You could easily do all your grocery shopping here and not have to $pend the money on gas to get all the way into a bigger town. If you are passing through stop and grab a snack or cold drink, there is so much to choose from as well as hot food too!

The guy working behind the counter when I went in a couple of days ago was friendly, the restrooms were clean, and the prices on the three items that I bought were reasonable and actually on the lower end. Because of these things, I'm only docking one star for the peanut butter Twix. Yes, I bought one; I hardly ever see them. Today, I started to eat one of the bars and noticed that the cookie part was VERY crunchy -- as in, hard-as-a-rock crunchy. I checked the wrapper for a "best by" date, expecting to see some date this week or possibly even a few days ago. Instead, I noticed (much to my horror) that the "best by" date was sometime in April (four months ago). YUCK! Granted, I could have looked for the date before purchasing, but ... I generally don't think to check such things while shopping, as I'd like to think the stores are on top of keeping their items fresh. In fairness to PE Ell Country Market, they're not exactly the first store to sell past-date or close-to-date items. And of the other two items I grabbed, one is good until November, and the other -- well, I ate it yesterday and didn't check for dates; but it at least didn't taste stale, so it was (probably) fine. I definitely don't want to encourage people NOT to stop here. Just, if you feel like buying a candy bar, you might want to check the date first!

The walk-in beer cooler is accessible from both sides of the store and the selection of beer, cider, and wine was extraordinary! They had a variety of local and non-local, and all price points so you definitely have options depending on your mood. There were a ton of produce and fresh food options that I saw as well, even though we didn't purchase anything from those. I never caught the cashier's name, but she was a shorter, dark haired lady and was so so nice! She talked to me about my wine option and reassured my choice was a good one! I appreciate having an occasional glass of wine, and expect that it's difficult to find a quality wine selection in a small town that probably depends very heavily upon the tourist trade. Frankly, most towns known for heavy tourist traffic usually don't do well when it comes to what they stock in wines -- they usually aren't that impressive. I was truly shocked to see an excellent selection of highly-rated wines, especially for domestic Cabernet Sauvignon. If you enjoy having an excellent wine, this is the place to find it.

Cute, as expected decor and some random touristy things. A very basic selection of food and some fresh produce, which given the setting did not look bad at all (honestly, giving Safeway a run for their quality money) And the best part - the staff. You can tell their og to the area and proud of it. I love that! I'm the owner of Bigelow transport and we have several trucks going up and down the highway. I stopped with my truck. I pulled up far enough to where I wasn't blocking her parking lot. The space is out in front of the store and I left enough room in front of the truck so I was not blocking the entrance to the post office or her parking was nobody in the parking spaces. It's raining I walked in whomever the lady was asked me if that was your truck out front and I said yes it is and she says you're blocking my parking spaces and she started to tell me how I needed to move the truck because I was blocking her parking spaces and I was blocking the whole parking lot again. I've been doing this for years. I didn't block anything I didn't block the front of the store. I didn't block her parking spaces and I find it very rude and disrespectful to a customer who is just coming in the store for maybe the second time in 10 years wanting to buy something in the store was nobody around there was two customers inside as well. The lady was so rude and disrespectful towards me that I left the store. Her allegations were false. There was absolutely no merit to what she said. I find it completely and totally unacceptable if she's the owner shame on her if she's an employee, she needs to be fired.

So we obviously went back. Found it was a simple checker mistake. We got charged for about 15 bunches. Actual cost $1.99 They refunded our money and gave us the Green Onions for free.
