Bad,. A creole cajun dish with -0- Taste -0- spice, dry. The owner seems nice. Just not worth the $$$ in this difficult economic time.

My family went there tonight and the food was terrible. Undercooked and had no flavor. The service and ambiance were great!

Decided to try a new place for fish fry tonight…read more To be fair it was really busy. However, the service was not very good. After sitting for a bit we got drinks at the bar, and the bartender gave us some menus and took our order. Later this caused some confusion when we had to pay our tab. When it finally arrived, the breaded Walleye (offered twice a month) was quite good. Although we were not provided tartar sauce, a neighboring table kindly loaned us theirs. The fish was served in a basket with waxed paper lining and it was virtually impossible not to get a mouthful of paper while cutting the breaded fish or baked potato. As a result, we both had a little extra 'fiber' with our meal. The rest of the food was OK, but nothing special. While we don't really expect much in terms of 'ambience' from a bar fish fry, it was incredibly noisy (due in part to the pool table in the middle of the dining area), and we also were not expecting to be looking directly into a messy toilet/bathroom during our meal. (Picture of our 'view' is attached) So, overall not great - despite some very tasty fish.

A good spot for a sandwich and a few cold ones. There is a…read morereasonable selection of draft beer from cheap lawn mower beer to an import and local small brewery. Prices are good and there are daily lunch plus evening food specials. The bar staff is friendly, attentive and good at what they do. The food is really quite good with fresh burger and crinkle cut fries. My favorites. R-Bar is definitely on my list of regular joints to stop at for a quick sandwich and a couple of beers. Cheers!

We went on a weekday night and it was a fun, lovely atmosphere. They are known for martinis and my…read moreraspberry lemon martini was delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly as well and our server was knowledgeable and accommodating! The mushroom rice side was spectacular! My only concern was one guest at the bar was loud and using foul language. I was there with my mom and that did make the outing awkward. The bartender did his best to control and outburst and swear words as he was watching soccer but word of warning for those with younger guests.

My wife and I ventured out to Mount Horeb for dinner at Driftless Social on a Saturday night…read morerecently. We had a reservation, which I would recommend, and were seated immediately. The restaurant is fairly small, but cozy. The ambiance is very relaxed and social. It was a bit noisy but a good noisy, not obnoxious noisy; people having good conversations and lots of laughing. Our server greeted us in a timely manner and took our drink order. I ordered an old fashioned, my wife a Hugo spritz. Both were fantastic but just a heads up, the drinks were relatively strong. The menu is relatively small but still enough to choose from and not be disappointed. My wife and I both ordered the 5 oz filet with shrimp. We split a side of green beans. When our food reached our table, we thought that it might not be enough to fill us but we were more than full afterwards and agreed that anything bigger might be too much. The food was excellent, one of the better steaks I've had in a while. The service was good and our server, Sammy, did a real nice job of taking care of us without being overly intrusive. Prices were appropriate for the quality, maybe a little higher than you would expect but still worth it. If you're looking for a high quality, local small town steak experience that isn't a chain, I highly recommend Driftless Social.
