Our boy ended up getting stitches and has to wait another week to get them out. I know sometimes there are balls and stuff but never had anything like that happen. Obviously this dog was aggressive with toys. If you have a dog like that stay home! Dr. Ott has had this park for years and there has never been any incidents that I know of and hopefully won't again. He opened this park so dogs could play along with others and have room to run, l am hesitant for my husband to bring him back there but I know he will because our dog begs to go to the park.

And I'm not sure if the dog park is called Dr Ott's because it's just what the doctor ordered or that was the guy that donated the land? Either way, my hat is off to him. It has an incredible walking path that goes all the way around the interior of the fence line and I'm sure if you walked around it three or four times it would be at least a mile. There are multiple trash cans all over the place as well as poop bag dispensers hidden every here and there you just got to look for one. There are plenty of watering stations as well as big tubs for the dogs to get in and cool themselves off!! There are multiple seating areas around the walk and some of them have a nice structure built over them. There are also tree swings that are actually hung from trees and benches and picnic tables and everything else dispersed every here in there around the park. They even have an American flag on a pole right in the center of the park!! You don't see that very often and you also don't see poop on the ground very often in this park? There is plenty of parking right next to the dog park and there are plenty of old growth trees and bushes and shrubs and everything else for your dog to explore and look through. The only thing it doesn't have other than poop on the ground is some kind of lake or river Creek,, otherwise it would definitely be a 5 plus Star Park

Being a dog lover, you're probably put off a bit about my less than affectionate feelings towards said parks. Usually it's the Starbuckies sippers who aren't paying attention to their dogs that turn me off, but I'm past that, life is good here in Florida and tricky in NYC as are the dog parks. They're all beaten up and more cuts coming to the parks budget. I envision doggie Disneylands with trail side museums of famous dogs, dog friendly bars (for people), sonic trails and when I make my millions, I just might.. At just over four acres of sandy dirt the property is all fenced in with an area for older dogs and smaller dogs. This is where I incorrectly entered and a nice young family observed big long haired guy with two spikes collard Lion Hunters (Rhodesian Ridgebacks title, they did and do still hunt lions) entering, they flip boogied out and I'm like "where are the dogs - where are the people"? Realizing my foopaa, I exited and reentered rightly. Folks here do watch their dogs and I keep touching on this point because I've seen and broken up a lot of dog fights. One Sunday I wasn't around and I was informed that one dog attacked another and punctured his jugular. My friend Colette the nurse was there and patched the pup up then they took him to the veterinarian and was saved. Dogs can do a little of damage in a very short period of time, so two large breeds can team up and do far worse. Getting back to the park, there's benches and wash stations, dog bowls, pick up bags and nice paved walking areas that egress around parts if you desire to avoid the sand. I'll never be a big fan of dog parks, I keep to myself and keep to my dogs but this park is a good one that I do recommend.

Most owners are okay but there are plenty who don't watch their dog or blame other dogs for doing nothing wrong. There are many different breeds and mixes that you can see here. Anything from Danes to greyhounds and pits and poodles. Old and young alike come here often. Owned and maintained by the county, the grass gets treated for fleas. I love coming here. There is a small dog section and a large dog section, but you are in no way confined to those. I have seen tiny dogs in the big dog section. Will update with pictures. It's the day after the hurricane so it's a hot mess here right now.

It is a wide open field with agility obstacles, hills, sitting area. I'm sure the grass could've been tended to more. I'm not sure how the water fountain worked, every one seemed to have known, but there are two large dog bowls owners periodically would fill up instead of letting the dogs drink out the fountain. There is dog poop bags provided at posts throughout the park, but the only trash cans I spotted were at the entrance (so it's a long walk with poop in hand). Be careful where you walk. I saw owners picking up poop, but there is still enough poop to warn you of your step while there. The was a water fountain at the entrance as well, too. There is a covered concrete portion with seats. It was posted that on Wednesday's the park is closed sunrise to noon for maintenance. I brought my own ball thinking there wouldn't be any as this was my first time at this dog park, but there were plenty. An owner told me someone brought a large bin of new tennis balls for Christmas/New Year's. It's a very large park, so it's easy to lose sight of your dog At first, a pit was being aggressively dominant with Baloo and no one even paid attention to their dog but after a while I step in and corrected the dog for its behavior. Later saw that it was a woman too busy in conversation. Overall cool dog park, love that it's close by. Will probably go back for a last minute dog park day.

I played college baseball and I started out in my backyard hitting balls off a Brooklyn Union Gas cone, by myself with a Louisville Slugger that was bigger than me. I could barely get it off my shoulder but I wanted a professional baseball bat so badly and Santa came thru. This park has lots of grass so the large breeds can really open up and tear arse up and down, left and right and back again. Because you see, with grass they gain traction and dogs are less likely to dig holes which could cause a leg break. But let's destroy the parks of largest the loves that some families have and live to dictate our pleasures by their lives by their noise machines that are far too young to be playing this type of game. Awwww, how cuuuuute.. They can point to first base if little Johnny makes contact because little Johnny has no idea which way to run and will likely disobey and run towards third base anyway and I suppose that's good for more laughs whilst I cringe and steam. It's so cute for these follies to play out every weekend for two hours to a nail biting, exciting and riveting zero zero tie -- for the entire season. Two hours a week to take half the park? Nice planning necks.

There is more than enough room for your dog to get a good run going no matter how big it is. It seems like a pretty mellow and calm crowd! It's not a huge park, but there is plenty of room for dogs to play around. There is a smaller section for "small dogs" and then a larger section for "large dogs". You can bring your own dog toys (which I usually do) but there are plenty of balls, frisbees and toys here. They also have a small obstacle course for the dogs and some small "hills". There is also a water station to wash your dog off and/or to provide drinking water; I usually bring my own water for my dog. There are a few benches scattered about the park and some trees for shade.
