Horrible experience staying at this place. Everything from the 2020 review by Elisbeth is still true in July 2025. I did not book this place, a family member did. However if I would have seen these reviews, I would have backed out. There are ants and spiders everywhere. We spent $150 on sheets and pillows because their provided sheets are so dingy and smelly. The mattresses are probably 30+ years old. I checked for bedbugs and thank god, I don't think we got any while staying. There is mouse feces in the room downstairs. Everywhere smells like mold. The floors and place have not been cleaned probably in the last 6 months to a year. There is 2MB internet service, if you're lucky and no Verizon reception. Very poorly maintained and the oven didn't work. Cabin was not cleaned before we checked in so we had to do that ourselves. The owner does not seem to care about anything but making money on these run down cottages. There are many much nicer options in Door County for less. read more

This place is a hidden gem! I almost don't want to write a review because I want to keep this a secret, but I just had to put up a little something. After hours of searching for a cabin or cottage all over the US with all the specifications that we were looking for, I found this website - www.doorcountycottages.com - and found this beautiful place. We ended up staying for four nights in the Fieldstone cottage. When we finally got here, we were pleasantly surprised by all the little details that they paid attention to. There were logs and newspaper set in the fireplace ready to be lit. There was charcoal, logs and matches in the little nook. There's all sorts of kitchen appliances and dishes. We truly only needed to bring consumables! A coffeemaker AND filters! They advertise that they have a whirlpool tub, but they didn't mention it was a DOUBLE whirlpool! Even though they mentioned that the jets on it and the internet sometimes needed to be reset, we had no issues with either. There are only a couple of things that I would change - there was a bit of a leak under the kitchen sink, The bed linens were kinda scratchy and the bed itself wasn't very comfortable. The mirror lights in the bathroom are likely to cause seizures, but luckily there's a few other lights in there that will keep you from having to use the mirror ones. We loved this place overall and would definitely come back again. Just make your reservation early! It fills up fast. read more

Old pillows, extremely uncomfortable mattress, terrible Internet (if any), carpenter ants crawling on you if you sit still in the cottage, mice, cobwebs throughout and mouse droppings in the kitchen. So uncomfortable we left a day early. The oven was too dirty to imagine putting our food in. The whole property is run down. The dumpster area is a disaster. Way over-priced. read more

Love this location! Just far enough away that it is so very private, but close enough to get to the action in minutes! Animal friendly...my dog loves it too! Very comfortable and such a relaxed getaway! Will be back...likely regularly!!!!! read more
