My black friends and I have been coming here for years because it was one of a few bars we feel comfortable in around the area. I was in the night that these other reviewers, Danielle and Veronica, are talking about and they did not come in with "black" friends. They were childish and acting a fool and only used two other black people there who were both drunk and being harassing to patrons as their way to attack the bar. They kept assaulting the handicapped bartender until he told them to leave. I complained about the black man who kept harassing me and the black woman who threw up by us to have them removed it was only after that that these two white girls tried using the race card. Way to use your white privilege ladies to try and excuse your poor behavior. You've got no right to speak for the fine black folks who LIVE here and have found a place we enjoy.

My husband got home and they sent a burger with bbq sauce instead of the cubano. He went all the way back to get my sandwich and I can't even eat it. The ham is supposed to be deli ham, they put a huge chunk of a honey ham (like the ones you buy for Easter) with the brown sugar glaze. Are Cubans eating this kind of ham? No. Then there a sliced pork loin instead of slow roasted shredded pork with lots of garlic and oregano and citrus like a Cuban lechon would have. It's not even edible. I wanted so badly to like this. I just had back surgery and can't go anywhere. I was hoping they could get a sandwich right. It was horrible. I immediately gagged. I'm not a food snob, I'll literally eat just about anything but it has to actually taste good. I'm really sorry toad hall but yall need some cooking lessons.

The new kitchen (2011?) is really a bonus, and has become a main attraction to the bar as of late. Really, honestly, I'm not kidding- everything's good: wings, burgers, apps... All solid bar food. My personal favorite is the Cubano sandwich. They paninize the sommabitch, and serve it with a chipotle mayo that rocks it out! The lizard eggs are insane, as well. It's a jalapeño popper, stuffed in a chicken breast, bacon-wrapped, and then deep fried. Insane! Mac & cheese bites, tacos, yadda yadda yadda... They have darts, and video crack, and pool, and pool leagues, and Brewer bus trips and all the normal bar stuff. Sometimes it turns into a werewolf at night, but that's our Coasters!

I ordered tacos, and there was BBQ sauce all over the outside of the taco shells. It made the food messy and unpleasant to eat. If I wanted sauce covering my hands, I would have ordered ribs instead. The tacos were so messy that they gave extra shells with the order. What made the experience even worse was the lack of concern afterward. I do not remember receiving any apology regarding the bathroom situation, the food quality, or the overall experience. Between the unsanitary bathroom conditions, getting sick afterward, and the poorly prepared food, this was honestly one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had.
