AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COSTS unless you want misdiagnosis of vehicle problems, verbal abuse and…read morephysical threats by the owner Mik, and lies about reimbursing the "audio diagnostic test" that he charged $150 for, only for me to take my vehicle to a transmission shop, and they checked the entire transmission, no codes whatsoever, and diagnosed the ACTUAL issue which was a tire arm on both sides needing replacement. Mik then agreed to reimburse the $150 diagnostic charge and do a wheel alignment (which I was actually willing to pay for, with him reimbursing the diagnostic test that completely misdiagnosed my issue. But once alignment was complete, he just wanted payment, and refused to issue the refund. When I said that was not what we agreed to prior to you doing the alignment, he said, I don't give a fu*k. Get the fuck out of my shop and I am going to put a lien on your car. Refusing to return my car key. So I suggested paying what he wanted, and coming back tomorrow to discuss the reimbursement. He continued to refuse to accept my payment, and kept yelling with other customers in the shop, get the fuck out of my shop. I'm not returning your key. Leave. I said I am not leaving without my car, just put the charge through and we can discuss the reimbursement tomorrow. He refused and threatened to physically drag me out of the shop if I didn't leave. I called the police as he was unlawfully refusing to return my key as I was standing waiting and willing to pay the bill (without the reimbursement), and he literally made me wait (after the shop closed) for 40 minutes before finally agreeing to accept payment, and follows that up with threats to "have me arrested" if I returned tomorrow for my promised reimbursement. The cops suggested reporting him to the BBB, share my experience online on various review forums... and funny enough, after scrolling other reviews on here, it seems I not the only victim to this arrogant, aggressive and threatening man who thinks a good way to run his business is through lies, intimidation and very poor mechanical service. I strongly encourage anyone thinking about using this shop to go elsewhere. Oh, and I have a voicemail from his employer stating they look forward to issuing me a reimbursement for the work that they misdiagnosed. Hats off to the worst customer experience I have ever had in my life.

On our way to Edmonton, AB I stopped at this store to see if I can rent an OBD2 scanner because my older model OBD2 scanner was outdated and was not working when connected to my vans ECM. I was greeted by a few young gentlemen over the counter and felt welcome to be in their store. I'm surprised that the folks here doesn't act like a KNOW IT ALL MASTER TECH. Anyway, the young man who help me out suggested some OBD2 scanners which are out of my budget of $60 for a simple trouble code retrieval and deletion. Well, instead of him pushing for a sale he explained to me in great details of each device and why it cost more. He also suggested a competition store across the street and stated if they don't have a cheaper device that I am always welcome to comeback to his store. Well, the other store has a cheaper version $54 and I ended up buying it and I erased the trouble code right on the spot. Thanks to the good guys at partsource, you guys are awesome!!! Not only are they sensitive to how long someone can be without a vehicle, they keep you informed during the whole process and I loved how they documented the whole process from beginning to end taking photos, then put them up on their screen in the waiting room for me to view when I pick up the vehicle. This is my one and only body shop in Calgary.

Honourable and then some…read more A month ago, we had a new alternator installed in our lovely old Lexus LS400 with over 400,000km on it. Work well done but then yesterday it appeared it had a misfiring cylinder. Took it in and came back the next day to hear what it cost to fix only to find a ZERO invoice. The explanation was that, due to the age of the car, a cable was loosened during the replacement of the alternator and later became detached causing the rough ride. Tak took responsibility, fixed the problem, apologized and charged nothing to replace the cable. He could have taken advantage but did not. Could have charged me a lot but didn't. Much appreciated. Cardinal Automotive of Calgary, you are now top of mind for car repairs.

After seeing them on-line and comparing them to several other brands and styles available I was sold on this one as it's a great product and suited my needs. I discovered that not only was Racks Unlimited an "authorized dealer" but they had them in stock so I thought I was in luck. I went down to the store and after meeting the condescending d*#K I had to deal with (not sure his name but he's the sales guy with the long hair) I should have walked away then. I paid for the iKamper and installation fee which I assumed would include them doing due-diligence of checking the specks to see if this unit was suitable for my vehicle, I was booked in the following week to have it installed. Returning for my installation appointment and I was super excited to drive away with my new unit set up for the back country! Unfortunately a couple days later I noticed the roof on my truck was visibly starting to buckle under the tent and it was clear that I had to get it off of my roof! This story is rambling on a bit so to make an already long story a bit shorter; when I came back to show them it was damaging my brand new truck. Reluctantly they allowed me to return the iKamper as they made it out as thought they were doing me a favour. Not only did they keep the price of my installation fee of $125 but they charged me an additional re-stocking fee of $530 out of my pocket! What a burn, at this point I should have probably called my lawyer. I would assume that as an "authorized dealer" they would know what they are doing and take the time to do their research to make sure the specs of my vehicle would support the iKamper they were selling me. I guess I should have done the homework myself but I assumed that these guys were "experts", unfortunately for me, they were happy to take my money and claim that they knew what they were doing but clearly a bunch of amateurs! I wouldn't recommend these guys to someone I hate! Please find another dealer and pass the word on! I normally just let things slide which is why to took me so long to write this review but anyone looking to deal with Racks Unlimited should know about my experience and spend their money elsewhere.

The first…read moretime we had purchased a Thule roof rack and bike carrier for our car over a decade ago that lasted forever with no issues. Quality is worth it! We recently sold our truck and trailer and were looking to simplify and continue camping. We were headed to Canadian Tire for a Thule carrier at a price our local bike shop was not offering...then we decided to try Racks Unlimited first because of our previous experience and we were glad we did! Thankfully Racks Unlimited had comparable pricing to Canadian Tire and far better selection, service, and advice. A Racks Unlimited customer, who was picking up some more gear for himself in the store, told us to buy the biggest carrier our vehicle could fit. So we bought the Thule Motion XXL and on our first trip we were glad we did! Then after seeing others use the Thule T2 Pro XT bike hitch on our trip we returned and bought that as well. It's hard to believe but we are able to pack all of our camping gear for 5 people and all of our bikes in our van more easily and safely than we ever could do with our truck and we are no longer paying so much for gas! I said no give me the bill so I wait for a little bit then I get the bill. The price was so outrageous we argued for quite some time, I managed to get the price down a little but still to much. The mechanics were good but the owner is a bit of a cheat. All I can say is I will never go back again.
