Located right across from Esther Short Park, I stop in after shopping at the Farmer's Market. They have some cute clothing, but the store is so small, I find it hard to make my way around. Most of the clothing is on the top level, and since I'm recovering from surgery, I couldn't make it up the steps. Lots of jeans, sweaters, layering pieces, shackets (sweater jacket) but not many in each size. Without a proper dressing room, I was hesitant to buy anything because they only give store credit. D3o3nding on an item's style, I wear a spectrum of sizes so need to try everything on. Other than clothing, they have candles, many with funny names, small selection of shoes, hats, handbags and fashion jewelry Which make great gifts. Stopped in after the Farmers Market as it is right nearby and thought this boutique was super cute! They have a cute selection of both women and some men's clothing. Pricing is pretty good too, overall quite reasonable. Staff was pleasant. read more

I have been to this cute little store many times and I like the collection here ! First of all the location is great and its a short walk from the waterfront or the downtown stores . The collection is good and well displayed. Not so much diversity in sizes though ,and its hard finding something that you like in your size. The other challenge is the lack of a proper dressing room ,and the alternative would be to buy and try at home but they do have a no refund policy and only give store credit. I understand that from a small business standpoint but to me as a customer that seems inconvenient. The staff is sweet and helpful . read more

Super cute place, downtown right next to Esther Short Park. Went in mid Sunday after the farmers' market and was met by Terri the owner. Awesome lady with an incredible selection of merch. The Silver jeans she had were a ton cheaper than I have seen anywhere else. She also had a bunch of Miss Me jeans on clearance. I wish they had my size left. I have been shopping at Doppelgänger since it first opened. The owner does a great job at picking out merchandise that is in style, and seasonal. Prices are very reasonable compared to other boutiques in town. Every staff member I have worked with is super nice and welcoming. If I ever need help finding a specific item they are always more than happy to help (and give the best suggestions) Whenever I come in here I can't leave without buying something! I like this shop! The salespeople are the right mix of helpful but not pushy. They can help you find what you're looking for. They always have good finds on the sales rack too. Good selection of men's jeans and women's sweaters in particular, as well as basic tanks. I wish they had a bigger space, but I always enjoy coming in here. read more

I've shopped here before and it was a nice experience but today I went in the store in search for a Fedora hat and I had my service dog with me. A older woman asked me what I was looking for with a rude tone, when I asked her if she had any Fedora hats, she looked at her employees confused saying "she wants a man's hat?!", then ignored me and went to help another customer. Went in the other day and purchased a top. 2 days later I returned with the original receipt, merchandise still in the original bag, and of course tags in tact. I explained that I had changed my mind about the top as it didn't fit me as well as I would like, and I kindly asked for a refund. I was told they will only offer me store credit, to which I explained I live out of the country and as such store credit won't be much use to me. I added that unless they've had a restock in the last 48 hours, I couldn't use a credit to exchange for something else as I had just been at the store a few days before and there was nothing else I'd like to exchange it for. So, given the unusual circumstances of me being a visitor from across the pond, I kindly inquired whether they could please exercise some discretion and understanding, and please accept my return and refund my purchase, just this once. I was flatly told "no". The store owner gave me some kind of excuse along the lines of "the merchant services aren't even set up for returns", not even cash, and she added that the return policy is in "several" places throughout the store (whilst gesturing to some obscure part of the counter where a small sign explaining the return policy was taped). Baffled at the lack of options, I reiterated the situation with the hope that my circumstances might pluck at some empathy and understanding with the owner, but clearly this was in vain. I don't normally write reviews, and when I do it's usually to celebrate stand-out service or product, but the attitude and lack of flexibility I got from the owner of this store was so poor that it deserves to be called out. American customer service is often heralded as the best in the world but what I experienced from the owner was far from it, and majorly disappointing. It leaves a stain on downtown Vancouver which thankfully for locals is developing and improving exponentially! This is one store that has clearly missed the memo. I'm originally from the Vancouver / Portland area and can thankfully say most people and stores around here have exceptional customer service, but I definitely won't be returning here again, and I'll be sure to steer any friends or family who are thinking of shopping at doppelgänger well away. But then again, maybe that won't be needed because with the current owner's attitude and the climate in downtown, this store will likely have an expiration date somewhere in the near future... read more

I came in with my cousin today holding fresh flowers from the market. As soon as I showed interest in trying something on, the two associatws quickly brought out vases to hold our flowers as we shopped. They gave us space to shop and make decisions and also made sure I saw pieces in all colors/styles. The customer service is excellent and the workers are very personable! Very fashionable clothes, shoes and accessories!

I only give it a two star because I did have a good experience with other sale clerks. However, the owner is very rude and unprofessional. She was actually upset because I returned something even though it was the very next day I returned it. The item still had the tag on it, was never worn, and I had the receipt. Their return policy is 7 days. I only took the item home to begin with because one of her staff members highly encouraged me to do so. Sometimes you don't know if you will fully like something unless you try it with other pieces you have at home. So, that's why I finally purchased it. I found out from a source that she has been rude like this before and does not like getting returns. Well, get over it lady. That's part of owning a business and I did everything appropriately with the return. I've bought other items from her in the past and never returned them, but I have not and will not return to her store again. She may appear nice on the surface, but she wasn't afraid to show her dismay, more like attitude, when she wasn't happy even when unjustified. So unprofessional. read more

Strolled in to this shop this am , my daughter wanted try on a dress that was out of reach and the owner seemed very put out helping us and getting the dress down. She was pretty grumpy the whole time we were in there so we decided NOT to purchase dress because of her attitude! Sad she is in customer service industry. read more
