Great fresh food! I had the fried shrimp PoBoy and it was amazing! Shrimp was fresh and fried perfectly.

the service was so inconsistent!!! servers sat us at the bar area with a family and children, we all ordered and some adults got drinks. we then were told by management that we had to leave or they'd call the cops because we had children in the "bar" area. while there were other tables with younger children. so inconsiderate and just rude. never eating here again!!!!! read more

Love this place. Great location-under the Surfside Bridge. My daughter brought us here mid afternoon to sit on the back deck for drinks and snacks. All was great. The Calamari is absolutely the best I have ever had in Brazoria county. The Shrimp Poppers and the Boudin Balls are both great too. Our second trip here was just me and my husband for lunch. Have had a few things here, oyster Rockefeller needs to be cooked in a chimichurry sauce though, not sure what they used and the oysters were raw (was still good though) Burger was a mess if you try to cut it in half and try to share it, still good but not quite what we expected. Could have been much better. We went here twice during the more serious times of covid. They were not covid responsible. Hence, not concerned about themselves or the customers. Even though it has been a few weeks since going here, all I can think about is how heavy the seasoning was. So much so, why include the seafood? You could not tasted it. The view is fantastic and that's about where the good stops. It's 90* outside and it was cooler outside than in. It took an hour and 45 mins for our food to arrive and it was only 2 plates. I have to say I was very disappointed by the food we received last night. The poor girl who served us was trying so hard but it was obvious that she hadn't gotten much if any training and although there were several others working the upstairs at the same time and weren't all that busy it didn't appear there was much interest in helping her out. It took awhile to get the food but it was around 6 on a Saturday night on a holiday so that didn't bother us at all. But when the food came and my plate only had the fish and 3 shrimp which were almost warm but far from hot and the shrimp was so over cooked it was chewy... no Cole slaw, no cocktail sauce, no tarter sauce, no lemon only three small shrimp and a piece of fish. The fish tacos were next to cold as were the poor boys but the fries were nice and hot!! The burger my grandsons said was watery, like too much sauce and no flavor. If this has been our first time there we would not return but we go there all the time and I always get the fish and shrimp and it's always been good and hot. Not last night. I don't blame our waitress because I honestly think she was trying. Management could and should do a better job of making sure she knows what is expected of her. We sail to Freeport often so need a place within walking distance. We were used to going to the same place until they disappointed us on a couple of visits. We decided to try Dorado's and so glad we did! The atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. Staff was friendly. Shorter walk from Surfside Marina so late night drink/walks are not dangerous . They make one of the best hamburgers on the island and the seafood is always good. Very disappointed. We had been here previously and everything was amazing. Sad to say things have changed. The mushroom appetizer was great. No plates to eat them on. Service was slow. We could not decide what to eat so we shared two plates the server recommended: Fish/shrimp tacos & Dorado Grilled Shrimp. For appetizer we had the Shrimp Jammers and it was delicious too; the jammer sauce amazing! We were able to sit on the back patio and watch the boats on the Coastal Waterway. I'm so addicted to this place. Whenever I visit surfside I have to stop here. I love their food, the environment and the staff. A great local haunt. They have a full bar with generous cocktails.
