Marguerite's Cakes went above and beyond my expectations! She even helped my mom surprise us with a distance cake tasting while we were visiting FL (we're from California - mom bought a delicious king cake from her for the occasion as well). We went with the Pecan Praline flavor and provided minimal direction on the decor for the cake, and she knocked it out of the ballpark. Since we're traveling to Key West for a mini-moon, and we didn't really get to have a whole slice at our wedding, we decided to have a slice each before we left New Orleans (and get some pictures of the layers). When we come back next year for our anniversary we'd like order a small remake or cupcakes if we can! Thank you, Marguerite!! You were the icing on the cake of our favorite day!

Asked to have one feed 20-30 people. I was told it would feed 24 people.... this definitely wasnt going to do that unless everyone got a little taste. (I was also told I didnt cut it right... but was never told how I should cut it). I also found out from another cake decorator a cake this size would only feed about 10 people... so there's that. Anyway .... Got it home and opened the box... lets start with the letters. They were not cut straight (although I was told a cutter was used) .... the letters were also not cleaned up. I'm not a cake decorator but I'm pretty sure left over powder wasnt supposed to be left on the letters ‍ Next... it was completely uneven and cracked in the back, which you can see in the pictures. -- I got blamed for my driving for this one.. ‍ Next... it couldn't even be cut into pieces. It all crumbled when it was actually cut.... And last but not least, my favorite part.... there was a ribbon at the bottom I was unaware of. So after realizing a knife was going through it I pulled it off, and low and behold it was a ribbon... umm what??? So my friends... please dont waste your money on a cake from Bella Ladi Sweet Creations in Slidell ... such a disappointment for the amount of money I paid.

I visited the Pontchartrain location. As a first-time customer, I want to mention that the young girl, Holland, working the drive-thru around 6 a.m. was very upbeat and kind. However she couldn't be more than 15-16 years old, if that. After the charge posted to my account, I noticed it was more than double what I was originally charged. My total at the window was just $5.48, and I did not add a tip since I went through the drive-thru. When the charge finalized, it showed over $13.48. I'm not sure if this was an honest mistake or Holland entering an $8 tip that I didn't give her, but it was concerning to see such a large difference after the transaction was completed. I would recommend customers double-checking their receipts and making sure "no tip" is written if they do not intend to leave one, to prevent something like this happening to them. I hope management looks into this so it doesn't happen to other customers. UPDATE: After speaking with Shannon, a shift manager, she stated if I brought my receipt in she'd handle it. I then told her Holland never provided a final receipt, only asked me to sign one and gave me my donuts through the drive-thru window and said "Have a good day". I did inform Shannon that I had a screenshot of the charge being updated in my back account and that she could view it here because I'd already left a review about my experience. Shannon then stated she will reach out to the owner Maddie to have this issue resolved. I will update this review on whether I do or do not receive a resolution to this matter.

The fact that I'm giving this donut shop a 5 star rating says A LOT! I am very, very particular…read moreabout donuts but this place has me thinking of the next time I can get here. While running some errands in Slidell, we noticed the line of cars turning into the parking lot for this place. Intrigued, we knew we had to try it out. When we got in the line, it was literally to the door and I understand why. The sign says they have hot glaze, and that's very true. Every few minutes you saw the rows of hot glaze come up. Just as fast as they came up, they were sold. We decided to get some (hot) glazed donut holes, raspberry jelly donuts, a chocolate and glazed twist, and cinnamon roll. O M G to all of it but especially the Jelly donut. This jelly donut was what dreams are made of. This is what I think of when I think of jelly donuts. The filling was obviously jelly and it was well proportioned throughout the donut. The powder covered the whole donut. I only got two but I should've gotten 4, at least! The service here was also friendly, fast, and efficient. The young lady who helped us was kind and helpful. If ever I can get here on a Sunday morning (the only time I really let myself eat donuts), I'm sure my order will be double what it was today. Extremely satisfied customer!

I have tried to go at off-times and it's still busy. Being so busy, the experience at the counter always feels rushed and there is nowhere to sit, so I never stick around once I have my bagels. I realize it's a good problem for a restaurant to have, but it still makes me want to go elsewhere. Most times I do. The bagels are a definite 5+ stars. The overall experience is 2 stars at best.
