I had my 6 YO grandbaby for the day Tuesday 6/16, we went to Donut Time because he wanted "monster donuts", my daughter told me about the donut place by the Ellis County Nutrition place, with Cookie Monster Donuts and Elmo Donuts so I went and indeed, cute monster donuts. They were not busy inside, I specify inside because they seemed to have a drive through that rolled to the back of the facility so I couldn't tell. Anywho, my grandbaby proceeds to happily order his 6 donuts, I noticed that the young lady at the counter seem to have something going on, but I figured I hope she's okay and proceeded to order, I haven't had a donut in a bit so I order a chocolate donut with peanuts, I asked her if she had filled donuts and she said we do I have to fill them, I asked what flavor and she says lemon and raspberry, the 2 flavors I can most definitely get, I order one and one. I get to my truck and I wrap what I assume is the lemon filled donut, because I can't see the filling through the little hole, anticipating a lemony mess, I finished eating the donut and realized that I had VERY little filling, perhaps a dot, I promise I'm not exaggerating, I get home and cut the raspberry FILLED donut in half with a serrated knife and lo and behold VERY LITTLE FILLING!! I know times are hard, I don't go here normally but perhaps this is the amount that is now given, I thought. So today Wednesday 6/17 I go to Snowflake Donuts by CVS around 11am and oh boy the difference, this time I didn't eat any in the truck, I got home and with the same serrated knife I cut them in half and Lord the difference and on top of that, the lady gives me a free donut thanking me for my business. My grandbaby loves this place, I hope this was one of those times when things were done unintentionally. read more

I rarely give out reviews. Unfortunately, this one is not a good one. I ordered specialty donuts for our daughter's birthday four days in advance. Upon arrival, it was clear they didn't know who I was or what I had ordered, but said it would be ready in five minutes. As you can imagine, the end product was not the greatest. Please develop a better system for specialty order intake. Thank you. read more

BUYER BEWARE - We ordered two sets of specialty Happy Birthday donuts a day before we needed them. Wrote out exactly what we wanted, what time we would pick up, and paid for them in advance. Our total was a lot higher than I expected, however, I did not question the price before ordering so I take ownership on that. When we arrived to pick up our order, they were not ready. They also had us down for THREE sets of Happy Birthday donuts, when we only ordered two. We would've had to wait another 15-20 minutes for the third set to be ready so my husband said "we didn't order that set, so we don't need them, plus we don't have that kind of time to wait on them to be ready." I called later on and questioned why they had us down for 3 sets of donuts when we only ordered 2 sets. Whoever I spoke to (male) claimed we did not pay for the 3rd set. He told me we only paid for 2 sets, but yet, they were willing to give us the 3rd set for free? That doesn't sound right. Anywho, if you're wanting to order these donuts, just be prepared to pay $2.77 PER DONUT. read more

The girl that waited on us was nice but the donuts were at the bottom of the totem pole! The apple fritter was the only thing that tasted decent but the glazed old fashioned was too sweet and greasy, the non-glazed old fashioned was tasteless, cronuts were mushy with grease - sorry to say that place left a lot to be desired - a total waste of calories! read more

After searching the area for the best donuts I found Donut Time! My order consisted of glazed, chocolate, sprinkles, Earl Campbell, and kolaches. Every item was fresh and warm. The customer service was amazing!!!! There was a slight wait yet nothing to complain about being that it was drive through. This is definitely a top restaurant for breakfast needs! I would give more than five stars if possible! Safety measures were taken being that we're in the middle of a pandemic so that was pleasing to know. I will return soon!!!! read more

Really cute little spot! 2 bistro tables inside. A drive through window as well (heck yeah!!)! The staff was really sweet. The prices are good as well, and the product was amazing. The donut holes and donuts were fluffy and perfectly glazed. The jumbo sausage roll with cheese and jalepeño was delicious. I would post a pic but we ate them so quickly. We wanted to surprise our daughter with donuts for her 10th birthday that said "Happy Birthday". There weren't any places nearby that offered this, except Donut Time. I called & spoke with an incredibly sweet woman to place my order. She was so kind & took her time to explain what they offered. We called the day before & they were able to make it happen for us. The donuts were so cute & so good. We had one happy 10 year old! We will definitely be going back & this will be our new donut shop! read more

This place is epic! I ordered the custom happy birthday donuts when my twins turned 10 and they absolutely loved them! Not only were they creative and pretty to look at but they were soft and fluffy and so delicious. Much better tasting than I expected because often when things are pretty they aren't as yummy, not this time! Will definitely be coming again! read more

I decided to call Bittersweet which is local to us and ask if they could add a few elements like the lattice and pearls. Faith was so kind on the phone and told me to bring it in being also clear that they aren't gluten free. I understood, but since we don't have true allergies I told her I was comfortable with them fixing it. It would not medically harm anyone if there was cross contamination. When I got there I showed her the original picture and sent it to her personal phone. Later I went to pick it up after taking my little to lunch, it came out it and was FANTASTIC! They added all the elements it was missing that I wanted and loved. It still doesn't exactly match my pictures but it looks SO cute now and I am very very happy! When I went to pay, she told me to just go enjoy my cake and that they were happy to help. THIS is how you win business, friends!! ANYTIME, I am ordering goodies, back to school treats for teachers, holiday yummies or cakes that aren't for my GF kids, I will be getting them from Bittersweet!!!! Thank you, Faith!!!

Despite the corner location within a strip of businesses, Midlothian Donuts is still somewhat easy to miss. They're a tiny establishment, but have lots to offer. For starters, they have a drive-thru. This is most popular during the mornings for folks on the go (#1) but there's also a steady stream of locals dining inside on any given day. The small'ish tables are best suited for solo dining action and is not conducive to large groups. In terms of donuts, there's a good classic mix here. The blueberry cake donut is one of their better ones and the glazed is pretty decent as well. Donut holes aren't too memorable, but they're usually generous enough to sprinkle them throughout each order. They're also a true bakery that goes beyond donuts. They have kolaches (#2), croissants, muffins, sandwiches, breakfast burritos and biscuits. The latter is one of their biggest hits: biscuits and gravy. The biscuits are pillowy soft and the gravy is as savory as it is indulgent. The breakfast sausage sandwich is simple, but good. I still have yet to try their breakfast burritos but that's next on my list. Like most local donut spots, they're closed by noon. During my NYC exodus, it was Donut King that provided me sweet sustenance while I waited for the situation to get better. (#1) They offer drive-thru, which is convenient (#2) and utilized often by locals in the area. The selection is simple, with just a handful of donuts, sausage rolls(#3), sandwiches, and drinks. I appreciate the staff was quick in arranging boxes by the dozen and were friendly on top of it. Their regular glazed are excellent. They're airy with just enough bite and perfectly sweet. The eclairs and apple fritters deserve praise and their cake donuts are practically better than the yeast ones. I think their blueberry and cinnamon were near perfect and wonderfully fresh in the morning. The kolaches, in particular the bacon jumbo and ham + cheese are good and I love that they also have breakfast sandwiches as well. They have a credit card minimum for credit cards at $4. Donuts run out all throughout the day, so I would recommend calling ahead of time to confirm donut availability.
