The NonProfit Center - State-of-the-art Conference Center

The NonProfit Center

Leather District, Waterfront, South Boston

I love the Nonprofit Center!…read more It's T accessible - right near south station. In addition to being the office of over 40 nonprofits, it also has meeting space available for other nonprofits to use (you do not have to be a tenant). I've been to meeting here sponsored by Tech Networks of Boston, Women in Development (fundraising), The Communications Network, Public Relations Society of America, and Third Sector New England. The event space is great, but my one warning is to triple check the microphones with the nonprofit center events staff if you have speakers. About half the times I've been to events there, audio problems occurred, so I always sit in the front to be sure I can hear. I'm jealous of the employees of the nonprofits in this building! What a lovely place to work!

I researched every venue I could find, over 55 in total. We couldn't afford to spend thousands of dollars, and time was running out - as were my options. Then I came across The NonProfit Center - after my initial inquiry I was contacted by Faisal and literally everything was smooth sailing from there! I took a look at the space and it was perfect, they were available the date I needed, and the price was right. Faisal answered all of my (many) questions and kept in touch to make sure there was nothing else I needed. Next time I will save myself the run-around and go here first - can't say enough good things, we had a wonderful experience!

You can see the water before you even walk in, and it definitely sets the vibe, so soothing! The restaurant itself is tucked down a long mirrored corridor which I absolutely used for photo ops because why not? They also have a function hall, so there was a lot of movement as there was an event going on. It took about 5-7 minutes for someone to greet us at the host stand, which felt a bit long but no big deal. Once seated (we did request a table with a view), the sunset over the water was absolutely beautiful. It really made the night feel special. I started with a Guava cocktail and was genuinely surprised by how good it was as it actually tasted like guava which is a rare find! I had the Chicken Parm, and it was so well done. It was perfectly breaded, just the right amount of crunch, and really flavorful. I left no crumbs. Since we were a big group, we each got different desserts and tried everything on the menu, which made dessert a fun, shareable experience. The tiramisu and the coconut cake were my personal favorites. Our server was friendly and mostly attentive throughout the night, though it was a little tough to get his attention toward the end as the staff seemed more focused on cleaning and wrapping up for closing. The bathroom was clean though the sink was filled with dead fruit flies (they were around the restaurant too). Would definitely go back, especially for a special night or dinner with a view.
