I work nearby, and often pop in on my way home from work. It's always been pretty average, however my last couple of visits have been terrible.
I wanted to return something so I went to the desk upstairs, which was empty, but as there were tons of staff I didn't think I'd be waiting long. I stood there for a good 5 or 6 minutes before anyone even came near the till. Twice a member of staff walked up, fiddled with something, gave me eye contact, then walled away. Twice. I waited another couple of minutes and then a lady came over and informed me they don't refunds on that till, I need to go to the till on the other side of the shop.
Fair enough, but what I don't understand is how two members of staff chose to completely ignore me. What did they think I was standing at the till for??
I have worked in retail before, I know what it's like, but as a customer I really feel as though I am bothering them by asking for assistance!
My previous experience to this I was served by a lady who managed to put through a whole transaction without speaking or giving me any eye contact at all.
They have some nice clothes, but the staff suck. Surely there are other people out there who would appreciate a job more. read more
