time, but that's where the promptness ended. It took a very long time for someone to check in with us and take our drink order, no biggie as we all like each other and don't mind spending the time. Drinks came, except for my sisters wine, that came 25 minutes later. It took another very long time to get our order taken. And you guessed it, a very long time to get the food. I will add that the resto was only about 1/3 full on this particular evening, so not busy at all (this was not a Friday or Saturday night). So something was amiss for sure. 2/3 of our group ordered salads to enjoy before the main course. Only they didn't come out first. After much time, all the food came out at once (2 hours after getting seated at our reservation time). What's the point of an appetizer when it comes out with the dinner? We all had our food, except for the birthday boy. By the time dad's food came out (at least 15 minutes later), everyone else's food was cold. Errrrr. When questioning what was happening everyone was again very nice, but the answers were pretty corporate (I can sniff this stuff out pretty well). The Anthony's staff is SO nice, but there's definitely an execution/timing problem at this restaurant, at least lately. I understand that a 6 top isn't going to be a speedy execution, but this was different and we definitely weren't anticipating a 3 hour dinner - no exaggeration. They comped us desserts and 1 entree which was very kind, but I really hope Anthony's gets the service together so that we can feel good about coming back here again.

I took a moment to study the vintage photo of the original firehouse that now serves as the brick bones of the restaurant. Awesome seeing the original garage doors and recognizing where the fire trucks would have sat in waiting. They even kept the fire pole above the bar. I found myself wishing other areas of the restaurant had been designed or decorated more intentionally to honor its soulful past. It wants to be a high class spot, but something about the interior design feels underwhelming. I enjoyed the drinks I tried although the menu seems a bit unimaginative. The energy was strange, maybe it was that night, but bar staff seemed to be a bit "altered" and on edge. One was wearing what may or may not have been an intentional cologne that smelled like the overpowering essence of hot rubber mixed with cigar smoke, and leather. I ended up ordering the fresh steelhead and it was amazing. Caesar salad was lovely. And the drink of the night was called something like a White Christmas but was sort of a wintery margarita. Awesome night in the end. But I prefer the Redmond location.
