We have a new favorite donut and kolache place! Small hole in the wall being the best in class! I can completely recommend all their choices of kolaches, the croissants (especially the glazed ones), the pine cones, the tiger tails, the bear claw (huge) and the lemon- filled, and blueberry donuts. This is a hidden gem of a donut place. Basic interior, designed (like most donut shops around here) to be more of a take-out place since it only has 2 tables. Doesn't matter, get it to go! They do an excellent old-fashioned donut, with the crispy-fried edges, but the standouts are the brisket kolache and the apple fritters. Get the kolache warmed if you're eating it shortly afterwards, and get TWO fritters, you'll thank yourself for it later! I ordered kolaches from here and they are the kind of kolaches that have a buttery sheen on the bun which is very tasty. The sausage itself has a cheese filling, which I enjoyed. I'm a jalapeño kolache fiend but they didn't sell it here but they have many more selections. If they offer to microwave ur kolache I highly recommend that you'd take them up on that offer as well. Donut palace is our go to place to get donuts ever since we moved from North Carolina back to Texas. Our favorite regular sized donuts are the chocolate, coconut, and the favorite assorted are the tiger tail /bear claw. Today we came in and were not expecting to see a Jumbo Donut! We just had to get it! It was a huge strawberry donut with sprinkles . It cost about the same as a dozen donuts, so if you like the variety, choose a dozen, but if you like the Photo-Op then get the jumbo! Next time I hope to get a jumbo chocolate . Have been here 3 times since it opened. My family loves this place. Lots of variety of donuts and also many different kolaches and breakfast sandwiches to choose from. The Bear Claws and Tiger Tails are my sons favorite. I personally like the Jalapeno and Cheese Kolaches and the Croissants. They do serve coffee there but I have never tried it so not sure how good it is. We're from the Dallas area and we were always used to having mom and pop donut shops on almost every corner. We are very happy to have this place open so close to the house. What I love the most is that they are opened until 8pm! read more

This place is awesome! I wish we would have discovered it sooner. They're a small family owned place and the donuts are delicious with toppings and flavors I feel like you don't see as often. They also have croissant sandwiches and kolaches which are super good. I'm usually wary of croissant breakfast sandwiches because they tend to be too sweet but these aren't and are also so light and airy, also a good size for the price! Definitely filling. In any business, the customer is key. I believe on the day I visited, the women behind the counter forgot that( which I'm wondering if it is the same women from a previous post). There was a man in front of me who got his order and had to come back in because he realized it was not the item he asked for. Instead of saying I'm sorry sir let me get that right for you(customer service) she said it was his fault and charged him for her error. Then a family in front of me was trying to get milk for their kids and every milk the mother got from the self serve fridge had been tampered with. She also just left the family as they were ordering to help the man with the messed up order and didn't say anything to the family that she had to help him. The items were plentiful and looked good, but after witnessing the service I left without trying anything( that is why I left 2 stars). I ended up going to H-E-B nearby. Although they cater to the college crowd, customer experience no matter who you are is key especially for a small business. Tried to be open minded and try a new place out, but this was ridiculous! The variety here is great! And the fact that they open all day and walking distance of apartments and UTSA is another bonus. You can tell that their donuts and other items are made fresh daily.
