Came In on a Saturday morning for some donuts. Had never been here before and wanted to try. Father and son were very busy taking care of customers. Not a fan of their donuts. Plus I walked in there and the person helping me was not wearing a mask. Makes me believe that they makes the donuts with not precaution due to the pandemic. I walked out right away. read more

Came in late one night while waiting for the foot massage place nearby. Selection was low but looked really good still. Ended up getting the tiger tail. It was gigantic and really cheap. I had a quarter and ate the rest for lunch the next day. The worker was nice: saw me sitting and had a nice, anti creepy conversation. Hard to do considering I'm the only one there and it's late. He gave me a hot tea to wash down my donut. Great place for your basic donut needs with friendly service! read more

This is the BEST donut shop. Clean quick friendly delicious and they accept Credit Cards. I stopped by donut star this morning to pick up a dozen donuts for my class. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly, and I saw him speak at least 2 different languages to customers. He got me and several people in and out of the donut shop in less than five minutes. My class loved the donuts. And I love the fact that I didn't have to withdraw cash from an expensive ATM in order to pay for them. Will go again read more

I drive 5 miles out of my way passing other donut shops to go to Donut Star. The donuts are always fresh and the service is excellent. I've been going here for 40 and will not go anywhere else. Not the biggest fan of their donuts. Used to come here regularly for the boba drinks. Owner made my wife the wrong drinks (which my wife orders for us regularly). Owner refused to fix the error. We left her the drinks paid for and untouched on the counter. While we were in there we also realized she microwaves some of the orders. Last time our family goes here. read more

I've been meaning to write this review for a few weeks now. I love this spot! The owners are super friendly and the donuts are delicious (try the crumb!). They also brew a great cup of coffee and keep the store clean. Reminds me of the kind of shop I used to frequent as a kid. I also love that the owners (husband and wife, I believe) speak fluent Spanish. It's not something you would automatically assume, but it is great to know that they know their demographic. They are nice people who always offer up conversation when you come in, if it's not super busy, but even if they are busy they still take the time to a smile and take the time to thank you for stopping by. This is one of the places I will miss most when I leave Riverside. Great place. read more

This place is old and crapy just like donut stores used to be. The donuts are great and this place is one of the few small shops that are still open 24/7. If you want no frills and good donuts this is the place. if you want fancy decore then move on. read more

Nice family owned donut shop, it's clean and has a decent selection. It gets a good amount of traffic so you have to get up pretty early because the donuts go fast. I don't think these are the best donuts around but they definately hit the spot. This is just a typical donut shop, but the people running it are super nice. read more

They are in a very small strip mall with a small lot so parking is limited. There is some street parking on the side streets relatively close by. They (the bakery) either also have a deli or it is merely adjoined to it. Seating is limited in both areas, but probably more capacity than the lot permits. The people in both the bakery and deli were super friendly. They have a good selection of donuts/bakery products. Their baked goods are very sweet. The apple fritter was super sweet, but you could still taste the apples. It was crunchy on the outer ring and soft in the center--just the way a good fritter should be. The blueberry fritter had a different shape from a traditional apple fritter, but similar texture and sweetness to the apple. You could barely taste the blueberries. The banana fritter was similar in size, sweetness, and texture to the blueberry and so not a traditional fritter like the apple. Overall, the apple was best on this visit, but all three are worth a try. The bacon-maple curler was better than the blueberry and banana fritters, but the apple fritter is still my favorite. Their powdered sugar donut holes are about standard. They were fine, but not as good as the other items. They are also not as sweet, so are a good option if you want a smaller portion and/or something not too sweet--you can order them by the piece. Only strange thing was the bathroom. The deli needs to buzz you into the toilet and once inside then you need to press a button on the wall to buzz yourself out! The area does not look like it, but guess they must have a major homeless problem to do such a thing. At any rate, this was an awesome bakery that was worth the super long drive to go try. According to other Yelpers who live nearby, they do sell out of various items as the day goes on. So if planning to go later in the day, call ahead earlier and ask them to save what you want for you--I did this and they saved the three fritter types for me. They had plenty when I arrived, but would have been super bummed to drive so far to get nothing if they had run out. If you are in the area and want a sweet treat, definitely check these guys out!

My wife ends up getting the same tot scramble every time because of how good it is and I think it's amongst the best things of their menu. A few negatives this time: - asked for an empty plate and was given one that was pretty dirty (almost noticeably dirty) and had leftover food on the side of it from last use. - the price has become a little much. I'd like to see the prices go down about 25% and it would be perfect. - added cheese to my eggs and in my opinion, it could have been a bit more cheese on it. - not much a negative but more a personal preference. The waffle I got had almost too much butter on it. Again, not a negative, and I could have just put half of it to the side, but almost every bite ended up with too much butter. That's my fault. Other than these few things, very enjoyable and I would come back. I loved the bacon and my wife's farm skillet. Last time we came they gave us an envelope to use next time for a surprise discount. I would like to see more of that going forward to fix the price issue.

It's located next door to a church, and you can tell there's an affiliation because the space is huge, open, and welcoming. Everyone inside was genuinely kind and friendly. It has that warm, community vibe that makes you feel comfortable immediately. I can imagine it being especially lively on a Sunday morning when services let out. The menu is fun and extensive. I originally considered the "Katy Perry" drink (which sounded adorable), but it's a layered drink and I wasn't in the mood for something sweet or decorative. I went with my usual: a sugar-free vanilla latte topped with salted caramel cold foam. I was only the third person in line, and my drink came out almost immediately, which I appreciated. They also had several breakfast options that looked really good. The jalapeño bagel stood out to me, and the veggie bagel sandwich looked tempting too. I just wasn't hungry enough to commit this time, but I'd definitely try one on a return visit. As for the coffee itself, it arrived piping hot, which I love. On first sip, though, it was lighter in flavor than I expected. If you prefer a blonde roast or a milder coffee profile, this might be your spot. I personally tend to gravitate toward a more medium or bold roast, so it didn't quite hit that depth I usually look for. Overall: Atmosphere - great Service - friendly and efficient Coffee strength - lighter than my preference Four stars from me. I'd come back, especially for the vibe and to give the food menu a try next time.
