Not only that but I call 3 to four times every week before I get a call back. I am hoping that something happens soon, but I am ready to call my credit card and ask for my money back. So called on the 24th of August, after two promises of delivery, and asked for Chris. It went to voice mail, so I called back. I told them that I was contemplating calling my credit card and cancelling the order, so I got a call back from Chris, guaranteeing that they would have the windows in by September 1, 2023. So I did call my credit card company and told them the story. If the windows are in and installed in a reasonable manner I may up my review hopefully to a four. Stay tuned for an update.

Now two and a half years later when the seal between the outside and middle panes on a three pane window is gone, they want to charge for the labor to install a replacement. Up front, we were told the warranty included everything, windows and service, but now it seems the service warranty was only for two years. How convenient. A year later we needed two more windows replaced. I called them and they sent out the older gentleman who seemed knowledgeable and informative but we never did get a quote from them. In the following weeks I called several times asking for the quote but no one ever responded. Right now I'm glad they didn't as I would be worrying about what it would cost if two more of their windows were to have problems. As others have mentioned, Chris is the company's worst enemy. She is rude, gets triggered by the simplest of questions, and never returns calls left on her voicemail. I can only think that she is an owner otherwise any company with commonsense management would have got rid of her long ago. All I can say is avoid this company, there are several better options in Edmonton and area.

It doesn't help that the water outlets are on that side, too, and we had to install an electrical upgrade that ran all down that side and is attached to the parging at intervals. Too many ways for water to get in behind there, and things started looking pretty rough. We knew we were due for some parging updates in other parts of the house, too, after 27 years from the original. We had a quote from another vendor that was quite a bit cheaper, but what we heard about how they planned to deal with the long wall situation basically sounded like a cosmetic coverup and not really a fix. I remembered that our neighbour had used J and J years ago before selling their home, and their work still looked great there. J and J gave us an estimate that was within our guesstimate frame, told us in detail about how they would fix the wall, showed up reliably, and completed the work in a much faster time frame than I would have thought. Multiple people were on the job the first day, and they had to come back a second day to follow up on finishing the beastly wall, and were delayed by some serious rain, but there was no worry waiting because the site was already weather safe, with the follow up work being mostly cosmetic. The outcome has been very satisfying after years of seeing things slowly crumble. I enjoy being out in the garden without having to try and not look at certain places. In short, it looks seamless and took years off the curb appeal of our home. These folks really are the experts at this in Edmonton, and I would highly recommend them and definitely use them again.

The guys who pulled off the old siding recommended J & J for parging the area. Jeff and his helper did a great job, and they were super fast! I had a lot of criteria for my new door to meet - good quality, aesthetically pleasing, mid-century/contemporary design, affordable. HERR was the obvious choice after exhausting the list of local suppliers. Randy was great to work with and provided many options to suit my needs at various price points to be sure I got exactly what I wanted. The level of service was exceptional and something I did not find anywhere else. Other businesses seemed to cater more towards contractors and big business, not willing to take the time to explain products or procedures to a home owner. I felt confident and at ease with my purchase after visiting the HERR showroom. Picking out a new front door was the fun part, but Randy and is crew also did an impeccable job on the installation. Having been built in the 50's the original door was not a normal size in any dimension by modern standards. We opted to replace the door and jamb with a standard size (though custom sizing was available) and I was nervous about how the new smaller door might look/function. Randy and his crew did such a great job with the new jamb and trim that you would never know that the door size had been changed. The crew was polite and kept the job site very tidy. They spent extra time ensuring that everything was installed to perfection...no rush jobs here. From start to finish this company was a pleasure to work with!
