First time here…read more Food: We were excited to try some Somali/African cuisine. For beverages, we ordered the chai tea and the mango smoothie. I was expecting a plain chai tea, but what I received was actually a chai latte. What a wonderful surprise! It wasn't the type of chai latte I might expect from a local coffee shop, but it was better than many I've had. We started with a couple of veggie sambusas. They were excellent. Hot, crisp, and fresh, with a generous filling and served with a side of mint chutney. Together, they made a fantastic flavor combination. We also ordered hummus and pita bread. Both were fresh, tasty, and well presented. The final part of our meal was the Goat Platter. It arrived hot and fresh, with generous portions. The goat meat was delicious and tender. The serving was large enough that I took half home, and it will make great leftovers. Service: The gentleman at the counter was friendly and efficient. He was very attentive, bringing each item to our table. He seemed genuinely proud of the food, its presentation, and our reaction to it. There was also a woman in the back, whom I believe was doing most of the cooking, and I had a chance to thank her as well. Atmosphere: The restaurant is small and unassuming. It was clean and well lit, thanks to the large front windows. It appears that most of their business is takeout, but there are several tables available for dining in. We were the only people eating there during our visit, so it was very quiet. Overall: We were super impressed with this little spot serving excellent Somali/African food. The quality of the food, the warm service, and the generous portions made for a wonderful first experience. We'll definitely be back.

I've been coming here for decades. I love the family who runs this restaurant and the amazing food…read morethey have. Back in the day, there was fresh roasted coffee on Saturday evenings, but the food is still fantastic. We sat at a table this time, I prefer the 'pedestal' personally. If you're feeling a little adventurous just do it. It can be intimidating to not have utensils- you just tear off a piece of the Injera (like sourdough crepe) and pick up what you want to eat. Not everything is spicy- but some is, so if you're not up for spice, be careful. There are lots of vegan options and it's ok to call the waitstaff over (he doesn't like to interrupt).

Upon entry, we were amazed by the ambiance and vibes of the place. There were traditional Ethipoian art works and decors hung on the walls which were absolutely beautiful. It was our first time trying Ethiopian so we were confused, however the staff were extremely helpful and gave us great recommendations. For a group of 5, we got the vegetarian combo and it came on a large platter on top of injera bread. Every single Wat was spiced to perfection and it surprisingly reminded me of Indian food. The injera was soft and delicious and was a perfect pairing with each Wat. The food was satisfying and the flavors were warm and homey. This restaurant will definitely be getting multiple visits from us in the future!

The food was ready when it was supposed to be, the place was dead when I got there but maybe they do more to go type of orders but they have some tables for dine in. I don't' think they have table service so you would order at the counter and sit. Online, it wasn't clear if rice came with the curry, which it always does but because they listed rice as an add on I thought I better get some because what if there was not rice?! Welp...ended up with a lot of rice lol. So from what I could tell the rice is included so we had a lot extra. That would normally be great BUT the rice has no seasoning. That is an important element to the meal and I was disappointed to have 3 containers of plain white rice on my hands. The naan was huge and flavorful. I made several meals out of the food we received and it was good, just not stand out excellent with the rice lacking flavor. I'd probably try other things there in the future.
