The cold brew is delicious, and she offers different options for flavor and milk -- but the best part of getting coffee from Mamaleelu is Maliesha herself! After a couple weeks of getting coffee she remembered me and my order, and getting to have a small chat with Maliesha once a week was one of my highlights of last summer. One day in particular I was having a really bad day and week, and she gave me a bottle of concentrate that had a broken lid that she'd been saving all day to give to someone. It's so important to have businesses run by local owners who care about their community, and see their customers as people and neighbors. I look forward to being able to buy coffee and have a small chat with Maliesha at the Farmer's Market again some day!

Coffee goodness: you can have either chemex or drip, espresso beverages, and chai latte, vegan hot cocoa, and a matcha latte. Soy or almond milk is available for those wishing for non-dairy options. They source Kalamazoo Coffee Company beans. The special beverages this week include a brown sugar cinnamon latte, and the uber-scrumptious cardamom maple latte. The place was bustling when I went in today! There are several four-top tables, and then a long window bar with high perch stools. I don't love that it is in a grocery store, but this part of town definitely needed a coffee shop. :) I love Kalamazoo's coffee culture, and am happy to see our newest coffee shop. YAY!
