This review has been a long time coming! Aside from the donuts being delicious...I loved the neighborhood feel when I walked through the door. The smell drew me into the place but the friendly greetings made me feel like I belonged there. It was easy to order & pay. And the wait was minimal! I stopped in about 30 min before closing last week. I was immediately greeted when I walked in there were several people in front of me but we were all quickly helped. Everyone that worked there was so nice. Ordered apple fritter, glazed donut, and sausage egg cheese burrito. Everything was fresh and so good! I always ordered an apple fritter wherever I go because it brings fond memories of my dad. Most places serve overly fried & hard fritters that barely have any apples in it. This place is the exception! The fritter was fried perfectly with large chunks of apples. A nice surprise was when she gave me a couple of extra donuts, maybe because they were close to closing. I wasn't expecting smoked sausage in the burrito but it was still good and fresh. It was so good that I placed a Door Dash order today. We ordered the apple fritter, cinnamon rolls, donut holes, spinach & feta bistro, and ham, egg, cheese croissant. Everything was still so fresh and delicious as if we had ordered in person. The croissant sandwich was a lot bigger than expected & was fluffy. Liked the flavor of the spinach feta bistro & was fluffy as well. Wished the cinnamon roll had more cinnamon flavor. They even threw in several extra donut holes. Packaging was very secure too! Not sure if you can tell by the picture/lighting but the donuts & pig in the blankets were over cooked. I gave it the benefit of the doubt by still buying but after biting into them I confirmed my visual thoughts. The staff was friendly & I loved how heavy handed my cream was in the chocolate eclair. My husband likes their unfrosted donuts such as the twist with cinnamon sugar, or cake donut rolled in sugar. I love the apple fritters and mini cinnamon roll donuts. usually i receive great service, but when i went to but my usual food order, not sure if he is the owner or just an employee saw that i asked for the last two of a specific item, he then proceeded to tell the employee to pull one of them out of my bag and tell me we only have one. this was so he was able to get one to eat himself. i am usually very understanding when it comes to most things but this just blew my mind how he did this in front of me and just took it like nothing. this place has lost a customer which is sad because i really enjoyed the quality of food and service that is usually offered. read more

The Palace has been here for quite a few years. They are always busy if not steady any morning of the week. Owners are super friendly. Also seems like it's a place of gathering for the locals. Which to me is always a good sign. Pricing seems ok to me and donuts always seem fresh. I liked the fact that they have a plain blueberry donut since sometimes I'm not in a mood for all that icing. Your normal donut shop but with a wonderful taste. The donuts were extremely soft, lightly glazed but still sweet. My husband said the blueberry cake was the best he's ever had. The jalapeño pig n the blanket was great and spicy. I do however wish they were a little more creative and had other donut options. Could donuts change my life? I don't know but if they could they'd come from here. My friend ordered the Boston cream and on his first bite said, "Usually Boston creams are about the cream, but in my first bit I went for the fleshy side and got a little cream. As an avid traveler, this is still my favorite donut shop. I started going here in high school and every time I get back to the area I stop by for their chocolate topped donuts and chocolate eclairs. My wife and I indulge here every so often. Regardless of our rarity, the staff seems to remember us and always has wonderful smiles for us. Whatever we order seems to magically, be added to and supplemented with "thank you" doughnut holes or my favorite - their amazing blueberry cake doughnut. It is rare to find warm smiles coupled with superior service and expert craftsmanship; but as for doughnuts and personality, this wonderful staff knocks it out of the park.
