    Cheese!
    Ann L.

We stopped in looking for some locally made cheese and were not disappointed. They have a large selection of their own cheeses as well as cheese made elsewhere. It was hard to decide and I honestly forget now what we ended up selecting, but it was delicious and went well with the local beers also on sale here by the bottle for $2 each. They also had a nice selection of charcuterie. Somehow we missed that they do tastings and tours. We were there early in the season, so maybe this gets rolling once more tourists arrive. In any case, this is a great place to pick up some fabulous cheese!

Lovely premium cheese store in Door County which has a huge cheese and wine selection, offers free cheese and wine tastings and also a quick 15 min cheese factory tour downstairs.. They are truly the cheese champions and you can taste the flavors in every bite.. Their Valmy is a personal favourite along with the pepper jack and we also loved their mushroom brie.. Their cheese is slightly on the expensive side and we paid a lot more here as compared to another renowned cheese store near by but I am not complaining cos it was delicious unique cheese flavors.. We spent more than an hour tasting and picking cheese and wine for our group.. their cheese curds were nice and fresh too.. Will go back again to get their Valmy for sure..

Zomg! Cheese! A cheese cave! While I was sampling, I asked about the cave and luckily got to go right into a tour with the master cheesemaker, aka, my new bff. He showed us the goods and answered all our questions about cheese making and what rinds could/should be eaten and so forth (spoiler: rinds are actually just the cheese but dried out and often with a wash of some sort so generally eat it up!). A very down to earth Wisconsonian! Well suited and trained for this cheesy job. After the tour he helped us to pick out 3 cheeses for a plate and also suggested some cured meats that would compliment them and got us samples. I have never bought a more beautifully or carefully wrapped deli meat selection! If I was having some sort of awesome cocktail party and I wanted a charcuterie board, I'd stop in to see the folks here to help me plan, or better yet, just invite them to party and hope they bring their awesome handmade cheeses, etc... They sell nice wines and liquor too but I always bmob (bring my own booze) so didn't need that aspect of their services. Stop in even though it seems touristy; so worth it! Be a tourist in the beautiful, stinky land of cheese and eat your way back out to the real world a happier and more chees-ucated human.

Jim was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He introduced several cheeses we would not have chosen if we had not tasted.

My husband and I shared: - Loaded Cheese Curds - French Onion Melt - Hot Honey Chicken Mac And Cheese - Strawberry Basil Lemonade Everything was fantastic. The cheese curds were the best we had while in Wisconsin. The flavor of the French Onion melt was so good. I loved the hot honey addition to the mac and cheese. We bought a ton of their cheese too and it was fantastic. They have so many other great goodies too. If I lived nearby, I would be here all the time. This is a must stop in Door County!

They had a wide range of cheeses and oils out for sampling, and the staff was friendly and walked us through the different varieties. One of them had us try a cheese dip with ghost peppers, which was hands down our favorite, creamy up front with a slow burn that built after. We picked up some cheddar, a tub of that dip, and a few beers for the road. We also grabbed food from the in-store café: a grilled French onion sandwich, tomato basil soup, and cheese curds. The sandwich and soup were the standouts. The curds were fresh and squeaky. We finished with their ice cream, which held up to everything else we'd eaten. The prices were low enough that the whole stop felt like a steal. A must-visit when you're in Sturgeon Bay.

I had been once before, but my in-laws were visiting from England and we just had to take them here. They agreed that it was the classic, small town, American market. We all loved our visit. It's quite big inside and very open/spacious to move around. Beyond their famous cherry pies, jams, and butters, you'll find their fresh produce, local cheeses (yumm), and a unique selection of artisan goods (I'm obsessed). Also if you're an apple lover, you'll have come to the right place. They were sampling their fresh picked options, and we of course left with a big bag to take home. Also, all things fall-esque like cider donuts, pumpkin pancake mix, and unique fudge. Oh anddd they have this great little outdoor section for kiddos, equip with a swing set, big sandbox, handful of rideable bikes/cars, and a cute little rope maze in the woods. My son loved exploring. With seasonal activities like cherry-picking, it's a perfect spot to savor the region's flavors and enjoy a classic Midwest farm experience!

Great selections and great customer service. Love them both though as he mentioned the 20 years is a strong taste good in small doses.
